    00:00 Intro
1:00 We may slow hair graying and hair loss by decreasing chronic inflammation.
2:00 By age 50, 50% of us will have 50% of our hair gray.
2:00 Over 1 year you lose .25% of your hair follicles.
3:00 post-menopausal women have a dramatic increase in follicle loss.
3:30 Oxidative stress can influence gray hair.
4:20 UV stress can affect the hair bulb.
4:40 There is a correlation between graying of hair, facial wrinkling, and crown top baldness and myocardial infarction in men.
8:00 With age, hairs are reduced in diameter and experience follicle miniaturization.
8:55 Chronic inflammation increases damage to DNA proteins and lipids within the hair follicle environment.
10:05 Collagen may be effective in preventing premature wrinkling of the skin and hair loss.
10:55 Bone mineral density correlates with hair loss and hair graying.
11:20 Slowing senescence and purging senescent cells happen with fasting and exercise.
12:25 Minimize exposure to pollution. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Avoid nutrition deficiencies.
13:30 Insulin resistance and PCOS can exacerbate hair loss.
14:00 Sometimes graying from environmental factors may be reversed.
14:30 52% of post-menopausal women experience hair loss.
14:40 Micronized progesterone can help women preserve the integrity of skin and hair follicle.
15:20 Lack of estrogen accelerates changes in hair follicle and skin aging.
17:45 Some shampoos can accelerate graying and hair loss.
18:35 Men with high levels of DHT, consider a ketoconazole shampoo.

I’m 50, have a few grey hairs and some thinning at the crown of my head.
I’ve maintained my current hair thickness for about the last 17years with little change.
I can tell you from my life experience that chronic stress caused my hair to fall out in my early 30’s.
At 30, I had collar length, thick hair with zero grey. I got promoted to a higher paying high stress job and by 32, I’d lost the hair on the top of my head and started to grey.
I quit that job and learned how to balance my work/life better to mitigate stress, and my hair loss completely stopped.
I started to think that if stress did that to my scalp, what else was it doing that I couldn’t see yet?
Number one rule: Your health is all you really have to lose in life. Don’t sell it to anyone for any price.
Number two rule: If you have an opportunity to ‘de-stress’ in a healthy manner, even if temporarily (music/sauna/emotional expression/massage/walk/pet animal/sleep/friendship etc) take it ASAP.
    Best of luck to you.👍🙏

The most effective thing to keep the hair follicles from dying is to rid them of DHT, which will choke out the follicles and kill them. Best way, topical polysorbate 80, an emulsifier that will rid the follicle of the waxy sebum that no shampoo can do, which gets rid of the DHT as well. This is not new, it was called the Helsinki formula back in the 80s. it is under appreciated because people are more interested in' growing' hair, than 'keeping' the hair they have. You can get polysorbate 80 from Bulk Apothecary, etc.

Very informative! I started greying at 17 and now at almost 39, it's mostly around the bang area.. some scattered throughout. My mom's hair was 50% grey by 38. I noticed every single one of my grey strands was dark brown/black at the root after consuming lots of baked potatoes. Once I stopped, my new growth was grey. I tried it again a few months later (eating lots of baked potatoes) and the root was dark brown/black once again. I couldn't find any studies on grey hair reversal and potatoes... so, I was shocked that something as simple as eating a root vegetable was enough for melanin production.... in my case. As for my hair loss, it was always due to a nutritional deficiency from extreme dieting for long periods, Senna tea, and Covid. It took anywhere from 1 yr to 3 yrs for the massive shedding to stop... depending on the cause. Eating enough fruit, veggies, and legumes.. along with diluted Braggs apple cider vinegar scalp rinses, water/dry fasting (sometimes once or twice a week.. sometimes twice a month), and drinking a gallon of water daily helped dramatically. I also include a brazil nut daily.

-- boiling rosemary and mint in WATER for 20 minutes with lid on the pan then 20 minutes simmering with lid off to make an infusion of the herbs. Keep in a spray bottle in the fridge for a week at a time to massage onto thinning parts of the scalp twice a day. Hair loss is fairly straightforward.
      It's caused by DHT(dihydrotestosterone)
DHT can be lowered with medication or supplements.
Saw palmetto and pygeum can reduce testosterone conversion to DHT.
It does this by interfering with 5 alpha reductase, reducing total DHT, which can also raise testosterone, or binding of the DHT with androgen receptors, preventing their effect.
DHT is also responsible for enlarged prostates as men age, so is a good one to address anyway... Imo the reduced and reversed male pattern progression is just a plus.
The drugs minoxadil And finasteride do this via the same actions, and seem to be a a bit more effective.

Men with hair loss have low testosterone and insulin resistance. When testosterone is low so is Shbg. So there is more free T that can be converted into DHT. When cortisol is high the DHT relationship is exacerbated. When humans don't get enough carbs in their system they begin to shed as well but insulin resistance makes it hard to absorb glucose. Low T also means Low estrogen synthesis. This increases inflammation and oxidative stress causing you to deplete Superoxide dismutase and glutathione. Hence the pathway for cardiac dysfunction and many more. You can correct this by having a nutrient dense diet. Reverse your insulin resistant and maintain optimal body composition. Apples and blueberries are great fruit that helps with hair. As both proanthocyanin b 2 and anthocyanin have shown to at the moment ameliorate insulin resistant.
