It's only been 1 episode the series is hardly over
Only disappointed by the last quarter of the first episode in this season. I don't understand why they would show so much relationship problems and tears as poorly as a bunch of other shitty serials out there... But that's the only disappointment in this hole masterpiece serial so far!
Wasn't thrilled with the female main characters being rammed into the script....that was never Sherlock Holmes. Should be renamed "Sherlock Homes and the girls" to give the true feel of this series. But what do you expect with today's feminist remakes of old series/movies, eg; Captain Marvel, Ghostbusters, 007,
How could anyone be disenchanted?
It was different, and perhaps some of happened was unexpected, but series four was not horrid, and I am completely confused by all the people who say they will never watch the show etc. because, on a whole, the show is still *good*
I'd trust Mark Gatiss with my life tbh

I wasn't. I really loved it and I want to ask if I am the only one who thinks like this.
I loved it! I'm sad many people didn't, but then I remember last series, people were complaining about how light it was. Hopefully more people will like it once they get used to the tone of this series?
Zerberus Well, those people aren't watching it right,so many details to watch out,so many questions and theories.
The only bit I didn't like was the editing. I think someone got a bit trigger happy with the overlaying!! The DNA when the dog was running was very irritating!

And then they will start to ask questions. And then Sherlock has to investigate to find my murderers. And he WILL find you. So please. Just don't kill Mycroft in the first plays and it will be better for every party - Trust me.

do you ship Sherlolly? Why? They only have a few minutes screentime together and most of that is filled with sherlock rejecting molly. Don't get me wrong, I love molly, but she deserves better than that. The only person that sherlock is interested in is John. Also, I think immediately thinking sherlock has to be in love with molly is stupid due to them having literally almost no screentime together and I'm guessing you just say this because you think sherlock is straight. plot twist: what if he isn't?
Play My Ace thank you for your opinion. I don't like Johnlock, but I want to see more screen time with Sherlock and Molly, because, when they were kissing in Series3, I felt, that they should be together! I don't know why exactly, but I feel it, and that's how I imagine perfect "Sherlock".

If you ship Johnlock that's fine but don't go saying it everywhere on this channel. Sherlock and John are a great example of a close male friendship and by shipping them it's reinforcing the idea that guys can't have close friends without being gay, when is reality we should be encouraging those friendships.
Also Johnlock doesn't fit with the series, it's never been about love it's about a different kind of love, with friends. It would spoil the series for me and many others for Johnlock to happen. But that doesn't matter since it won't happen anyway.

This episode wasn't bad in anyway - however it did have some problems - pacing was off, too many sudden cuts to move the plot forward, and once again too much focus on the characters and not what I love most about the show, the mystery of the cases. Sherlock solved the very interesting case in this episode (the one with the son coming back home to surprise his parents) in like 5 minutes. This to move on to the Mary case. But as I said in my review, this is only the first episode and I still have high hopes for the next two.
