I'm gonna assume it's garbage until reviews hit, because that's the level of trust Konami deserves.
With you on the warmer colors in the original. It has a certain flavor that is lacking in the remake
I don't think they will add back hideo kojima-san name in there. They remove it and disrespectful on everyone. Plus, I don't give high hopes on this game
@@Volker_A4 this I agree
Big Boss looks more like Solid Snake to me..
I miss those 2014/2015 'phantom pain' theory days on your channel. The hype was real.
What a time
Those breakdown vids were like heroin 😂
I remember those days but in the end all we ended up getting from the final product really was a phantom pain
Ya. Then you have to admit that the game is indeed over.
@@msgtvarela Legit harmed me.
When it showed Snake in his Squares camouflage, it also looked like he was battle scarred to me.
He had damage in the form of bruising and cuts on his face, bits of his attire were torn, and it looks like he has blood on his right shoulder and left leg.
If this is a legit detail, that'll be amazing going forward through the game. That could also just be carryover damage from his HALO jump landing, but I think it's more likely battle damage.
Oh man I was just thinking where did he get damaged from, and your right I think it might come from the halo jump. Looking at the comparison of MGSV and MGSDELTA, it looks like konami just copy and paste everything. Saying that I believe all Konami did was copy and paste MGSV to MGSDELTA. I hope im wrong. Snake is MGS3 was a younger less experience snake so it should feel completely different from MGSV.
@@isaiahgarcia2464 The damage on him could have been from the guards in the bridge area just before this section.
As for animations, they took what MGSV had, but they did make some adjustments to the animations I noticed. Also it feels like Snake is slower in Delta due to the lack of open world that required higher movement speed.
His hair is so drenched and scuffy too, it looks so sick
I imagine your uniform will stay like that until you change it in the menu
you're wrong @@isaiahgarcia2464
Be warned when devs use "in-engine" vs. "real-time gameplay". I'm worried that there could be quite a huge downgrade from the original reveal. Here's hoping the gameplay trailer can still look close to this while running at 60fps
Never does
The "gameplay reveals" use a extremely high end PC to hype people up but before release they tone it so it can run on weaker hardware
I wasn't aware of this! Good (and disappointing) to know😬
Consoles will most likely get some sizable corners cut but PC may end up having most of the fidelity intact. Even if the foliage and other aspects are not as detailed I have some faith that it will still look pretty damn good.

The top comment on Konami's official CZcams video of this gameplay sums it up perfectly.
"Don't screw it up, Konami."
Knowing them, they will.
I want to see how they deal with the more wacky parts of the original MGS3s visuals, as the introductions of the cobra unit, espeacially The Ends weird eyes or The Fears tongue.
Delta clearly aims for hyper realism, whereas the original had a distinct artstyle that easily allowed for stylized animations and characters.
I hope they find a good middleground that doesn't pull you out of the experience.
I wonder if The Fury's death animation will be ported over, along with The Sorrows "psychic attack", whatever it is canonically called.
Also Tikhogornyj hopefully will be stunning.
I hope they finish V.
@@TheEbonyEngineerfive is already done get over with it it was made by kojima to make you feel it years later and here you are still talking about it
Just look at the slot machine game same graphics
@@TheEbonyEngineer The only way you'd get a finished version of 5 is if Konami outsource a definitive edition to KojiPro. I would personally love that, even if I have to buy it again, but Konami will see the heat death of the universe before they work with Kojima again. It'd be such an easy way for them to win though. We all get true MGS content and Konami get money. I don't think Kojima is interested in going back to MGS though, sadly.
I'm glad I wasn't crazy for seeing that many of the animations from MGSV are used here Imo, I'm fine with it, MGSV is one of the best stealth games out there
I don't trust them to translate MGSV to Unreal Engine.
I just hope they let you slam dudes into the wall.
Nahhhh dishonoured2 >>
The story was pretty ok. Wish it was finished
I imagine Konami was like “What else low-effort MGS content can we make recycling MGS5 data after Survive?”
If Konami is being so delicate and faithful with the level recreation than they’re going as far as putting the cracks in the bricks in the exact same spots, it’s safe to say that they REALLY don’t want to fuck this one up.
It’s nearly exactly 1:1. I’m most curious to see how the cutscene choreography will be, because that’s a big part of this game that needs to be nailed to sell such a good story.
yeah, because they already damaged the MGS name with survive so badly it isn't even remotely funny, they want to try and prove they don't need kojima, but we'll see
If they're so faithful here then I reckon it's to compensate for being absolutely vile elsewhere in the product.
People actually trust modern Konami, of all companies, to make something good.
We deserve unfinished games filled with mtx.
@jonatanrobledo9812 Don't pre-order. Wait for Yong to tell us how bad Konami Fucked up. It's free entertainment.
I wish they were more adventurous with the remake, the 3rd holds such a place in my heart that id rather see someone improve on it than just remake it, but thats because i dont care how old it is its great. Would be nice to have mgs3.2 rather than a new mgs3. Id get why they dont have the balls though, the fans are a bit insane and its not in a good way, the 3rd game could be better, if anyone would know it would be me, musta completed that game 50+ times as a kid
12:50 I’m hoping that this remake will give us the option of adding different color filters while we play.
Like for instance a “classic filter” in which the colors of the remake would look closer to the original.
Assassin's creed mirage did that as well by adding the classic filter from the first game.
The developers can very easily add post processing filters to the end of the render pipeline to match the soft green hue. I can easily see options for customizable color grading in a graphics menu.
if not, we always just have reshade.
i hope theres a setting for those that want that, but i am honestly glad the pissfilter is gone lmao it always bugged me
It's such a joy watching you react to MGS Delta. It's really awesome seeing your genuine passion for the Metal Gear games.
Cautiously excited for this. I like the new style, but it’s a case by case thing
It's a, "I'll wait until the Reviews come in." game. But damn if those reviews are good.
@@Exile1athey won’t be
@@BahhBahhBrownSheepI mean the remake would have a bad review if it looked like a a typical fan made mgs3 unreal experience or the most common thing would be the game having a lot of bugs which I doubt because unreal engine games by the looks of it have almost no bugs whatsoever.
Yong mentioning the 3DS version really made me smile!
That port cant get enough love.
Well, lets see what happens, i will imagine this will be a close to 1:1 remake since i dont think konami wants to risk anything.
Its already a BIG risk remaking this game without Kojibro, honestly. Just saying.

Mad Snake
You mean more charismatic
I wonder how buffed the Bosses would become.
Obviously they'll probably remove alot of the Fear cheesing, like The torch, flash bang instant kill with the ak. I saw an interesting suggestion that the fear might try to also throw Chaff Grenades on higher difficulties so you can't just Heat goggles the entire fight.
As for the other fights. I have a feeling they might make the Menu no longer pause time. Since it made the debuffs of the bullet bees, Burn injuries, Tranq bullets, broken bones, and Poisoned bolts a bit meaningless if you can just stop time to instantly remove them. It'd feel alot of intense if you have to choose to remove those debuffs while in the middle of battle of all things. So you really have to go into stealth to try and remove those debuffs.
i do not miss that yellow filter that seemingly everyone was using back then but i also cannot deny that it does lend a certain atmosphere to some environments. perhaps they could use it selectively instead of everywhere because i think the mountain top area looks way better without that yellow tint applied to it.
It can also be dependent of weather and time of day.
Felt perfect during the Virtuous Mission segments
Something many in the trailer missed are the floating objects. When Snake passes the aligator in the swamp, you can see the objects float on the left side. The same goes with the objects under the bridge, after you passed it. They are still there and in the trailer you can see them. And the collectable frogs return to. When it shows the Boss area of The End you can see the frog.
It seems as if they´ll keep this silly stuff in, because it has always been a huge part of Metal Gear as a franchise.
Honestly, always thought that the MGSV engine should be what’s used from now on. They really made movement amazing in V, having the ability to prone, crouch, walking while crouching, it’s amazing
i kinda like the new look to the old look of the swamp. the old swamp looked more like a rainforest than a russian forest. im just so hyped for one of my favorite games ever to be remade
One detail that I noticed during the comparison is the artistic choice to make the bridge weathered in the remake. When playing the original I hadn't given it much thought that Snake could easily slip to the side and almost fall off the bridge when crossing, given that the bride looks to be in decent condition it doesn't make much sense. However the state of the bridge in the remake definitely looks as thought Snake could loose his footing. Just a small detail that gives me hope that the artistic liberties of Virtuos could make for a more immersive experience.
Shen i saw this i was rhinking they used the fox engine for this, but seeing as its on UE5 im curious to see what gets ported over from FE , alot of the animation looks like FE so im guessing it might play very similar with some small changes (no sprinting? Actually opening the radio menu, survival viewer, etc) looks great IMO , ill remain sceptical as Konami is known to do some shady stuff but overall im interested in MGS delta
I first found Yong when he was doing MGS V breakdowns....the nostalgia is real right now
I have mixed feelings of wanting it to be the same, but also want them to expand the map and gameplay design to give us a MGSV similar stealth experience.
Snake the man himself said it the best "I want some more!!!"
I think I prefer the original art direction over the new one. It feels like they pushed realism over style which is a personal preference thing. But the old MGS3 felt like you were playing a game shot on 16mm film or something more visually analogue than realistic 3D high fidelity graphics. I'm definitely interested in trying this out as a Metal Gear fan, but my only nitpick would be this.
Keep in mind MGS3 was like 4 WHOLE CONSOLE GENERATIONS AGO, so it’s difficult to compare graphics that were cutting-edge for the PS2 to graphics that are cutting-edge for the PS5 and just be like, “well, one looks MORE STYLIZED.”
YEA, NO SHIT.
Something was confusing me about that new mud physics they've got going on, and I realized what it looks like: it's the tech they use to part snow in things like Horizon, Destiny, and Death Stranding, among others. It just looks...... weird with mud. Agree that they should stylize the lighting more.
I'm not against this or anything, I'm just wondering how the dialogue will transition to UE5. Also curious about how they'll do the camo system.
I'm not a huge fan of MGS as a saga, but I tell you, Big Boss might be the best written character in all of video game media. The story of MGS itself is amazing, but the descent of Big Boss from national hero to public enemy number 1 is nothing short of a masterpiece. If this game ends up being good, I hope Konami remasters Peace Walker, too.
The ending of MGS 3 lives rent free in my head
That’s like more than half that saga 😂you are a huge fan of the saga
Then they robbed of him in V. V was supposed reveal more about this purpose and goals. Hidden and open. But no.
@@TheEbonyEngineer it did?? Did you even play the game?
@venomshake8187 in about 5 more years MGSV is gonna be the new MGS2 to some people. By that I mean they didn't like/understand the story at the time but will then look back and think holy shit no way
Since it’s Konami, I have VERY low expectations for this game
Low expectations, very high hype.
That's why they know to not change any part of it though. Glad they know their place now after metal gear survive lol

After every game lately weve been shown before launch to be great, and then we get it and its no where near that
After cyberpunks big gameplay reveal, and what we got on launch

@@LowGoddhave faith man they got this! The hype is really real!
MGS3 relied more on art design than full "realism" to sell it's setting with the technical restrictions they had to work with at the time. Delta seems to be going the other way, leaning more on technological progress and capability. Not necessarily bad, but a notable change that could be divisive for fans. I think there's a place for either, seeing MGS3 interpreted this way is at least interesting.
Art? Kojima always used what was best available. They scanned real assets in the FOX Engine. UE is no different other than having more detailed assets.
@@revolverocelot9891 They were still limited by the rendering capabilities of the technology they had available. While "realism" and a "grounded" atmosphere was always their targeted goal, they faced limitations in achieving that goal, and so supplemented the game's atmosphere with evocative art design. The original MGS is a great example of this. MGS3's textures, color pallet, and environmental design may not have been as "true to life" to the area they were depicting as they may have wanted, but it's art is evocative enough of that area that we can fill in the gaps and it becomes "realistic" in the eyes of the player. It's immersive, but it was not fully "realistic" in the sense of being "true to life".
I was basically comparing the "photorealistic" style of MGS Delta to MGS3's stylized realism, and saying there is merits to doing either but fans may be divided on what they prefer.
You better believe that if Kojima could have achieved photo realism on the PS2 he absolutely would have done it. This has nothing to do with a different approach to art design so much as just hardware improving. MGS3 was absolutely aiming to be as "realistic" as possible considering what they were working with in 2004.
Any MGS fans complaining about the more realistic visuals or finding them controversial are just being pedantic. Though that's pretty common for this fan base.
I think MGS3 at the time relied more on the green color-timing as a way to keep the eye from noticing flaws and limitations in the fidelity, especially on CRT TVs. While I can see people wanting the new remake to lean more towards that direction to be more faithful to the style of MGS3, I think people would eventually get a little bored of it, especially now that HDR and Dolby Vision is far more commonplace and the average player is becoming more accustomed to games that strike a more natural looking HDR grade.

The thing about the original is that the contrast was turned up to eleven and beyond, so it got really weird in some cutscenes where it's cloudy and raining but the models look like they have a literal spotlight in front of them; this more nuanced tone will be very preferred imo.
Also, can we talk about how this Snake looks like Metal Gear 1/2's concept art of Solid Snake? So good.
Those game covers were actually modelled after Kyle Reese, played by Michael Biehn in The Terminator
The lack of Kojima does still worry me, and it was very apparent in the dull trailer, but there's no denying how absolutely beautiful and breathtaking the game looks. Can't wait to see more.
This is just to showcase the graphic side of the game. The first trailer was a banger though
I don't know. I think they're smart to let their work speak for itself. Trying to emulate Kojima marketing would be a disastrous mistake.
Kojima isn't indispensable here, this Is a Remake just need to be faithfull and Add some QoL upgrades, they just need be rigorous enough
Kojima was just a small part of the team that made mgs3. If we learned anything about kojima since he left konami it's that his staff under him Did a ton of work to keep him focused and on track.
People need to realize that Kojima didn't make the entire MGS series all by himself in a dumpster with no internet
They should make the green filter an option so people who have experienced the OG Snake Eater can still have that option while people who's first experience can still feel familiar with the "modern style" of games. Just making it an option would be perfect imo

This looks incredible but i don't trust Konami, i'm cautiously optomistic :)
As a unreal developer, the fix for the game to look closer to the older one is in 3 areas,
1. Post proccessing and filters (Pretty straight forward, greener hue, changing depending on the level and enviroment, all can be done dynamically in unreal)
2. Fog color, another thing you can change in unreal, comparing both the fog also has a greener tint, also can change dynamically in unreal so should be easy to fix
3. Sky light color, also straight forward, by default you can change the color the sky emits, in mgs3 its more cartoony/stylized and less realistic, definitely possible to do in unreal
All in all, should not be an issue on launch if they arent lazy about it, hell id do it for free. The issue is only that the game is aiming for more realism so adding these would actually have a side effect of making everything else's issues and faults show, an uncanny valley of sorts for everything else such as assets and characters, lighting is the most important thing in realism so if everything looks realistic except it has cartoony/stylized post proccess filters and light color then the rest of the game would look weird and in an uncanny valley. MGS3 original doesnt have this issue as it is all unrealistic so it can afford to be less stylized. I believe if they do fix it, they should atleast allow us to disable filters, for the effect of being able to compare, and also have a less realistic but closer to the original art direction, and the option to switch to the new art direction that is headed towards realism.
It looks good to me but im still not very convinced this will be a home run because of how Konami didn't give good care to the master collection, I'm still very hopeful but still on my guard how this will turn out.
Yong. The crouch walk is from Peace Walker first time show it. Then, they release MGS3 on 3ds, with basically gameplay from PW.
would be cool to have an option in the menus to apply the old green filter imo
Im more curious about how they gonna do the facial capture and the overall character performance since they'll be using old voices. Is it going to be hand crafted? Performance captured? Really wanna see this one
Absolutely, yeah. One of the biggest questions is probably how the cutscenes will be like. Perhaps including some audio improvements - although that's not necessary. Also seriously interested in how well Hayter's voice is going to work with a much more natural looking Snake, as it's certainly a bit unusual imho (in a very good way).
Dang, dude, your channel is going back to its roots. Takes me back. Love it.
"Rise of Kong Mode" will be where Snake has to capture all the Kongs, like that Ape Escape one
But his net is still the same size
I have never played this game but listened to all the music, so it's going to be basically a brand new experience for me and I'm looking forward to it.
After the MGS Master Collection dumpster fire I trust Konami about as much as I did when Metal Gear Survive came out. So I don't have ANY hope that the MGS3 remake will be any good.
That green hue you gotta remember, it came out during crt tvs so it looked entirely different. I can confirm on my ps2 and ps3
Man I was here since all of your MGSV videos, I cant help but feel nostalgic for this one. :)
same here
There could be a day and night cycle like MGS V, that will change the color up in certain areas
There was elements of that in 3 (after you meet with EVA) but I think adding more nature effects like day/night and weather would actually add a lot to the game.
Wondering how the camouflage, weapon and item switching system works.
been waiting for your take on this all day. just got off of work. lets go
12:12 it's interesting that Yong points out that Snake continues to move forward. In Zelda Twilight Princess (released in 2006) Link keeps walking when swinging the sword. In Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom he stops, like Snake in MGS3 2004. It's weird how things change throughout the times.
Dealing with modern day Konami: Tempered expectations.
The lighting hue of the original MGS3 is based on the 80s James Bond movies, making it look like an older movies. As it's intended.
Definitely makes sense they went that direction visually. Hell, the Snake Eater theme sounds like it could be a James Bond theme.
80s Bond movies didn't look like that. This is the infamous mid-2000s piss filter that Japan was obsessed with for some reason.
@@fre3kshow133 It wasn't just Japan. Lots of games from that time had that kind of color filter. For example, my favorite game ever, Need for Speed Most Wanted.
@@roflBeck Shit, you're right. I guess I was mostly playing Japanese games at the time. What was it about 2004-2007 that made devs want their games look like a tornado was about to roll in?

So good to hear you covering Metal Gear again!
MGS3's color warm, vibrant grading and lighting is so iconic, the new one feels very... Surgical? Like, it's too "clean" maybe.
Everything else besides Snake's face and the colors looks great so far imo. I hope different shots of him give a more recognizable profile and face, but the gameplay looks great.
That's what I hated from the original, everything was either brown or green; I get Kojima wanted to give a feeling of nostalgia or vintage with the filter, but it was overused, things have colors.
I see what you mean, it is like removing a film grain effect for a more crisp picture but losing the feel instead.
I enjoy the new look tbh.
I'm hoping they let you change the filters like the Demon's Souls remake does. ...It *could* happen.

It's crazy to think I've been watching your videos since you were covering MGSV. Thanks for nearly a decade of amazing journalism.
Good to hear someone that is an expert on the game talk about it. I haven't played much of any of the series so this insight is pretty cool. Good to see they are doing a great job with the remake.
The lighting esthetic also helped to make it feel like it took place in the past to me. I mean the game takes place in the 60s. But the look and esthetic in the original really helped convey that. Through the lighting filter or whatever.
The game looks insanely good even now, I’m extremely excited for this, all the mgs games are excellent and I’m sure this will be a fantastic remake of HKs masterpiece. The master collection has been a blast to go back and play the games as they were so can’t wait to add this to my collection
I’m looking forward to playin these levels in a 1:1 design where it’s all open and traversable without loading between environments. That seamlessness is going to be a game changer
The colour grading was more to give the impression of a dense forest on limited technology in the original. It’s not needed anymore so I think that’s why it’s different. I’m happy!
Exactly! Some people seem to be really hung up on the original color grading of MGS3. As if without it, it damages the game as a whole and all is lost with this remake. Let's add a piss filter to make these people happy. The RE4 remake had some of the same insane people nitpicking color grading like the devs completely messed up the remake. The original versions of these games came out at different time, with different hardware and tech.
What a solid damage control move by Konami.
I wonder if you will be able to aim over the shoulder like peace walker or phantom pain, i really hope so, specially when you take into account moving while doing so.
Nice video man good work 👍🏻👍🏻
When it comes to the artistic choice of the color filter of the game, in the beginning, the yellow filter in the original MGS3 wasn't pleasing & sort of broke immersion for me.
But over time, that filter grew on me, but it never brought me into the full immersion of the game, unlike MGS2's more cold/blue filter or MGSV's warm/orange filter.
The yellow filter in MGS3 helped make it feel like an old film, which was successful in leaning into the James Bond feel.
But personally, I think the more neutral, realistic lighting of MGSDelta helps with being more immersive in the jungle, since the Green & Brown colors of the jungle will pop more, like it did in Peace Walker.
Though, I do think a very small blue or orange filter might help the game feel more cinematic, without losing much of the realism, similar to the Africa map in MGSV.
I’m really wondering how the new controls will affect the challenge of the game. Part of what made the gameplay fun and challenging in the originals were the clunky controls. Having better MGS5 mechanics might make the levels and enemies too easy. Personally, I wouldn’t mind more enemies or different routes in certain spots.
I think we're dealing with another Twin snakes situation in those regards , but at least the twin snakes ended up being a decent and fun remake especially in the cutscene department and that was Konami back then , can't trust them with this one though.
If they're updating the mechanics they could still have difficulty settings but also update the AI and detection methods for the enemies so that the camo index isn't as OP as it originally was so you can't just be standing in grass 5 feet in front of a soldier and they still don't see you. Movement could also be a bigger factor than it used to be.
A lot of the changes were really premiered in MGS4, like crouch walk and over the shoulder aiming. That was before the 3DS version.
a little thing i think everyone missed is the fact at 3:57 you can see they brought back the fixed camera option with it trailing behind snake instead of it being stuck to his back

It's important to note that Delta is being developed by a team that had nothing to do with the collection. And this team has worked on a number of recent well-received AAA games, like Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West dlc, and something with Nier Automata, Outer Worlds, Xcom 1 and 2, Batman, and FF10+10-2 ports, etc.
So I guess I still have *some* hope they won't fk it up. The developers who worked on the collection don't seem to have a similarly refined background.
The only thing missing is the original development team & Kojima behind the wheel to steer everything. I think the game is going to suck. I want to eat my words
@@joshuatealeaves I mean, thankfully they don't need to touch *anything* other than the visuals. They're not redoing voices at all, and it seems they're not reworking the gameplay (thankfully). If they were adding/removing/changing gameplay, *then* I'd be really worried.
I'd love if Kojima were involved, but really he doesn't need to be.
@@KevinAccetta I hear you. One of my fav bands “Gang of Four” remade songs from their seminal 1979 album ‘Entertainment’. All the notes were the same but the magic was lost. They had the songs to go off of but band members were missing. Different recordings methods were taken advantage off. All the magic…vacuumed away & thrown in the bin. To me Kojima is the missing band member. Unreal Engine 5 is the different recording method. I can already feel the magic of the original sucked away. The original always looked to have an almost sepia filter on it, even the sky had it. The remake definitely looks way more realistic, definitely looks better without a green sky
I dont know if this remake is coming out on pc or not, but if it is...presumably a mod could be made for the game to change the hue/colours? I wonder would this be possible...

The tool "Reshade" could probably do that
They better have David Hayter as snake again, i swear to god
They're reusing the original's voicelines, you can even hear one of Hayter's grunts in the trailer.
I love that the Snake face model is a mid-point between MGSV Snake and MGS4’s Young Snake face camo.
Looks amazing so far can't wait to try it. Wonder how they will handle the uniforms and healing.
I'm very excited about Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater hopefully konami and virtuous knock it out of the park.
It is 2023 Konami we're talking about here so I wouldn't be too optimistic, god I hope they don't fuck it up.
I prefer the new lighting & hue. The original felt too much like a blurry, hazy dream with no contrast. Even the sky looked green, which is weird. It felt more cartoonish-looking, like an old western with an old-timey filter on.
I think it definitely fit the vibe of the game - adding to the atmosphere of 60s Cold War spy thriller. Would be nice if you can turn it on or off in the remake.
We can see it's a 1:1 recreation of MGS3... but will they keep the "zones" separated by loading screen, or will they create seamless area??
I hope that with the modernized game play + the smooth transitions with snakes positioning that we get harder difficulty in the game. Mgs3 on the hardest difficulty is actually pretty easy once you've beaten the game a few times. I really hope there's a big challenge mode for subsequent playthroughs this time around.
Not buying, I'd rather play the original Subsistence on my phone
its not gameplay footage, its in-engine footage which can be very different.
Wonder if you can press r2 and l2 at the same time to go on your tiptoes when in first person.
I knew I saw it when I watched the pre alpha footage, but it makes me even more happy seeing Naked and venom’s movement side by side. Spoiled as I might have been, going from V to 3 was rough for me and really hampered my experience a bit, very happy to see they are making the safe and obvious choice of making it MGSV responsiveness and mechanically designed gameplay
Agreed. I wanna say "what a thrill" but these guys have been running the franchise into the ground lately, so I'm gonna sit and wait first
Please correct me if I’m wrong but did I see Yong Yea listed in the closing credits of Spiderman 2 as one of the numerous physical mocap performers? 😳👍🏾❤️
i remember being so confused first playing og mgs3 cs i skipped all the calls and didnt know to climb the tree for the bag (this was a week ago)
I wanna know if the sections are seemless now. Like open environment.
Haven’t seen your videos since HS god damn time flies stud muffin.
Excellent analysis 👍
Congrats to the Konami team for the results so far, graphics look insane for a real-time game!
And personally I think they should have an option to turn on and off the Hue filter for the player to decide, I think it looks more realistic without it so I would play it without filter for the most part, but for some players that want to remember the style of the original it would be cool to just be able to put it on.
Ahh back to your roots
I first started watching you when you were doing Phantom Pain theories
It’s the same voice actor audio as well when snake is seen climbing up the ledge he makes the same grunting noise as mgs3 and same with the yell that the enemy makes when grabbed
pretty sure the color hue could be a filter you can change in the settings if konami adds that much thought to it lol
I still haven't played Metal gear solid 3 but I am intending to play the old versions rather than the remake so I get a more authentic experience. I am however considering emulating it rather than getting the master collection due to how poor the options on those version are. I'm currently split between buying the ps2 version or the 3ds version though as they have a few different features. Which one do you think would be better for a first time player?
The 3DS version seems to chug along at a sluggish 15 FPS when I tried it, I wrote it off as entirely unplayable, and that was on the "new" model.
Might be different with emulation.
PS2 version relies on pressure sensitive button inputs for some mechanics, else you won't be able to interrogate guards, only kill or KO the one you've currently grabbed. This isn't a major problem, as the game can be beaten without a single interrogation, they mostly just give things like gameplay hints, and a few hidden codec numbers that play some music to restore Health and Stamina. You also won't be able to point and aim some weapons without just going full auto, as softly pressing Square raises the gun, and hard pressing fires.
Beyond that, it plays pretty good! Definitely gotta recommend the PS2 version
If you search for "mgs3 on pc" on CZcams, you'll come across an informative video from a channel named Ocelot that goes through the pros and cons of emulating each version of the game (PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, 3DS).
I recommend watching it.
Despite the updated textures and fidelity of Delta, the graphics and attention to detail of the original PS2 version is truly mind boggling. To think that this comparison holds up so well considering the limitations of the PS2 (300mhz CPU, 32mb RAM, 4mb VRAM) is a credit to the originals development. They managed to draw a surprising amount of detail on screen (individual grass blades, wildlife and guards with their own logic, good draw distance etc.). I suspect that given a bit more VRAM and RAM to play with, the PS2 original games could have easily passed as an early PS3 release.
