I love how positive you are after this race... yes you set a goal that you didn't achieve, but you appreciated the fact you still had a great time and pulled through! 2:35 is still friggin insane! Cograts Elijah!
Aye dude! Was great running with you for a huge chunk of the race! It was definitely helpful having you and others around during those tough miles. You ran great! It was certainly a battle for a lot of us that day.
That's a great time for a hard course like this one. No matter you were left partially heart-broken, you had the grit to push all the way and no chance to give up. Be proud! you inspire us to be a better runner and appreciate the small things. Cheers!
2:35 what an amazing Boston finish! By far my favorite race, the whole weekend was so fun! I ran a little hot the first 10mi too, then I started trying to bank a bit of energy for the hills, which I think was a really good decision. My hr was mid 170s I let it drop to high 160s before newton. it climbed to mid 180s and dropped to mid 170s again downhill. I’m pretty proud of my pacing for a 1st Boston. Maybe one day I’ll hit 2:35, but I’m happy with my 2:54 for now 😃
Congratulations on an outstanding Boston effort. Do plan on doing Boston again and again. It is such a glorious event and celebration of running and love! Cheers!
Major W 😮💨 Congrats on your hard work & consistently. Crazy that it was only 10s for you to actually start the race. I ran LAM this March & it took me 9 mins to officially start 😂. Way to go man
Great job!! It was my first Boston as well and I was overwhelmed with the support from the people of Boston. It was an incredible couple of days. I went to a dark dark place for the last 2 kilometers but the struggle is so worth it. Congrats again!
Awesome job!!! Can't even imagine how hard it is to run a marathon, especially in 2:35! Thank you for being such a big inspiration!!! Greetings from Germany
Awesome story man! Honestly on a flatter less technical style course you'd be closer to, if not below, 2:30. Be proud you did so well at Boston and have so many good memories around it ✌️
Great work man! I met you in the athletes village, you crushed it! The hills shut everyone down. I think going slow in the start is a good way to conservative the legs.
You have been so inspirational to me since I started watching your video. This video got me so emotional and I am actually tearing up a bit now 🥲 I am doing my very first half marathon in May and I will enjoy both mental and physical pain and the energy from the crowd during the race as you did! Congratulations!! 🦋
Elijah, saw you come through Coolidge Corner in Brookline (around mile 24). Seemed like you were running on fumes, but you also looked focused and strong. Nice work, man!
Elijah....what an incredible accomplishment! Congratulations! I was running the race as well....thanks for sharing and helping me to relive those moments along the course! It was my first Boston and I'll never forget it! I noticed that you took an ice bath 2 days before the race....do you find that helps in your recovery after the race? For me, I always cramp up after I finish a marathon....Boston was no exception....I lose a lot of salt and am dehydrated. Even though I had electrolyte at every station and 7 gels along the course....I still cramped up at the end....it's a brutal pain and I wish I could get through a marathon and not have that happen to me afterwards. I have ice baths post race but perhaps having one before could help as well with recovery? Any thoughts you could give would be appreciated. All the best!
hey, elijah. so very proud of you. you are an inspiration. i saw you at the finish line and was there cheering you on. would love to send you the video i have. let me know how i can get it to you :) stay awesome!
Well done 🙏👍🏻 keep going on with ur dreams! U have sub 2.30 in ur hands dont give up! U need change littlebit in ur training ! Whene I hade sub 2.20 as my goal , I change my longruns to be a key workout .. where I run those harder and longer.. I hade 40km longruns where I run 15-25 km in my marathon pace . That was key for my sub 2.20 marathon .. after that I run 12 times sub 2.20 .. and my pb 2.16 .. my weekly training was 130-160km
I fought the same battle in my last marathon .. got to the low point and wanted to walk it in but I pushed through it and ran the entire race. I missed my goal time but I felt so much more happy about not quitting vs the PR goal
Congratulations. When you get older you will appreciate how fast 2:35 is at Boston. Boston is a tricky course to run a fast time. It beats the hell out of your quads and then you hit the uphills to slow you down and while 21 to 22 is downhill it can finish off your quads. What time did you qualify with getting a number under 1000? Years ago I don’t remember them issuing many numbers under 1000. Do they now give 999 numbers under 1000?

Thanks so much man! Let’s keep it rolling!

My man still smoked the race! 🔥
America Hobbles on Dunkin ☕😂 - Absolutely insane effort, congratulations on an incredible performance in Boston! 🦄
Need not be a once in a lifetime experience. Do it again, Mr. 2:35! The first one is the most special, but it never gets old.
Boston is probably the toughest among all top 6 marathon courses. Did a great job man surely you will achieve 2:30 in another one.
Dude…unreal. What a run
Good video!!!!
So glad I had a chance to meet you in person this weekend!
Likewise! Let’s get something going together down the line!
Great race! You can easily go sub 2:30 on an easier course and better weather.
I fought the same battle in my last marathon .. got to the low point and wanted to walk it in but I pushed through it and ran the entire race. I missed my goal time but I felt so much more happy about not quitting vs the PR goal
