"If you do good quality work, people will come back"..Man if everyone lived by those words, this world would be such a better place.
Really wish we could go back in time sometimes
father n son... my respect 2 you both. a tear just dropped... thank you
Nice to see blokes in sheds up north , doing it to world standard . May there tea never grow cold .
Sorry to break your heart but they're in the west midlands not up north haha
Was anyone else not ready for that video to be over 😊
no kidding right?!
This is true happiness right here. To share an interest like this with your dad must be incredible.
It has always been one of my favorite jags. On my list of dream cars, when they new GT was announced with a 3.5 ecoboost I immediately thought of the xj220, people may give it shit for being a tt v6 but I love it!
I have just come on this business looking after such an iconic car, a car i have always loved.I remember probably in 189/90 visiting my in laws holiday caravan in Garstang near Clitheroe and one day coming up the road was an XJ220 what a sight.I would love to be ale to visit this factory one day just to clap eyes on others. Many thanks.
great vid love the xj220, the younger guy looks like karl pilkington!
My exact thought about Karl P
head like a fuckin orange
phenomenalpnut Fucking twonk!
I thought that Carl pilkington
all right then
Father and Son time with cars or bikes, is by far the best. Even at 35 Dad and I still love to go to car shows and meets together.
Will never forget seeing this at the Motor Show in Birmingham in 1988. The crowd surrounding it was ten or twenty deep and you just couldn't get close. Luckily someone had the bright idea of raising the car up on a platform, otherwise very few would've been able to see it. If I recall, I mainly went to see the 220 and I think many others did too.
Kick ass video guys! This was one of the first super cars I seen as a kid so it has always done something special for me. It just made we say wow when I was little.
Definitely one of those beautiful stories that brought tears of joy sharing aspiration.
A wonderful father and son team working together on one legendary car.
One of my dreams to do the very same.
That blue XJ is my new dream car...
Seriously, Shes beautiful.
The story is not only about the car, it's the amazing relationship that these two have that makes this a winner...nice job Drive
FANTASTIC video! I love the XJ220 as I stare at my custom 1:18 die-cast model of one. Thank you for the video. A truly under appreciated super car!.
Never seen a video more deserving of a like and never has a video caught my attention like this did, eyes were glued to my screen all the way through 👀
Always loved the 220 and with don and Justin looking after things, the 220 will live a very long and deserved life. Good work chaps 👌🏻
Man, that looks like an inspiring place to work. Forgotten values and attitudes. Warms my heart
The XJ220 is the most beautiful car that has ever been or will ever be produced. My dream is to drive one someday.
+Bearded Fat Guy you spoke my words mate..exactly my sentiments.. gorgeous beauty :)
Bearded Fat Guy the brakes were terrible my old boss had one and he said the brakes were virtually useless
Great video about great people with a great car story!
Congrats to the guys for being THE XJ220 specialist and keeper for the world.
A truly fantastic video that car enthusiasts and historians around the world will enjoy. Good work and keep it up /Drive!
FANTASIC! I'd to see more of these guys, I can feel their passion coming through!
The XJ220 was my favorite car as a child. All the way up until I saw a Pagani Zonda for the first time.
I am so happy I got to sit right on beside this gentleman, on the left, as he narrated the video.
Grassroots racing car and culture at its core is about family. Great to see this family make a life out of a neglected classic.
Great feature on an interesting and unique experience of two men. Really humble and passionate.
The Drive do some very good quality videos now and again and this is one of them. A great watch
What a lovely video. Such a close bond between these two.
Growing up during the time this Jag came out, I have to say it wasn't on the "dream" list or had to have posters of..that was reserved for the 959 or F40...looking at it now though, I do realize how beautiful it was and still is. Great video!
Last movie I saw one of these in, I think, was Gone in 60 Seconds, Even then, it only had a fleeting appearance. I can remember now, after all these years, how upset I was that it didn't get more screen time. Don, Justin, Misters Lawson, what an incredible achievement. "Normal families" have a hard enough time keeping it together when they're not working, playing, and competing together. Yet, you guys make it look easy. Nicely done.
Had a lucky day once in a jag showroom many years ago , woodford jags, had a 220 on show inside , flew in and was just ogling it for ages and had the balls to open the door and sit inside it . i nearly came in my pants , it was awesome a true beast of a car and the interior was like a cockpit and it was very very low , amazing and as a kid it was like a dream come true !
Great father-son story. I love the XJ220! So beautiful.
Went to the Haynes breakfast morning today, held first Sunday of every month at Sparkford Motor Museum in Somerset, and they had 2 of their cars there. An XJ220 and the Bud Light Castrol Jaguar. Mad bits of kit when they're there right in front of you.
Great Video! Love hill Climb, just lost my Father-in-law who won the British Hill Climb Title twice in the 60's, For Joss Randall's in Stoke. He would have loved to see this!
Great video & gratz on still holding the Goodwood hill climb record
This was the first car that actually got me into cars...I remember having a huge box of toy cars & it's weird shape got my attention & ever since then I've been a fan.
i love the XJ220... its been my favorite car since i learned of it when i was 10 years old, back in the mid 90s.
Top segment!
Thank you /Drive!
What a couple of great guys! So rare that both father and son are at the top of their professions. The son must be an exceptional driver, and I mean by pro standards, to hold the record for the Goodwood hill climb.
I love this car. Favourite of all time; first car I had a fascination with and I'll never loose that.
Dream job working on those cars . Well done to Don and Justin , they have obviously put a massive amount of time and effort in to to get where they are now . Would love to call in and have a look around if I was in their neck of the woods . Love the old signage andpetrol pumps , classic :) :)
Its less than a 10 min drive from where i live yet many people in the area have never heard of Don Law Racing! It's best described as "out in the sticks"! This is their website; www.donlawracing.com/Index.html
Again and again you guys put out solid videos...keep it up fellas.
Most beautiful car ever, my god.
Very moving video, these cars have such a history behind them!
Amazing! The Delorean and the XJ220 are both in the hands of a tiny company with true love for the heritage!
Nice one guys, love the XJ220!
Dons smile when Justin started talking about the first car they built together. Hope me and my son have that.
Great video with a lot of passion! Thanks for this!
One of my dream cars, even playing with the model car as a kid felt special.
Very beautiful car. I had a poster of it on my bedroom wall, as well. I've only seen one so far. Would be an amazing car to own.
Most guys my age were brought to love supercars from the Countach posters hanging on their wall. For me, the Countach or even the F40 never held a candle to the XJ220 and it's still the most desirable supercar ever made. Many say Jags mistake with the XJ220 was abandoning the V12 for a V6, but they're usually the same people who don't understand the balance and beauty of a proper E-Type who also shared a 6 cylinder, albeit inline. But the point is that sometimes the engine makes the car, but other times, the engine makes the car an underdog and the underdogs are always the true heroes for the same reasons that people want to see Batman beat Superman.
its awesome you guys play music together too ! wish me and my pops raced and played music together lol
Thanks for making this video!
I'm so happy to see people like this who keep legends alive
Thankyou very much for this video I loved it !
This is terrible to listen to. Can you guys please mix vocals in properly for once? this whole left-ear-right-ear thing is awful and awkward. Not to mention the mixing keeps changing channels for one person talking. It sounds like they're talking right next to my head and walking circles around me.
I like it
I can hear it perfectly well, no issues at all.
It's such an easy fix in the edit, too. There's really no excuse for it.
draggonhedd I think it's alright, maybe not quite as extreme next time would be better.
I think this is more of a headphone/set user problem, and it pisses me the fuck off!
Seriously though, put on a headset and check the audio before uploading.
Very good vid drive. Thank you!
I've seen one XJ220 in the wild, ONE. I still think it's an awesome car.
Did not have the car as a poster as a child but I remember being really stunned by the visuals of the car when I first saw it in racing gmaes in my youth! This have been in my memory for a long time, while I would rather have a F40 the xj220 LM is one of the most good looking cars out there (apart from the interrior..). Remember seing a video of one taking of from a nightclub surrounded by bugattis and the coolest part was that everyone was staring at the Jag not the Veyrons..! :P
What a car! I remember watching them in the early 90's.
Please upload this again with the sound sorted, I love these cars and would be great to hear what he has to say x
I love this car it means so much to my dad and me
Matt Farrah will be seeing these guy soon! Can't wait!!
Been my dream car for over 20 years.
These guys are awesome, passionate about their cars
This is my all-time favourite car
Sweet vid. Remember my first time racing an xj220... in nfs2, lol.
I dont see why people do not like this amazing car?
The best looking car ever and still looks modern.
I remember this car from Gran Turismo 2 on PS1 .. A spectacular unique sound
I like how he has his own little Mustang collection too,True car nut!
This is my ultimate garage car. Loved it at first sight and am still struggling to find one to go through restoration
someday I hope Jaguar built a succesor of the XJ220. Great Video
really loved this video!
Amazing, 800bhp XJ220 would do significantly more than 220 mph! what a monster and very lucky guys.
Very nice, guys. Thank you, from the land of the rising sun.
Remains my favorite /Drive video
7:28 - Same Jaguar that came to Barbados for the 2014 Top Gear Festival. Was always wondering who owned that magnificent sounding machine. Now I know.
Thats a proud father if I've ever seen one :)
My friends didnt like this so i never stated anything, now im a own character and i can enjoy this without the fear of fitting in.. its a nice car!
Good Lord, that Martini Livery one....*drools*
always loved the xj220
Make more videos like this, lots of passion
The cat-like sound of that XJ220 is what a real Jag's supposed to sound like. Like the roar of an angry Jaguar, literally.
The car I could never get in Gran Turismo 3.... I loved it then and love it now.
What a story, brilliant
Wow these guys are only 5 miles from me, I had no idea! Wonder if I'd be able visit to take a look at my childhood dream car
Prefer mono sound over a person talking in my left ear and the other in my right.
...yeah. Its kind of creepy
Thank fcuk I aint paying to view this!
What this guy says!
If you used headphones to listen Im sure it would be a bit awkward. There is no crossover, but using speakers it was alright.
Love listening to their mouth noises
In my book still the ultimate supercar and a pin up hero made and designed in Britain!
Long live Jaguar XJ220 🤩❤️🤩❤️!!!
Hell yeah! A legend!
Great video.
love it always wanted one of these I only seen one in my life time
My all-time favourite
Awesome guys! :)
This has always been one of my favorite cars. I'd take one over almost any modern car.
if this video was 25 minutes I still would have watched all of it. never was jags biggest fan, but I just can't turn my eyes away from those 220's, there's just something about them
My favourite car ever made.
Great film.
lucky guys to be able to achieve so much together
