Let no one think this is due to the limitations of the switch. Black flag for example runs great at 30 FPS on handheld mode. This is clearly due to laziness of the developers not the switch. Thats all i wanted to say
When you know that Saber Interactive managed to make a beautiful port of Crysis on Switch with almost no compromises except the resolution that runs 99% of the time at 30 fps according to Digital Foundry, Ubisoft has no excuses.

I don't understand how 3 is considered a weak entry. It's one of my favorite ones. It introduced a great time period with a fun character and told a really good story while also presenting an expansive and detailed world to screw around in with some fun side content to do if that was your thing. This game was in no way a weak entry and the fact he kept repeating most people thought it was makes it sound like he never played for himself. Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking this was a good game.
It is definitely the weak game in the trilogy. If you played the 4 games prior to 3 you would have noticed how distant and far the story has been driven from where it began. Connor is not a terrible assasin, but it was difficult for people to connect to him since they had 3 full games with Ezio. Regardless 3 isnt a bad game it just didn't fill the void that the previous game left behind.
Everything about it was great except for having to do all the country side missions and crafting late in the story

"The Weakest Link" "One of the Worst in series"
No my dear man, this one has some of most detailed storytelling and the characters has a lot of depth, some fantastic character development.
The story is also one of the saddest and most tragic.
People only hated on this game because Connor is a much more reserved and deep character, they expected another charismatic Ezio.

The VenomousGT Zion didn’t write the review. He formatted a written review from the website of Nintendo life. The author of the review did complete the game. Zion was just getting footage from the game, and probably started at the beginning and got all the footage he needed

I'm playing it rn from the bargain bin and it took me 6 hrs to get connor it was alot more Haytham tutorial than I remembered
AC the rebel collection on the Nintendo Switch at the other hand is a must buy. And show's that the developers (if they are the same) really learned from their mistakes.
Okay I'm having trouble. My mission to place a snare down isn't working. I can't put one down. I select it on my toolbar and it just doesn't work. It just stays on the bow
Honestly it should’ve gotten 7/10 I just got it with the patch and honestly it’s really fun. Not as much fun as the other AC games but still really fun. Idk why people are crying about it
The game has a new patch. Is runs very smootly but if are in a big fight with som soldiers the frame rate drops to 20 fps.

I'd just like to say that I didn't experience any of these framerate or audio issues and I didn't think the textures were that low quality and I played this game almost solely in docked mode. Of course the real world bits were kinda boring but that's to be expected, the actual story was good and I didn't mind playing as Haytham for the first 10 or so hours (it was annoying that he couldn't climb trees like I thought he'd be able to though - I'd just been playing Black Flag and assumed he'd be able to lol - but it was all fine when Connor could climb them)
Worst in the series??? I LOVE AC3. Haythem Kenway is one of my favorite characters in the whole series
I experienced the graphical issues UNTIL i finished the updates that came with it and that fixed the issues for me.
I can't wait for the Bomberman review!

A trick that works for the switch: I shouldn't be an issue if the developers had done their job well enough. If you change the resolution in TV mode to something like 720p or 480p, games that struggle to maintain a good framerate can now handle it. You need to trade resolution for framerate. If you have your switch hacked, you can also unlock the clock up to its intended max frequency.

Whatever the merits of AC3 on switch as a game, did Nintendo life turn their old review into a video to tie into the big performance patch that came out this week? If so, why? The audio was fixed and performance improved, making some of the statements in the review incorrect now. Or I guess it could have just been bad timing and they didn’t know the patch was being released the same day they posted the video (based on the review from months ago).

I agree this should not have been named a remaster still I had a good time playing it and there is a lot of content. AC3 was never my favorite entry but I enjoyed it more on Switch then I did on Ps3 back in 2012 for some reason. Still some of the issues... During the king George dlc the game even crashed several times and I had to restart it. This is nothing more than a port of the last gen versions with little to no work put in to it.
3 years later I've been playing the game for about 6 ish hours and haven't seen any of these problems and I personally think it definitely looks better than the original game

It's 20$ now and the current patch fixed everything. Go get it if ya never played it. I skipped it on xbox360 n am loving this in both docked and handheld.

I've bee playing this remaster on switch since the day it came out. Maybe it's just me, but apart from the audio i don't experience anything like framerate issues or negative things mentioned in this video. Could be that i'm that guy who is satisfied with less ofcourse. Imo it's a great game and it runs smoothly 😊

I'm loving it with the newest update. Everything initially troubling it is now fixed. I find it runs great on this tiny consol.

Well I got good news for you! December 6th.
Had Black Flag and AC3 on the Wii U and played the shit out of them. Now their both on the Switch. Black Flag will be out on December 6

This guy is comparing this game to origins and odessy when it's original game was about ten years ago, the platform that they had when they created the game was no way in hell capable for a world like Odessy or origins, the game was a remaster not a remake, they try not to change the game other than adding the DLCs and better graphics

I love open world games, so while many have deemed ACIII to be one of the worst entry in AC franchise, it was the first AC game I've played , and I was blown away by the beauty and the lively world this franchise has to offer which lead me to follow up with the other AC games afterwards, so when ACIII was announced for Switch, you can imagine how excited I was, to be able to revisit this beautiful world that I once dipped in, but after seen so much negative critics about this port, I think I might have to give this one a pass for now... at least until this port get a more reliable update...which I am not sure when Ubisoft will release...

@@T_Ocha_Streams it doesn't look worse, it looks difference since the lighting engine was overhauled and this results in lighting related issues that weren't present in the WiiU version. The same issues appear on the PS4 version to often a even larger extend like faces for example. The switch. Version has issues but is objectively better looking and better running than the WiiU version.
And yes, I own both versions, the PS4 version and watched the video.
I still don't understand why people say this is weakest link in the AC series. In my opinion Unity is the weakest link. The story was boring and I base that on that I can't remember one thing from that story, the combat was really bad, the same combat system was also present in the AC: Syndicate game but it was refined and improved and by that became much better there. The character Arno was forgettable. The only interesting thing about Unity was the 2-4 player co-op missions but that interest didn't last very long. Oh, and 18th century Paris looked really nice.

And yeah, it was Paris, Notre Dame is hard to forget, especially after what happend earlier this year.

The last time Assassins Creed was done on a handheld was on the PS Vita.... What more could you people want? It's not some crazy powerful handheld device... It's a Nintendo Switch. Take it for what it's worth. I think it's great. For the price now brand new ($20-30 on eBay brand new) you really can't complain. If you want the best image go build a PC or play on a new gen console. But to lay in bed and play Assassins Creed from a handheld, i'm not bitching.
The "remastered" in the title is misleading. If they instead only put "Assassin's creed 3 switch edition" or something along those lines it'd be completely fine

...The switch really is succeeding where the vita failed.. Only issue ive had is the right joycon being lose and creaky (Maybe its cause i got a grey one?)

You managed to publish the review three months later but didn’t take into account the recent patch that fixes most of the issues the game had. And could no one take some footage from parts of the game past Sequence 1? And why you keep saying AC3 is the weakest link of the series when most people consider it one of the best? It has naval combat, forts, open world, crafting. Some of the most on-point elements of the series that have been included and expanded in all following chapters... 🤔🤔

@@Joker-yu5kp I bought the game today and played for roughly 8 hours. It runs fine but when a lot of explosions happen you may get some stutter. So far I have only experienced 30 to 45 fps. The game runs great and they kinda made the graphics better in the patch aswell. In the eShop it's on sale for 26 btw

Even the Rebel Collection on switch is good.
If its graphics you care about then why do you have a switch and want to play a game on it that was never released on it in the first place. If you look past all the graphics you'll be in for a treat playing assassin's creed wherever you can take it

I'm sorry but you can't have your standards high in terms of graphics. You are playing console games on a HANDHELD. To me, that makes me happy enough. When's the last time you've played assassin creed on the go?
The parkour is better than that of origins or oddyessy. There is more depth to it while still maintaining to look cool. While in origins it is just left stick up and holding A.

The Nintendo Switch is essentially a portable PS3. Which is still great. I wouldn't be getting one if the Vita was dead.

@@doctoruwu1210 it's under powered compared to a PS4 and it's a little unfair to compare a handheld console to that of a home console capable of rendering 4K output. If you look at the Switches library, most of the Playstation ports are remasters from the PS3 era which is still great on a small screen.
It's actually a bit more powerful than a ps3.

This video is only showing the first sequence of the game. This just gives me the impression that Nintendo Life only played just that.
Many games runs better in portable mode thanks to a more balanced memory bandwidth at 720p. But this is a bad port and nothing else, specially after watching The Witcher 3 running on Switch. Maybe Ubisoft will bring more AC to Switch and I hope in a better shape then this one.
