Playing this Collection right now and just finished AC 2 for the (who the hell knows) time in The Ezio Collection on PS4 (had it since Launch back in 2016... Yeah just been sitting there gathering dust this whole time 🤣) and honestly JUST GIVE ME EZIO COLLECTION ON SWITCH... I'll gladly do that 100% again right now to and from Work each morning 👍 😁

DerWaidmann it’s actually more in line with the next gen versions visually, but not quite. Ubisoft really took advantage of Wii U’s extra hardware over the 360/PS3

@@lucaspereirahmj ps4 has more detailed vegetation that sways + other effects, it was technically a cross gen game like watch dogs and such, but i guess u could call them remasters too

To be honest, as somebody who didn't like Assassin's Creed 3 in the PS3, I'm enjoying Black Flag. It's a solid game so far, and the Switch port is really good.
The sound compression, an issue I still have with AC3 on Switch (unless the compression is now fixed with a patch), is much less noticeable to the point even with headphones I don't hear much compression, and the game looks and runs great! The only problem I have with it so far is that the controls need getting used to.
Ship battles make AC4 my favorite in the series. They still haven't come close to topping what they did in that regard.

I wear headphones and there is a CLEAR upgrade in sound quality from AC3 Collection. And pretty much everyone on reddit, including myself, have said the audio is essentially perfect. It's not a problem whatsoever. Top notch Switch port.
How's the graphics compared to ps4 version,is there any noticeable differences from shadow, that beard and vegetation ragdoll effect?
I'm pretty happy that these Assassin's Creed games that I love (3 & 4) have come to the Switch. Sure, 3 needed a patch to improve performance, and it got it, but 4 performs much better. I'm happy I can have these games with all the time.

I think they did one in the past and if I'm not mistaken it was in between current gen and last gen. Or I might be mistaking it with call of duty.

The Switch is definitely a good thing for people who are on the go and aren't at home a lot. We need more of these games, ports or not to give owners of the Switch the feel of playing home console level games on the go.
The fact that they put The Witcher 3 on the Switch, and made it still look decent and play well still blows my mind

Still seems weird that AC1 still hasn't even gotten a current-gen version. Not the most fun of them all, sure, but it's literally the beginning of the overall story.

This again proves my point that the switch would make a good system to enhance older games for.

It's a great system for enhanced 7th gen games.
It's crazy how EA are so hungry for money, and yet they're leaving tens of millions on the table by not porting their last gen games to Switch. You just hand it off to a 3rd party porting dev like Feral Interactive, give them a percentage of sales and then sit back and count the profits.

Great work again DF. We have done waiting for AC games on the Switch now we have 4 pretty good Ports. The Ezio Collection would be great too see coming onto the Switch maybe Unity is a possibility and Syndicate aswell, Origins is the end of the road tho lol.

I played these games on PS3 and it looks like this will just be an upgrade.
Would have liked the Wii U version of IV in those comparisons, cause that's probably where most Switch players looking into this game will be coming from.
Jaffacus I do. I own and played this on my Wii U to 100% completion and loved it to bits, having the map on the Wii U Gamepad while navigating the seas was awesome. Performance wasn't perfect but it was more optimised than AC3 on the same platform at any rate.
homebrewGT Wii U CPU was shit and a bottleneck in many ports made to it. It was technically possible to make things run better if you were willing to offload certain tasks to the GPU instead (which was more capable than those on 360 and PS3) but that takes more effort and money and not all games are made equal in what they need to simulate. Look at the original Bayonetta, it ran better on Wii U than on 360 and that was a fast paced action game. So that certainly could be done.

This game feels really good on Switch. I played the older AC games on Xbox 360 up until AC3, so this was a no brainer purchase. I love this game, cant put it down.
So excited. Played Black Flag on PS3 and PS4. Loved it so much. And always wanted to play Rogue.
In the end, the Nintendo Switch will have helped all big gaming companies to optimize and improve their rendering engines. Now that they all run on the Switch imagine what they will be able to do in the future on bigger platforms like the PC. Games lacked optimization for the past decade since we had all the power we wanted but now it's back on the table! Like the good old "will it fit on a 1.44mb floppy?" days!

@Dr. Loomis AC3 was more older than Rogue and Black Flag and at launch runs like 20-30 FPS and with a lot of issues

But it's mobile. That is a huge deal.
Having played both the Switch version of Black Flag and previously the PC version, I think the Switch version is still a very solid port. The lower frame rate on Switch vs. PC (for me, 30fps vs 60fps) was very jarring initially, but I got used to it and ended up 100%ing it on Switch despite the PC version being more solid overall.
If you plan to solely play on the TV, Switch isn't your best option. But it's a great option if you want to play on the go. If you want the best performance, PC is the best, even if it's not as well optimized as it could be. Regardless, Black Flag on its own is a great game and Rogue (from what little I've played) is good too.
I have both PS4 and switch which one shuld i play AC4 on:
Pro in PS4 for me: Graphics
Pro in Switch for me: Fully patched,so maybe bugs,clunky control arent there anymore,plus it's a bundle so i don't have to download all dlc manually.

Did you watch the video? Look at the textures, the physics, Lighting, Character models. The switch version doesn’t have any improvements in those categories, it’s based on last gen with better FPS and resolution

Luca A. - I think it’s sharper on Switch. That’s down to little to no anti ailiasing (which if not used right, it looks horrible to me), and a bump up to a max resolution of 1080p while docked and never hits the 720p resolution of the original on PS3. Besides, the Switch is based on mobile architecture whereas the PS3 uses PowerPC architecture, if I recall correctly.

The switch needs a lot of remasters, but unfortunately we aren't going to get most of them. Especially the older EA games. EA's support for switch has been god awful.

I love having high quality last gen ports on the Switch. It's very impressive.
The problem is that PS3 is basically 2 gens old, at least in a year's time. We really need a switch pro with an enormous 4x perf gain
@@Nicolas-zo6rg I hear you on that, but I don't want a mid generation more powerful Switch. Developers would have to design their games with the original Switch as a baseline. I'd prefer a Switch 2 that had full backwards compatibility for the original Switch. Just remember how underutilized the New 3DS was.
My hope is that we get a Switch 2 in about 2 to 3 years.

No reason whatsoever to compromise on sound quality. There are a number of ultra efficient codecs such as OPUS that could have been used to re-encode or even transcode the original audio tracks to save space. I just purchased a 256GB MicroSD card from my local Microcenter for $25 so storage shouldn't have been an issue here.
I hope they make a dedicated assassins creed game for the switch but with a "edge of tomorrow" twist, sort of like the blood moon in BOTW. The animus had a glitch, thus making each death, restart the whole game, but keeping all the exp, level progression, character stats and skills acquired.
Just gave this one a try. Such a better showing on Switch than ACIII was. On portable mode especially, it’s stunning to look at.
I wish Nintendo was still focused on hardware power. Im so sick of underperforming hardware from them.

The current gen versions launched a month after the last gen versions. The PS4 version, naturally, has a better performance and graphics set than the PS3.
The point being made is that the Switch runs the PS3-tier version, not the PS4-tier.
Why was there no mention of the procedurally generated waves that PS4 had. I'm assuming they're gone but they could have mentioned it still
The reason for 'Premier' videos is so that the video goes live at a set time and the creator can be present and watch through it with the audience and interact with everyone - Will, I'm guessing, either John or Tom be here to talk to and interact with the people watching? If not, why have it as a timed video?

This is how you port an AC game, unlike AC: 3 "remastered"
To be fair, the audio still seems to be compressed. Probably not a performance limitation though and it could handle full quality audio easily.

Maestro Roshi the difference is they barely run and are insanely pared back ! I have both on doom and Witcher on switch and they are far from ideal ! Ac4 at least isn’t neutered as such

I hope they port the original PS3 versions instead of the Xbox one and PS4 versions of AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations because the new ones sucks on terms of graphics and bugs
FIFA... There's a perfectly good reason why it isn't selling on Switch. The latest one was literally just a repackaged version of the last one on Switch. Everyone saw that, and said "You can stay the f*ck off the Switch, EA, if that's how much you care about this platform."

Fifa is not selling too well on switch BECAUSE IS A SUPER MEDIOCRE PORT! A dedicated AC game on switch would do well (if marketed correctly and maybe some bundels with the Switch Lite)

I got my switch back in 2021 and I go April 5th to hopefully set up for surgery and my switch came with Mario Odyssey and Zelda BUT it ALSO included assassin's Creed 3 remastered. I got the assassin's Creed ezio collection and my second cousin Randy passed away so suddenly before I could finish assassin's Creed 2 but I'm getting the rebel collection next week. If I end up staying in the hospital then I want to take the assassin's Creed games with me

funny thing: in assassin's creed 3 and assassin's creed rogue the vegetation reacts... it was probably cut from the last gen versions of assassin's creed 4 for marketing reasons to promote the enhanced ps4 version xD

Hi John... can you confirm in your reviews for switch moving forward which version you are testing with? We know that the Rev1 console performs a bit better now, and chances are any new buyer has that console, while the original might be even worse.
There are no performance differences between either model though. Maybe 1-2 fps but that could even be down to margin of error

@@anthonyschroeder521 I don't mean 1-2 constant though, but rather situationally (Mortal Kombat 11 is a good example). Overall though, general performance is still same on both devices
@@JackFrost-1856 ehh unlocked sure, but at the edge of capped experiences, that little bit extra can really make a big difference. Their testing on MK showed that quite a bit IMO. The cutdown in dropped frames at the edge of locked experiences was substantial, and every frame drop less is a big deal.
I guess its splitting hairs, but I would just like to know which one they are testing on. I'm not expecting them to test on both.

Well it looks like the switch in 2022 is finally getting that Ezio collection. Comes out in February 2022. Also I would love to see assassin’s creed liberty ported over to the switch. I played it on my PS Vita back in the day. It was a wonderful Game.

I was wondering why the dislikes. Agreed I really hate the premier feature. A lot of creators are just leaving CZcams statuses about upcoming videos or tease with a photo. This is a much better way than premier.
