I think the way people view David Berkowitz as a sort of success story, as he found god and religion is strange. Doesn’t matter that he’s sorry and found religion, he still murdered innocent people, in a really terrible way, can’t take that back or away. He should serve time for what he’s done, but everyone should know that he for sure did not act alone, there’s plenty of proof to show that. Should be even angrier that his accomplices are still out in public most likely.

Even David Berkowitz himself has said that he does not deserve to be paroled.

I highly doubt he'll ever be paroled. He's so institutionalized he'd never be able to make it on the outside. Not at his age. Besides that, he may not have acted alone but he did murder people. He can stay right where he is.
Agreed. "Life in Prison" should be literal. Not just a word used to describe a 10-30 year period which can be full of appeals and re-trials and this thing called 'parole'.. That P word should not be used in conjunction with another type of violent offender who's act is also spelled with a P.. Perverts and pedophiles should be getting these 15-20 years and then parole and release and actual dangerous murders should be KEPT inside there while we can stay safe in here. Those sex offenders should need to wear ankle bracelets for life and have RFID cards implanted inside them along with medical castration. And you hit the nail on the head with just how institutionalized he will be by now. Heck, to let him out would destroy him, and possibly innocents, in his attempt to get back in. He's best left leading his prison church group.

Life with the possibility of parole should be a thing just probably not for serial killers also if you ask me anyone convicted of forcing sexual contact should get the death penalty
@@_M_a_r_t_i_n_M The idea behind parole for lifers is to give them hope that if they reform and are penitent about their crimes, they have a possibility to get out. It's about behaviour control.
He's no success story. This man murdered people who wanted the chance to live out their full potential. That's not the definition of success. What else is he supposed to do in jail. He cannot murder anyone when he's locked up. You let him out. It will happen again. No guards, no friends. He would revert to his compulsion.

Never parole him, l remember what he did in NYC 1976-77, one of his victims is related to my wife.
He doesn't want to be released from prison. In fact, he asked to not have any parole hearings but for some stupid reason he doesn't have a choice. They aren't going to seriously consider releasing him anyway. Can you imagine the fear and public outrage if David Berkowitz were released into society? No matter that he's an old man now. He can still pull a trigger
Remember Apsotle Paul. He was also a murderer, and slaughtered Christians, news men women and children. He killed many and look how God changed his life when He encountered Jesus. He wrote majority of the New Testament.

No parole also means they don't have to work, have no costs to pay for food, no medical costs, and no home to pay for. Our tax dollars at work.
Yeah and the effed up media has made him a sensation. Blame lawyers and the sick educational system that made them the way they are.. They're worse than Berkowitz. The lawyers that twisted the system around and the ones in D.C. that are in the House the Senate and the Oval Office.

This is actaully one of the most disgusting "news" reports I've ever seen... This man has ruined lives and families, yet the people at this affiliate are making it out like he's this "epic success story"?! This is the kind of reporting that pushes people to become criminals in the first place. Garbage like this makes me glad i stopped watching TV. Netflix did a much better job covering this guys vicious crimes.
Not a lot of criminals are sorry for what they’ve done being locked up gives people time to really think about what they’ve done . Arthur Shawcross killed all those people and 2 children!! and had no remorse and both showed and told them in his interview now that was disgusting and heartless !

Exactly, and part of the problem is societies obession with people like this, they've read everything they can and are hoping for a new way to keep his star burning bright, so these he didn't act alone stories and cover ups come.
He's stated himself he acted alone, but in interviews he's changed his mind and said I don't want to get into the forces of evil, implying others may have been involved.
This is just to add to his own Mystique, which kind of shows finding God is just a cover, the real him loves his own notoriety.
There were no more killings after he was arrested.

I'd guess he was a man desperate for attention, couldn't get a girlfriend, consumed with rage and jealousy in process of a mental breakdown, who one day snapped after seeing lovers in cars and he was desperately alone, so shot them.
Expecting to be caught, but because of the randomness of the crime he got away with it, so this gave him the feeling of power and control, so he did it again and again..
The letters he sent were the ramblings of a madman, desperate for attention and he was getting it
If the Lord can forgive a man like Paul who wrote the vast majority of the New testament and who killed far more people than David who are we and he that we can't be forgiven.

Most prisons have that. "Greens" they call them. Is he in New York state? Cuz if so that's exactly what they wear here.

@@atomicplaygirl66 Trust me. They're NOT comfortable. I went in at 16 and was there for 3 years. Those greens suck. The seams are rough the collar is scratchy leaving red rings on your neck. The buttons fall off super easy and don't get me started about the seam in the nether region area of the pants. Trust me. Stick with your Dickies. Also I love greens and cornbread.

Believe me I'm glad too. Haha. Actually I learned a lot in there.ngave me time to get in shape too. had the sickest abs at 19 when I came home so meh.

I remember that summer and lived right across the Hudson River in West New York, NJ....the girls in my neighborhood stopped hanging out on my block at night.....It was considered he would hit NJ at one point....

There is a ray of hope to see that God and Christ are still here doing their work, and salvaging souls where possible. Even within prisons and death row. All the while down here, humanity just continues to turn their backs on salvation more and more and willingly.
To see The Son of Sam become a church elder within the prison church group, just goes to show that there IS, THERE IS SOMETHING, out there. Something which binds us all and something which drives this entire universe we call home. The pull towards home is strong. Yes, people in those prison groups have literally no hope otherwise, but it goes to show that Christ is there to provide comfort to ALL who may need or want it. Remember people, it is through militaries, working people and even slaves how the word of Christ grew. People who know nothing but hardship. It is to them who Christ so appeals. To use The Word as a means of control and manipulation is an evil beyond redemption, it is true sin.
