That poor mother having to watch her son getting put down. That must be every parents worst nightmare. Regardless of what the man did, She still sees the little boy she raised. So sad for her.

I figured that would go without saying... While watching this video I am talking about HIS MOTHER. i'm not legitimizing his crimes, I am pointing out that it's a tragedy his mother would see her boy put to death, And that simple aspect alone. YES of course its horrible that the victims families had to go through the same thing, but this video is on his MOTHER. So... because of that ATM I am focusing on his mother's emotions. At NO point did I say i feel worst for her than the other families, or that what he did was legitimate, All i am doing is sympathizing with her seeing her son die because that is what THIS video is about. If this video was about the victims of who he killed I would be sympathizing with them.. It should go without mention that the other family went through a terrible thing as well.

But all of those things can happen after someone has already been executed.

"Five-word-long" is correct, but not accurate. The title is four words long, unless you include the name of the program, which makes it six. If you include the name of the channel on which the program aired (considering "MSNBC" a word), it's seven. So, overall, the title of the video is *seven* words long. Under no interpretation can it be five.
Now, because even a broken spellcheck is right twice a day, I'll commend you on the one thing you and your thread got right: there are two flaws in said title.

If you watch the movie "Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman" there is a scene where a British soldier is talking about the difference between watching someone hang and shooting someone in combat. He says the difference is "in the knowing". He then explains that it's the look in their eyes that they know with absolute certainty that they are going to die. I think as human beings we all have at least some empathy towards others, no matter what evil they have done, and would be affected when we are looking at someone who is just about to die.

There wasn't anyone there to witness the deaths of his victims, either. The good news is he won't (like CA's death row inmates) get to live another nanosecond at taxpayer expense. As to the SOB's being alone at his death--so are most people. Even those in nursing homes or hospitals can be alone at their moment of passing, so don't weep copious tears over a convicted murderer. By the way, he could have had the prison chaplain or a priest at his side, unless he declined their presence.

Well, if there is "even the shade of a doubt" of guilt, people are not supposed to be convicted in the first place. Just the same, innocent victims often are and some are even exonerated years later. The advent of DNA evidence brought on a MAJOR flurry of exonerations, even though the justice system fought viciously against re-opening such cases. Presumably they thought it was better to leave innocent folks in prison, or even execute them, just so prosecutors wouldn't look bad. If wrongfully convicted live people are exonerated they can at least be pardoned. Executed innocent people can (and have been) exonerated too, though it doesn't do them much good, does it?
More than enough of an argument against capital punishment in my opinion.

I was an executioner as a guard in 3 different Soviet prisons, including famous Black Dolphin. A group of usually 10 senior guards were in a "death pool" & you were chosen at random, & if you agreed to do it, you were to first read the warrant to the condemned then you ordered them to their knees and without any warning fire a Makarov pistol into the brain behind the right ear into the cerebellum, or brain stem. The convict died before their body started to fall forward. I doubt they even heard the shot it was so quick. All done in a soundproofed cell with no furniture but a pad for the condemned knees. I personally preformed 9 executions, and was in line for Chikatilo. I didn't get picked for him. As far as taking another's life it was sometimes disturbing so we had a priest who would council people after an execution.

What is worse watching executions or talking about them to the media.I'll pass on both.Sounds like a bad job from the Twilight zone.

If you live in Saudi Arabia the executioner's job is to physically behead humans in a public square with a sword for crimes no more serious than stealing something or praying to different gods. They advertised for executioners when l lived there

Somebody who has watched the execution of hundreds of people? That's disturbing in and of itself.

They simply fall asleep in death. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says...” For the living know that they will die, but the dead KNOW NOTHING AT ALL...”
