@@powpow9560 I get where you are coming from everyone did say Maury went off the rails a bit, with all the connecting A to B so B must have known C and D. But some of those same people that said Maury went off the rails, and was obsessed with the case said that Maury was onto something when it came to the sketches, and that he was right more times than he was wrong. And if speaking of there were 5 different sketches they got from witnesses none of those sketches really looked like David Berkowitz, even the mayor at the time of Berkowitz arrest said that Berkowitz did not look like any of the recent sketches. I definitely believe both John and Michael Carr was both involved in the shootings, may be even 2 others based off the sketches.

Unfortunately, the Bronx was Burning Down, the Gangs took over our Neighborhood, a Heatwave that caused the '77 Blackout and the .44 Caliber Killer aka "Son of Sam" made for a truly memorable summer (for all the wrong reasons)!!!
      I will never, ever forget

As it was said, this kind of personality is what draws people to him. This is how he gains peoples trust. There is no known cure for psychopathy.
I cannot speak for this man, but if he was to hypothetically be released, there is no telling what he would do. To give perspective, this cordiality is exactly how he would act in person. How he would draw people in. A person who you would credit as being your best friend, the best human being you know, a person who would give you his own shirt off his back until he kills you and your family for his own pleasure, rinse and repeat.

Your gut isn’t telling you anything. You have a preconceived notion about this man based off his history and a society that tells you people like him are beyond redemption. I don’t know why it’s so difficult for someone to believe that an all powerful God who literally spoke life into existence is capable of transforming someone’s heart. A man who had a true desire to do harm would be chomping at the bit to be released on parole to continue his reign of terror. David has refused to even attend his parole board hearings and on a few occasions even demanded there not even be a hearing. I see a man who displays genuine remorse for his actions and has done what he can to reach other inmates in an attempt to help turn their lives around. At the end of the day, his reformation is between him and God, but when someone has such a dramatic transformation from the evil they used to live in, it’s hard to deny its authenticity.

Weird how shooting 8 people dead was such a huge deal back then. Now a US school shooter kills more than this every month and we all just accept it

Y'know this kind of *was* 40 years ago.
He's definitely different that he was back then. Some criminals don't change. They stay bitter and angry, all the way up until they die, like Richard Ramirez. But David? He's kinda different. He definitely doesn't deserve to get out of prison, but even if he did, there's a small chance he'd even do anything. He's past that point in his life now. I'm sure all he wants to do now is do his time, pass on, and find peace in the afterlife.

It is hard for anybody to fathom what you would do if the perpetrator of A killing of someone you knew or you yourself would do in this situation. but I would love to be able to say to someone like that. I forgive you. It would be really hard. Time wounds all heals but to carry hate on your shoulder is the greatest wound. It is easier to forgive and move on and try to make some kind of semblance of life rather than living with another added burden !

Not going to lie, I actually think he is remorseful and I think he has probably helped a lot of inmates. Not excusing what he did and neither is he.
