Whats hilarious is the way they talk, its two guys back in the neighborhood sharing some time together and talking. No pretension, just talk. Love this pod.
Dealt with berkowitz for years at Sullivan correctional facility. B north cell 233 he got transferred out a couple years ago. Delivered his newspaper and thousands of letters from fans all around the world. He was very respectful and nice.
Dang very cool to see your post.. I could ask a million questions
We don't know how much of the son of Sam story is true.
Heard the comedian from Brooklyn Chris DeStefano talk about how his uncle by marriage was in prison with Berkie. Swears he said he shot & killed all those people. But had help. 😮
It was such a scary and uncertain time in the 70’s. I feel like we’re starting to relive this in today’s times.
Just two legends from the neighborhood spitting knowledge for us youngsters! I'm soaking it in. Thanks guys.
Enjoy the today's episode.
There was a movie ‘summer of Sam’ too with John leguizamo
Really? Tell us more, Mr. Science.
Having faith and trust in christ has kept me focused and happy
Amen!
These 2 guys together is a great combination 👌👌🇮🇪
I wasn't even born yet when that happened. But I lived in Maryland during the DC Sniper (some of the shootings happened in Maryland). And after a child was shot my mom was afraid of driving me to school.
My mom was in DC when he was caught. Her and her friends heard on the radio and they started celebrating. Man were they glad he got caught.
There are several movies about son of sam. one of them being "summer of sam" directed by michael imperioli which is quite good. he is probably most famous for playing christopher moltisanti in sopranos.
This episode is the foundation for the whole pod. Beautiful!
Lovely to hear Michael opening up the way he did. Thank you. What a life he has led & can just imagine the interesting stories he won’t mention. Great show. Love these gentlemen 🏴
They also did a feature film guys. “S.O.S.” Spike Lee John Leguizamo Adrien Brody shot in NYC it was actually a decent film.
Great film I remember watching it as a teenager. Memories 😊
I'd say Adam and John's best performances hands down.
A little mob, or rather, mob movie connection to that is "Summer of Sam" was written in part by Michael Imperioli who, of course, played Christopher Moltisanti in the Sopranos, and Spider in Goodfellas. He wrote it alongside Victor Colicchio and then of course Spike Lee added his touches to it.
It was a Spike Lee joint
Throgs Neck was one of the areas. I lived there.
I could listen these two fellas all day
The week he was caught was burning up hot & there was a blackout. Everyone was on the street those nights. The fear was palpable.
There was a movie based loosely on The Son of Sam ( Summer of Sam) back in 2000 directed by spike lee & co written by Michael Imperioli.
Starring John Leguizamo,
Adrien Brody ,Mira Sorvino ,Jennifer Esposito,Michael Rispoli &
Brian Tarantina .
Al Palagonia
Ken Garito as Brian
Bebe Neuwirth,
Mike Starr ,Anthony LaPaglia ,
Roger Guenveur Smith ,Curt Atwater
Ben Gazzara ,
Joe Lisi ,
James Reno as Crony
Arthur Nascarella &
Michael Badalucco
I remember being 8 or 9yrs old & living in the Bay Area and just seeing on tv every channel talking about the Son of Sam, how many people he has killed, the power going out in the whole entire NYC and while the city didn’t have lights, people were looting in the streets, it looked like NYC was falling apart Those were some crazy times that i remember witnessing growing up!
Odd how one guy can cripple a huge city.
Every one of your episodes is so compelling and inspirational. It’s obvious you two have a wonderful relationship and your interaction makes the stories even better! Thank you!
Thank you both for giving your time. I truly enjoy each episode
More of these untold stories please. Thanks

(Liverpool, England)
Great episode, thank you....I love you guys!
Thank you both! Great as usually!! Be well
Great show guys. I have now subscribed and look forward to the next episodes..
Something that is rare but I appreciate so much here. Both of you are comfortable with Mics. Each of you speak clearly and into the Mics. Making it easy to hear. Thank you both.
While New York had Son of Sam, we had the Hillside Stranglers at the same time in L.A. Those animals killed a friend of mine, Lauren Wagner. We graduated high school that year, and they grabbed her a block away from her own house - which was two miles away from me. L.A. was gripped in fear like I'd never seen. Lauren was a friendly, popular, extremely likable girl and only seventeen.
Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us Michael. I appreciate both of you for this podcast. You guys have been my life coaches as of late hahah
Outstanding and authentic conversation guys. Thank you for sharing.
Chazz and Michael are just so interesting to listen to. So many experiences and such insights into the life that shaped them. Thanks to both of you. God Bless you both. It worked out interesting as I was planning to watch a Bronx Tale tonight. No matter how long I've been watching there is always something new that I heard. Can't wait to see the Son of Sam interview!
I loved this so much . David and I have been writing back and forth for over a year now the Lord led me to write him and it is a true blessing! I’m so grateful to call David my dear brother in Christ and good friend thank you so much Michael for your testimony nothing is impossible for Christ God bless you both ❤️🙏
Just a really well done and fantastic show Chazz and Michael. I really am enjoying it. Merry Christmas!🎄❤️🇺🇲
Wonderful interview! Thank you, Michael, for sharing. There is more personal info about Berkowitz on that website that shares his life story.
Such an awesome episode. God bless you both and May all the angels in heaven bless your dad Michael. 🙏🙏🙏
Very interesting and easy to understand on any level- thank you both
i really believe that David Berkowitz is truly remorseful and is a genuine born again. I've watched all his interviews and I really believe he has changed. Even murderers can changer through the power of faith.
I think so too. It's rare among serial killers but I don't think he was completely devoid of a conscience either.
The Power of God's Anointing. The Holy Spirit. It delivers a person from bad thinking. Causes true Repentance. Which is a change of thinking. Also, The Anointing or Holy Spirit runs of evolution spirits or demons. Deliverance happens.
....Faith in Jesus Christ alone.
But what has blown my mind was He Got Convicted in 7 Second Degree Murder and only received 25 to Life with The Possibility of of Parole after 25 years. He must be pretty bad still because he been there 40 Years now.
John Jr. Has said the His Dad Died by choking on His own Blood and Vomit…
Always love the stories gentlemen. I can personally relate in my own journey back to Christ to a lot of what was shared. God bless both of you! Really enjoyed this one!
I would love to see a show of you two interviewing David Berkowitz maybe you could arrange it with the bureau of prisons to do a live or recorded interview then put it on your show I think you would get a million views over night
So great👍
Thank you Michael and Chaz.
Great show today, love watching you two!
Glad you liked it.
Great ep Mike and Chaz per usual

What I came from was from alcoholism, a party animal , as Christian I had meet people from different backgrounds and the genuine conversion is legit like you Mr. Franzese . I hope more are coming and please for both I’m asking to pray for Israel 🙏🏼may the Lord always be with both and your lovely family.
Elaphas disco in Queens!
The dogs name wasn’t Sam, the dogs owners name was Sam. I was scared in 1977 too. The whole neighborhood was.
I remember hearing that at the time, when the Son of Sam killer emerged, many people, who moved to NYC from the San Francisco Bay Area, thought that the Zodiac killer went to NYC; the Zodiac killer was doing the same type of killings in the Bay Area from 1968 to 1970.
Berkowitz admitted he took heavy inspiration from Zodiac as well as other well known killers ( he was a true crime/pulp fiction novel reader since childhood)
Amazing episode.
Making a difference...please keep it going guys!
Love you both very entertaining keep up the good work God Bless
Thanks guys. God bless.
Fascinating to listen to this from the perspective of two guys that LIVED there! If you guys ever want to watch a movie based around Son of Sam that is really good, check out Summer of Sam from 1999.
Awesome straight from the hip no nonsense Thanks Gents God Bless!
Much love and respect
I think I met him as a kid in the Bronx, in Co-Op City! . . Don't forget one of the best movies ever. 'Summer of Sam' by Spike Lee!
Aside from the made-for-t.v. movie, there was a Spike Lee joint called “Summer of Sam” back in 1999, too. It was written by, among others, Michael “Spider Moltisanti” Imperioli, and starred John Leguizamo, Adrien Brody, Jennifer Esposito, Mira Sorvino and, “Jackie Aprile” himself, Michael Rispoli.
Love your show! Would you both know anything about Richie The Boot Boiardo? from Newark NJ?
@-Direct-Message310 text you on that 201 number?
I enjoyed every minute you are both immense and I loved it David Porter
We're happy to hear that.
Thanks for this edifying read it was treat.💥💥💥
You're very much welcome.
VERY INSIGHTFULL..🙏
I was barely 8 years old when he was caught. I remember everything like it was yesterday. Last victim was in Brooklyn, NY. He was a marksmen. The dogs name was Harvey. The owner’s name was Sam Carr. Who’s two son’s where named John, and Michael Carr. Look at the sketches. David Berkowitz, said he was nervous when he was on camera.
Both of you rock and roll. Truth is beautiful.
I'm a Catholic at 56 years of age and I'm not a church fanatic, I don't go every week but I know deep down that my faith is strong and not up for question. My morals are steered by my faith and so is my compassion. Its funny but I never realised why I'd pick up a purse ( which happened on more than one occasion) and I'd get it back to its owner because I knew deep down I'd get no joy of spending someone else's money. I work outdoors and a old man/lady would come out on the step and I'd give them 10mins of my time knowing I could be the only person they would speak to on that day. Am I the prodigal son...no far from it but I'd question why I had this moral compass and it comes back to the same thing, my faith.
.44 special??? And then doubled down with "I always remembered that"
People often have to hit rock bottom to find the courage to make the changes they need to. God saved my life (many times) and He saved my soul. I got saved after being at gunpoint and knowing this time was it. It was different and I felt the presence of death. God miraculously intervened. He is good. Love the podcasts.
May God bless you and Chazz and your families always 🙏 in your life journey. You both are doing God's work. 😊
☝️😏👍 Fascinating, had my full attention the whole time.
Great story !
My brother was fishing off of bay 8th street on shore road Brooklyn and he hear the shots. Stacy Moskowitz was shot but not dead and her boy friend was alive in complete shock and then some wise guys came up to them and asked if they seen the guy who shot this woman. This was a rough time for the people in the area and people where all caught up in this and at the time I was in the Marine's in North Carolina and heard on TV and the papers .
great video and episode watchen right now lso great tables in the back with sammy part 2 as well god bless be safe there
Enjoy watching. God bless you!
There was a Son Of Sam movie that came out in the early 2000's called Summer Of Sam.
One of my favorite movies
Talk about the biggest example of not only wasting your own talent but taking away others ability to show their talents.
CHAZZ YOU ARE GREAT ONE OF THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE IS OSCAR THAT WAS JUST HALLOURS. NEED TO MAKE A
GREAT ONE LIKE THAT I WOULD WATCH IT IN A SECOND!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
I get the feeling you guys are lifetime friends even though you not that is awesome
I love Franzese and Palminteri. Years ago in my early 20's, i unkowingly worked for mob guys. Long story. The crazy thing is, i would always laugh and make fun of them because i thought they were goofy Italian guys who wanted to be mosters so bad that they talked that way and acted like mobsters. I was so young and naive. Turned out, they were mobsters. Mobsters that HBO made a show about. They were kind to me and i truly believed they respected me because i stood up for myself. I honestly had no idea.
They did do a movie. It’s called summer of sam. Spike Lee directed it
Great show. GOD bless you guys. Proud you are living for GOD.
Two legends of the mafia. One in the movies and one in real life.
Where can you see that interview with son of Sam
Hey gentlemen, much love and respect. Love anytime I get to hear Mr. Franzese speak or tell a story. However, A little correction though, the moniker " son of Sam " comes from his neighbor Sam Karr , who owned the dog, hence the name " Son of Sam"
Just finished a book that is trying to prove that he didn't act alone...Great podcast guys 👍
YOu should throw it away because it's been totally debunked. Maury Terry was a trash liar.
He acted alone
Which? Ultimate evil?
@@Icantremelmebrmdef not
@@JohnJames_23 yes he did
I heard that there may be other people involved.
Amazing story ,you are good son
I have heard it said before that some people at their full strength will never recognize their weakness and need for Jesus, but when their weakness is exposed through sickness or circumstance, they may open up and see their need for a Savior
Never give up on staring the Good News
Much respect to both of you. Keep sharing Jesus!
They covered the Mafia's involvement with the hunt for the Son of Sam in rhe movie Summer of Sam with John Leguizamo and Mira Sorvino..
I need advice about my father . If I should seek out to him or if I should just leave it be .
That was a awesome testimony. Our God is great. If Jesus can change Saul the hunter Christian killer Phrisee into Paul the Apostle whom wrote a very good portion of the new testament of the Bible. He can Change The son of Sam David Berkowitz and Michael Franzese or anyone else that seeks him. I wasn't even seeking the Lord when I was saved. I was attending a Baptism at United Penecost Church. The spirit of God fell on me like a ton of bricks. It change my life forever. There's a camp in Running springs called Camp Cedar Crest. It's a Christian camp and 90% of the men that attend look like there straight out of prison. But let me tell you. They love the Lord.
Hi Michael & Chazz! The both of you are a wonderful duo. I saw a Netflix documentary on Berkowitz in which the Satan cult was explored. I’m glad that he’ll remain in prison.
The satanic cult is a myth.
Thanks for watching today's episode.
I have two connections to Berkowtiz. Stacey Moskowitz graduated with my uncle and my dad was NYPD at the time. He was young cop who they had working undercover at the time. They would put male and female officers as decoys. So, you can see my interest. Thanks for the episode.
Gotti refused to believe bc he knew he would be judged for what he had done and he feared what that would mean for his soul. God is real.
Long live the wise and the wise guy.
Thank you so much!
Is a documentary on Netflix talking about the might have multiple people doing the sos killing
Please do Outwitting the devil by Napoleon hilll
My life is so great with God. So much peace and LOVE. God tells us you can see people by their fruits. My brother was diabolically murdered. I do struggle with it.
When you are in jail you hit bottom, and that you either sink or reach up..alot that become reborn Christians truly knows the forgiveness, because when you get forgiven for lot of bad the more thankful and humble it can be. In jail you have the time to either sink or reach up to be saved, still have the choice. Sad when some want to stay in the dark.
Was a young kid on long island and every one was on high alert. A crazy time.
