- Welcome back to another episode of The Wise and The Wiseguy with Chazz Palminteri and Michael Franzese. In today's discussion, Chazz brings up an interesting observation about the surge in podcasts featuring individuals claiming mob connections. They distinguish between legitimate figures like Sammy the Bull and themselves and what they term as "disappointed" or fake Wise Guys who are gaining legitimacy through these platforms. Michael emphasizes the relatively small size of the genre and discusses the unspoken rules from the old times, highlighting the importance of avoiding discussions about the mafia on social media. The conversation takes a turn to discuss past events involving law enforcement, and Michael shares insights into the unwritten codes and the consequences of violating them, shedding light on the dynamics of the mob world. Stay tuned for more engaging conversations from The Wise and The Wiseguy.

I love this show.I'm 83 it brings back memories of some wise guys that I met .My father was a doctor one of his patients was Vito Genovese in Asbury Park NJ .Vito had been hiding in Italy during the war when he first came back to the states in 1945 he came to Asbury Park before moving to Highlands. I met Willie Moretti as my grandfather was his landscape gardener. I was 10 years old when he invited me into his home for cookies and milk six months later he was gunned down. Being in the construction business down at the Jersey Shore I met Pussy Russo and John Riggi . In the late seventies I fished in Bimini Bahamas .In the Bimini Big Game club I sat and shook hands with Tony Big Tuna Accardo We shared the same Charter boat captain.
Wow!! That's really cool!
As a kid in the 70s, I remember Vito Genovese living a few blocks away in Atlantic Highlands. Good Ole days
@@bklyncowboy2925did you visit Acton Park?
Great story. Thanks for sharing that with us!
OMG this is so cool
Palminteri was such a natural in the Bronx Tale, he had to be connected. He's just a wise wiseguy!
Anyone that ever makes a comment about these guys or to these guys saying they glorify the mafia or any people at all those that say that are purely resentment saturated. There jealous because they were not important or done anything substantial or popular. It's just history. The good and uncomfortable. So don't be jealous of these interesting and awesome individuals! if you don't like it. Keep moving. Love you guys. America is the best 🙏💯🇺🇸
Welcome back. I could listen to both of you all day. So many great stories. I am so fascinated with that Era that after I bought your book Blood Covenant my book library is growing with Mafia books. All are so interesting.
Your fascinated with an evil despicable way of living you should direct your energy on more positive things then idiolizing that lifestyle they don’t glorify it
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE, "STORIES"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE, "STORIES"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Pat647 your absolutely right.
You guys have great chemistry. You're both very personable, entertaining, and downright enjoyable.
Michael, complete respect to you. God bless you, sir.
Chazz, I've always enjoyed your movies. You are always a scene stealer, and I mean that in the most complimentary way.
Good to see your guys together again. 💪💪💪
These two gentlemen can easily make 4 hour videos sharing their life wisdom & I would watch every second of it

Love your podcast guy it's awesome and Michael is right it's a great part of history the good the bad and the ugly but it's history and it's intoxicating it draws you in
This channel is criminally underrated (no pun intended).
I'd love to hear your perspective on the so called 'synoptic problem', and Lee's as well.
These 2 guys are Awesome 💙🙏
Curious much? yes!... interesting listening from across the Pond
👍🏽 🇬🇧
Missed you!
Mike I’m still waiting for the painting 🖼️🔥🔥!!!
Mikey Scars was a made guy as well.
In terms of Mafia type movies, I recently watched Once Upon a Time in America and I didn't even finish it because the craziness of the back story wasn't worth getting to the end for me.
I needed some Wisdom
I think to myself
If you think you get a glimpse at the life by watching Goodfellas, Casino, etc..., just watch this channel and get a proper schooling...
Thank you Mr Palminteri and Mr Franzese.
Good bless yous guys and yous family
"A Man of Honor" was Joe Bonano's book. "Honor thy Father" was Bill Bonano's book.
P.s. I got my tshirt I love it with both of you on the back... I'll post a photo in IG tomorrow... Thurs....👍
The Mafia is part of history, just as the Confederate States are. Neither is being glorified, but people are curious. Enjoy your videos. Stay safe. God bless you and yours 🙏
The wise & the wiser
I’m from MA and I loved Black Mass. The rest of my friends, besides one Tony, hated it. I thought it was great.
TY Gentlemen 🍷🍷
Correction needed there Mike, Larry was connected with Greg Scarpa
Chaz might not have been made but Sonny definitely taught him well💪🏿
He should have passed on by now I knew him 45 + years ago he was a Wise-Guy! An Honest Wise-Guy A good man !
Hold up, you said that Larry Mazza was close with Vic Orena? Wasn't Larry Mazza close to Greg Scarpa, who was a Persico loyalist? I could be wrong, or maybe I'm confused?
Did I say Vic Orena? My bad. I meant Greg Scarpa. A senior moment!😂
You guys should try to do these in person together much
better for the viewers
Mike what's up with the Nikey Shirt,Since Kapernick and Nikes Partnership, Iam Underarm ,Champion etc.
Chazz my dead said the same thing. Gangster were like cowboys!!!
OC is great though guys
The damage has been done
From third hand sources, Gambino would drink his strong coffee and meet with other people. The Police commented, you could feel the power coming from the area wherever he was. A small man, but his power was huge. Interesting, listening to the real made men. The mafia was the parallel Govt. They chose judges, Union leaders and controlled so many industries.
Joe Bonanno's book was called "A Man of Honor".....which to me is kinda crazy cuz he gave up all of the mobs secrets of the structure and it helped bring the mob down so Idk how he would name it a man of honor lol 🤦♂️
I love wen you guys do your show , glad to see you guys back at it
Larry was really made during the war , but only by his faction , Carmine said get him recognized cus him n greg were doing most of the work . They didn’t prick his finger cus Greg had aids , n told him after the wars over will have to do the ceremony again . That’s why they say he wasn’t really made. But he def was ! Larry was a great guy , you’d never think he was a killer ! N idk how you guys didn’t run into eachother cus Larry was wit greg from the late 70s to the 90s n he was wit greg everyday !! Would love to see you guys sit down !!
G Robert Blakey not Debakey lol...Joe banono book was Man of Honor not something my father lmao😂😂
How about Don Principai ?
Michael, Chazz , if you think that "Black matter " with Depp was dull , then what You's think about Scorsese's "Irishman"? I think it beats it in dullness.
What You reckon?
Michael forgot DiLeonardo lol
Superb actor
The Aim was True No Problem
I cant really see what took Just Go Picture , Its Place... Im Sorry My Phone Sucks. Im Sorry My Bad.
WOW - I remember watching the Al Capone vault, live. HUGE Fail!!! Still funny.
Proper and courteous in London? 😂
As a former black cab driver the most courteous and polite people I ever encountered was the yanks.
I’d like to get your guys autograph ✍🏻
You guys and sammy should do a film
I've never been in the mafia, exactly what a mobster would say lol
Johnny Cash??
I take you have not seen the state london in
Not "Robert de bakey," mike. It's G. Robert Blakey
Mazza was a Persico guy, not Vic Arena. He was with Scarpa. Michael knows, he just misspoke.
Mike - Larry Mazza was with Greg Scarpa and with the Persico faction. He killed Nicky Black on Avenue U in Bensonhurst. I know this is your own family but you were locked up during the war.
If you denied history you are doomed to repeat it that’s a fact.
Nobody will remember their names when it pops off ..be to hungry
The offer was a TV Series not movie.
Spread the knowledge ya can't teach this kind of history
Mickey scars are made
Not something I would have supported in any way myself, but just to add to what Michael said; there was also Meyer Lansky and the large amount of support he gave to Israel in its early years only to be refused the right to move there in retirement !!
Michael. If you guys hit geraldo, you would have saved American troops lives 20 years back.... Love you Mike. Thank you for the content
Question for Michael: What was the most significant betrayal you saw/experienced within the life?
The whole "mob didn't deal drugs" thing is just not true. They may not were supposed to, but they were nonetheless big time. Nicky Barnes was supplied by the Lucchese family.
Mafioso Johny boy Alite true Cosa Nostra no doubt tough hit guy
Did micheal ever do his mini seruis or movie 20 bucks hes outta your life forgood got him cheap love that life lesson
Was Frank Culatta a made man?
He had a YT Chanel before he died.
Play with Dion from Dion and the Belmont all the people or performers that we're supposed to be on the last tour with Buddy Holly Ritchie Valens and the Big bopper would have filled up a 747 jumbo jet
Mike is spot on with the numbers. I'm one of those fringe guy myself but I did more gangster shit than any ten of those made guys. I Doug talk about other guys but I get ky share of haters and detractors, Mike we had lunch in LA last year. Need to come see you, this year when the doc drops
I'm a made guy. God made me, and only him do I answer to.
Is Franzese a Pastor?
the heck with Cambino tONY aRCARDO never spent a day in jail AND LASTED 50 OR MORE YEARS IN THAT LIFE AND MADE MILLIONS S$$$
Scarfo did whack a judge
They didn't like talking on the phone, much less social media. They weren't on the internet..there was none. LOL😅MARONE! LOL. Sorry Chazz. All the ignorant folks think every Italian is connected. Especially NY Italians. My dad and uncle ran legit businesses. Worked their asses off! They never got rich either, just middle-class. Ridiculous.
Made guys in italy they don't advertise it 😅
????? WHAT?
Joj jesili ikad bio u Italiji?
In Italy the mafias Camorra, Albanians etc OPENLY say it. It’s very common
i bet he dont wanna Gloryfi it
Chaz made doesn’t mean they were “real” guys. A lot of guys got made that never should have been made. You know that. I agree there are a lot of wanna bees on CZcams but being made is t the deciding factor.
yeah there are also some guys around who definitely lived it and have legit stories and never happened to become members. it's not a deciding factor
HOW ABOUT THEM NY KNICKS 🏀
