I am replacing an older deadbolt with the 250 which looks ideal. Though I wish the "Kwikset" button only showed a padlock symbol like on the Powerbolt 240.

Is there a page that mentions the difference of Powerbolt and SmartCode? E.g., PB 250 vs SC 260.

Hi Jon - The Powerbolt 250 is BHMA Grade 3 certified and can up to 25 User Codes. The SmartCode 260 is BHMA Grade 2 certified, can hold up to 50 User Codes, and is also available in the Contemporary style. Here's a link to the SmartCode 260 Installation Video for more details: kwik.st/3P3EYAv Thanks ~ Kwikset Social

Just installed this lock, but the bolt will only work when the key is IN the lock. The code works perfectly & the bolt works great with the code locking & unlocking, but again for some reason the key has to be IN the lock for that to work. When we take the key out & put the code in, it acts like it wants to work, but it just keeps making a sound & the bolt try’s to go in & out, but it never does.
    Any suggestions?

Hi and here to help! Please open the door, lock it, and remove the keys. Remove the interior assembly of the lock and ensure that the flat blade is in the vertical position. Next, reinstall the interior keeping the keys removed. Replace batteries, Factory Reset, and perform the Door Rehanding in Steps 16 and 15. Lastly, reprogram the User Code in Step 6: kwik.st/3ufrVUT Thanks ~ Kwikset Social
