    Had a Victa that had been sitting around for years that didn't want to start. Thanks to your video, I was able to diagnose which of the carb parts needed replacing and with your 5 Piece Carb Kit, the carb is now serviced and she kicked over first time. Cheers.

    Very informative guide to Victa carbies. Your step by step instructions are easy to follow and the excellent camera work adds confirmation and clarity to the clip. As with all of your videos, very well done guys.

    Thanks for these videos. Pulled the carby apart and cleaned everything. It was absolutely gummed up. Mower working again, better then it has in years. Not bad for 25+ plus Victa. I was on the verge of buying a new mower.

    Good description but there is an annoying clicking sound in the background. The poppet valve as you described has the 3 positions and in order to get a proper idle I have also installed a brass shim washer to get a good idle with no issues on high revs.

    Great video and was well explained and you covered a lot of items that i.e (A B C) have been missed so I have ordered a full carby kit from you to fix the next door neighbours Victa after his son worked on it and now wont go after losing the needle in the lawn and then stuffing up his other identical Victa which now wont go.. Thanks a lot.. well done

    I turned the poppet 'A' next to square notch, is ok but seems to now be an extremely sensitive throttle, tiny movements produce dramatic engine speed changes, you can slow it down to a very slow idle still, but because of the sensitivity, hard to get the precise engine speed you want relative to the work load..it also seems a little heavy on petrol...I know all Victa 2-strokes are by nature heavier on juice than a Briggs 4-stroke but seems thirsty even for Victa 160cc.
    Meanwhile, I have solved the original issue which was cut-out from apparent kill-switch short-out at all but max throttle when warmed up. Have kill-switch unction at the appropriate throttle position only now.

    Thanks for this video, i have been given 2 of these mowers, i don't really need them as i have a dozen or so assorted mowers that i have got going, but i like doing them, however, i have not had this type of Victor of this type before. one of them is a big one with a large separate tank, looking forward to doing this up.thanks again.

    I followed the guide to lining up the poppet valve but some poppet valves are different They only have an A & C. And its the "C" that needs to be lined up with the jet hole otherwise the engine will over rev!

    Hello, my uncles victa 160 has starting issues and when it does start, it revs like crazy and runs the fuel tank out fast. We have checked the carb o rings, even got varietech metal float needle, air filters, snorkel, fuel lines...which all seems fine. The decompressor was blocked off years ago and was running ok. Can you suggest any ideas? Thanks

    Great Video. I purchased an 8 parts repair kit for my G4 carburettor and installed as per the video. My mower will not start with the normal priming and accelerator in the start position. To start I place the accelerator in the full on position. To maintain the revs I have got to move the accelerator up and down continually. Please advise on this problem.

    No matter what I do I cannot get the cap at 5:30 in your video to seat firmly. I can't detect any damage on any of the parts, it just won't seat like it should. Notice also that the breather (?) hose wasn't connected to the engine, does that make a big difference in the running of a powertorque engine?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 9 lety

      +Roonza Car The breather hose is part of the governing system on the Victa Engine, If it is disconnected the mower will usually rev higher. If the cap and carby body are clean and you cannot push the cap on you can use a sharp knife to carefully scrap some plastic off the inner diameter of the cap making it easier to fit. It can sometimes be very difficult to fit these caps and starting in one spot and working the cap down as you move around the body is the best method.

    • @roonzacar7276
      @roonzacar7276 Před 9 lety

      Thanks boys, great video by the way. I have done 3 or 4 of these before and the cap has gone on without too may difficulties, this one is proving a nightmare. Eventually got it on but now the ball end of the throttle cable has come out of its hole, this after sealing end cap and connecting the electrical wires. Do I need to start again or can I get the ball end to sit where it needs to?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 9 lety

      +Roonza Car The best way is unfortunately to start again as you cannot see where the ball needs to go with the cap and diaphragm in place

    I got 2 stroke victa mower , its starting alright but engine running not fast enough.done replace diaphragm , jet nuzzle and orings!!!
    any idea please ?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 7 lety +1

      Slow running is usually due to a air fuel mixture problem, In most cases it is either too little air entering the carburetor due to a very dirty air filter or blocked intake pipe or too much fuel getting into the engine due to a carburetor fault.

      @@Pushmowerrepair G'day, the carby shown in this video has no such adjustable side cap cover over the diaphragm. Those caps covers get lost and replaced over the years with that new style you have in this video. From the body itself, is there a way to tell visually from the G4 and LM do you know? cheers.
