    Hi and thank you.
    This video maybe nearly a decade old when I watched it, but it helped me so much.
    I'm in the UK and have only ever worked on 2 Victa 2 stroke mowers (including the one I have on the bench now), and this really helped me understand about the carb and why it won't shut off.
    Looks like I need to do a complete strip down and clean because of those electrical contacts inside the carb.
    Also my one has had ethanol run through it, so the float bowl seal has expanded and doesn't fit properly, so I need to get a new one as it leaks like a sieve after removing it to clean the float needle as it was blocked.
    I'll also watch the second part next😁
    And how high is it suppose to rev?

    G'day. How do i tell the G4 from the LM carby? Both I have here, had the clear and black poppet valves in a bag of parts. Black poppet one has to go into the LM per Victa book notes. Only body difference I can see is where the decompression hose goes onto the back of carbys - one vac inlet is longer with a white tip, and the other shorter with no white tip. Thanks.

    Brendan RyanHey man, cheers for the vids. Really useful stuff. I managed to crack off the small plastic tube that connect the carb to the main area of the blades, which I presume is the vacuum and decompressor system on my victa vsx160. Unfortunately it's not a rubber tube like the one in this vid so I managed to just break it off by twisting it foolishly. Reckon it'll run ok without it or would it be best to try and glue it back in place? Cheers!

    What is that clicking sound in the background?Good video and shows how easy these are to fix. The G3 is similar.

    Just dismantled one of these G plastic contraptions for first time, luckily it is an old spare one for me to get the hang of, not the one on the actual mower...
    I use a Victa 2-stroke, 80s/90s Commando-look, and it is good starter, runs fine, throttles fine at first, but when nice and hot warmed up, it fades out on all except hard full forward throttle, as soon as you ease finger off throttle, motor begins shut-down, maybe as if potentially spark/kill switch is shorting..I have not checked for a fact is losing spark when this happens, but sure sounds like it...is it likely some malfunction with those two brass pins kill wires, somehow touching or arcing except at full max throttle held forward? that small rubber grommet around live pin that you pointed to t 5.39 ..you point out that it is an often-failed part..what is the effect of that, when it is dodgy?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 4 lety

      When the rubber grommet is worn the brass pins can contact when they are not supposed too which will stop the spark.

    If i ran a mower without a decompressor valve + vacuum line will
    it still be fine to use even if its a little harder for some to pull start?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes it will be fine to use without a decompressor and vaccum line

    Would the mower run if the tube that runs from the carburetor to the flywheel that creates the vacuum on the diaphragm is broken/cracked off from the carburetor? Cheers man

    • @cobbadog
      @cobbadog Před 6 lety

      I don't think that it would run or if it did it would not run properly. Best thing is to replace the broken part.
