    All good! Thanks. Got the service kit from the web site. Put it all together. First pull START, it has never done that, even after being "fixed" by a mower "expert". Bonus no leaks no flooding with the the addition of a metal needle and a positive open and close added to the float. E-bay available for a small cost, small trader, support them all if you can. Thanks again

    Great video mate. The old victor was starting then conking out. Cleaned sparkie, checked breather on fuel cap then went to carb your instructions spot on. Really helpful. Problem was where fuel line feeds carby. Blew it out with carby cleaner. Must have been blocked at the float jet. Thanks for the easy to follow video on how to pull it all off and clean it out. Hey, you forgot to orientate the white plunger valve, it has an A, B and C on it, depending on which letter faces the square cutout will change the idle rpm. A for lower idle and usually what should be facing it.

    Thanks for taking the time to do this video.....i came here because I couldn't work out the ignition wiring. When the throttle was set to stop there was still spark so obviously not working. Not sure if mine is different but looks the same as this one but the little rubber piece that you installed on the red wire had to be installed in the carby first before putting the red wire end into it. The rubber piece will just float about inside the rubber boot and you wont get connection (to short out the spark) to be able to turn the motor off. Took awhile to figure this out so hopefully this will help someone else having the same problem...

    Gyda mate, may l point out some technical errors in your vidio, the item you refer to is actually the needle and seat that is controlled by the float, ( the plastic boat shaped item), the jet that controls(correct term is meters) the quantity of fuel entering the air flow in the carby barrel is inside the brass screw that holds the white cover in place. • @Minxcatt

    Fantastic vid. I pulled mine apart but had phone calls in between the process and lost track.
    This was a good backup. One comment though. My kit had 2 x rubber pieces for what is the red cable here.
    At 9:17 you can best see the smaller diameter core where the back wire touches with a 'shoulder' on either side.
    I threaded the red cable through the boot, fitted the 'top hat' looking piece on the connector side of the shoulder
    then put the boot for the tip on. All that should be exposed is the smaller diameter section. The boot then goes over the tube locator then
    the black tip goes through the boot and tube holes (9:40) as the other connection point and holding it all together on the side of the carbi.

    This can be caused by 3 parts, The Needle you replaced, the float and the plastic faceplate. if you have replaced the needle and it still leaks its likely the faceplate needs replacing, the float is not often the problem. Our Video Titled"Fix Leaky Victa Carburetor" may help, Also The Carburetor Kit with faceplate can be purchased here at our website Hope This Helps.

    I'm trying to remove the carby from the main part of the engine, but when I twist the carby 25 degrees it won't slide off. Is there a trick to it or maybe something else that i need to loosen?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 8 lety

      +Murad Talukdar You may need to twist the carby further, Once it is twisted enough it should be free from the locking tabs and able to be pulled off, they can get a bit stuck if they are dirty or have not been removed in a long time

    My Victa VE40 is hard to start and when it runs, it runs very crappy (no real power to mow). If I keep pushing the primer pump, it runs like a dream. So as it seems to me, the petrol is not being drawn inside the carby (loss of vacuum?). What could cause that?

  • @mlhvdmeij
    @mlhvdmeij Před 9 lety

    Interesting though, I forgot to say, when the mower is cold, it starts straight away and runs like a dream, but when I shut it down and try to restart, it runs very crappy. Not sure if that helps, but this happened 2 times and may just be a coincidence.

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 9 lety +1

      Seems like you have run into a tricky problem, if your carburetor is clean then there is only a few things it could be, Leaking seals in the crankcase causing vaccum loss or a blocked fuel breather would be good to check first.

      yes, almost certainly the two kill-wires discussed @ 9:20 ...it is essential for those to engage and disengage correctly at the throttle plate inside rotates , for good shut-downs..the throttle plate pushes one against the other inside the smaller rubber thimble cover, to enable shorting the spark and immediate shut down.

  • @iantolond1548
    @iantolond1548 Před 9 lety

    I rebuilt the Carby but I have a few questions.
    How to the wires actually work? i am guess the throttle works as a cam and does something to the wires to create an earth= no spark?
    - i followed this to the T, but must have dine something wrong somewhere.
    the throttle seems t have no control on engine revs (flat out all the time, also the engine stop does not work.) everything appears to be in place and the throttle slides in and out as before?
    i also have a washer, where does the only washer go in the carby?
    the wire pin that is inserted through the rubber grommet does not appear to go all the way through, there are holes in the grommet, but not in the carby housing (2 holes are perpendicular but does not allow to push strait through)

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 9 lety

      Hi
      This Video is more detailed czcams.com/video/yO5QUgQbfek/video.html and may help you understand the Ignition Wires, It could Also help you see if you have assembled anything incorrectly. Fast running speed often suggests an Air Leak. The only washer in the carburetor assembly is the Waved Washer that goes on the manifold the carburetor mounts to.

    thanks so much for this video I managed to get my mower up and running again.
    I have a question though, I have a later model Victa and the carburetor is pretty much identical except the long spring is missing and the motor does not shut off when putting the throttle in the stop position, also the throttle doesn't really work the way it should, it has been serviced by a local shop before. Is that missing long spring causing the trouble?

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 9 lety +1

      Hi
      Without the long spring the mower should not be able to rev very fast when moved from the start to run position, If the mower does not turn off it is most likely related to the Ignition wires that are pushed into the carburetor. The rubber plug must be intact for it to function properly.

    • @myopicthunder
      @myopicthunder Před 9 lety

      PushMowerRepair.com Ah okay, the rubber piece is broken and 1/4 of the size it should be, that would be it.
      Regarding the long spring, the motor actually has trouble with overrevving, but as Ive watched your other videos that may have to do with leaky o rings letting air in to the piston thing.
      Also the cheap buggers who serviced it before also plugged the hose that goes out of the top of the carburetor cap and into the bottom of motor, what does that do?
      Thanks for the response and merry christmas!

    • @Pushmowerrepair
      @Pushmowerrepair  Před 9 lety

      Will Smith The hose from the top of the carburetor is part of the governor system, it slows the engine from the vaccum created by the flywheel where is connects to the engine.

    • @johnholowzak9719
      @johnholowzak9719 Před 5 lety +1

      this question was posted 6 years ago, perhaps no solutions given to the question so i will put my 2 bobs worth in, the video is a novice giving his version of the names to the various parts of the carby , eg, the brass screw that holds the front cover plate onto the carry is actually the main jet , if 2 stroke fuel is allowed to dry in the carby then a varnish that forms is more than likely will block the fine holes in the main jet, that filter is a very fine screen, light will be visible but the almost clear dried varnish will not allow the fuel to flow, the o ring that seals the front cover plate, 80% of the time it will expand ever so slightly and you a shot duck unless you got a new one to replace it, the jet that is referred to is called the needle, needle /seat that governs fuel levels in any carby ,, believe it or not continual immersion in petrol wlll cause it to shrink , replace it with a yellow one do not select any other colour , the arms on the float will more likely to have deformed and affect the fuel level but the longer yellow needle should overcome the problem , now fitting the cover plate back on , install the cover plate upside down in the carby body so the float will remain in poison using gravity, insert the main jet screw but do not tighten it fully, slowly and carefully rotate the cover plate so you do not damage the large o ring seal , until the hard to see level line indicator on the plate is in the correct location, try this and see , easier the trying to reface the cover plate and having the float fall of those pins, i thought those school kid american experts that like doing youtube videos were bad enough , mmmm perhaps this video needs an update
