    Wow, lately this has been a very popular upload, due to some missed points in this video, the low resolution and sound quality of this compared to what can be recorded 7 years later we will be remaking this upload. :)

      Getting such a Victa is hard, being local pick-up due to weight. A lot of interest in the alloy decks. See link sfmkm.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_38.html

    I enjoyed this.I have fixed a few of these and what I learned in this vid was totally new to me. I have a few more freebies to fix and get rid of and every time I do one youtube teaches me something new about them. I think it's a tragedy people just throw out any sort of small engine; they are these complex things that usually aren't broken beyond repair that can be reused for many years due to some minor repair. I've manged to inherit a lot, and I'm just fixing them up good enough to run and giving them to Lifeline to sell. Both these jobs looked easy so I'm going to include them in my overhauls. Bravo, man. Good work.

    I reccomend this to everyone I sell a 2 stroke to, some listen some dont, when they are here though they get used every day so the small bit of fuel in the carb doesnt get a chance to go stale.

    This is a great instruction vid junk yard dog . Salvaged one of these off road side curb throw out. Great condition with grass catcher. I'm in favor of the two stroke smoke ( I love fixing this stuff, it's pretty solid shit unlike that ASKO Chinese shit that lasts a few months then its rooted . We turfed our sunbeam toaster coz we had it for 15 years, never missed a beat, so sad when the missus recommended a new one, it was pretty cosmetically rat poison though. We bought an ASKO toaster and one side is good but the other side is burnt, Never buy that crap ever again.) Anyways, as for the LW , I'll sell it for a few notes or give it away) Just went to start it and smoked out the back yard including the washing on the hills. Same problem.. High revs, did a few general look overs, came inside and found your vid straight up... Cheers mate .

    Good Informative vid!, These Mowers are a good Unit, there's always parts available, The Clutch Cable snapped on my John Deere, so I bypassed it, (Engine Vibration causes the end to snap off after a while)

    There is tiny brass washers available as a spare part that goes under the throttle cam, usually one or two will bring the idle down, if it doesnt there is a air leak in the system somewhere :)

    Once again awesome video Joe. Will be a good addition to outdoorking's video library!
    And also I've never really noticed before but victa's are almost tool-less to service... Well compared to something like a Briggs or a Lawn boy.... and with Tecumseh you have to use both imperial and standard tools on....

    10 foot pounds is the required torque for the starter housing bolts. Great video.

  • @waterbourne9282
    @waterbourne9282 Před 7 lety +1

    My power torque started to over rev. Turned out to be the governor. Either the little hole was blocked, or all the dust and stuff inside the flywheel housing was upsetting the airflow over the vane and upsetting the governing- I think the latter because I could blow through the vane from the outside prior to disassembly. I suspect it was related to sustained use of the mulching plug forcing the dust etc up into the flywheel housing. Removed engine from chassis and cleaned out governor and housing, reassembled, and back to normal. We'll see what happens as I continue to use the mulching plug, it may just have had lots of dust in there prior and reached a tipping point.

    I need some help please.
    My victa tiltacut with a power torque engine seems to run fine until it’s just about out of petrol then she revs up like it’s trying to blast off to the moon and I have to pull the spark plug to stop it. Anyone know what’s happening here.

    I have two Victa Pro Cut mowers with 5 hp Honda engines on them, they over rev too. Wondering if o rings are the problem with them. Thanks for the vid, first one I’ve come across related to my problem.

    • @junkyarddog87
      @junkyarddog87  Před 5 lety +1

      With the honda being 4 stroke I would be looking closer at the governor linkages, springs and adjustment, the 2 strokes suffer an amplified problem from the O rings as they not only allow more air in, they also lean out the fuel air mixture which causes even higher rpm. if I get another honda soon, I will explain it :)

    Really helpful video! With my Victa 2 stroke it revs really high, but if I disconnect the pipe to the air filter it revs a lot lower, any reason why?

    • @zacjohnson8404
      @zacjohnson8404 Před 5 lety +2

      air filter might be blocked? I think this motor adjusts itself according to load, so I'm guessing it might be responding to a blocked air filter as though it is under load when it isn't.
      don't quote me on that though lol

    That is two stroke mower and they should run on full throttle that is a mix fuel with two stroke oil . . Not good to put straight fuel in a two stroke motor. same as a wipper snipper they are two stroke fuel.

    Great video. I have replaced the necessary parts on my Victa 2 stroke G4 Carburettor as per videos available. My mower will not start with the normal priming and the accelerator at the start position. To start I place the accelerator at the full on position. To maintain the revs I move the accelerator up and down continually. Can anybody HELP with this problem, thanks.
