In this video I show you how adjust the Revs or RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) on a VICTA 2 Stroke lawnmower with a G4 Carburetor. Specifically, I on a Standard model VICTA 2 Stroke lawnmower, however this procedure applies to all late model Victa 2 stroke lawn mowers.
The tools used to undertake this repair are:
* Phillips Head Screwdriver (or 8mm Socket for later Mowers)

This really is an easy procedure that anybody can do. Save the cash and DIY!
great vidio thanks for taken the time to make it very helpfull cheers steve
Glad it helped! Cheers Drew
Great information! Since watching your channel I’ve got my Victa running great. Thanks.
Hi Mirella, Great to hear! Cheers Drew
I’ve been really enjoying your content, thangs !
Thanks mate, I have a few more to edit up … if you enjoyed this one I reckon there is at least one to come out in the next few weeks that you will like! Cheers Drew
@@DrewFixIt sweet sounds good! I got my hands on a lovely condition Victa Corvette 300 2 stroke a while ago, never worked on a 2 stroke mower before so looking forward to it!
That is much easier than I thought it'd be. I've gotta get a fix going on mine, it's a Victa lms462a and it gets used pretty regulalry to do some jobs, however I'm not great with engines, latest job I went to do it was fine for all of 60 seconds then sounded like ti wanted to throw the piston through the body at me :( it's the first major problem I've encountered, so I'm looking at servicing/rebuilding parts of it if necessary even with a new mower it's so damn solid.
Another great video Drew....Learn something each time you post.....
Thanks Gary! I’m glad that you find these useful, it inspires me to make more! Cheers Drew
Useful to know. Im having problems getting my 550 Pro starting and running smoothly so can you suggest some good starting settings?
Go the C setting! Cheers Drew
Hey Drew, can you do a video on how to do this with a G3 carby?
Hi my Victa 2 stroke backfires when shutting down , how can I stop this
According to an old post in Austech forums letter C on a white poppet valve pointing to the spray hole is for all engines except for the Victa Vortex which has A lining up.
Using any other position reduces governed speed but richens the mixture, resulting in more fuel consumption.
It also said black poppet valves (no letters) cannot be replaced by a white one.
It sounds like there is a cause that needs addressing, be it the manifold o ring or other.
Hi James, you are probably correct and you only get relatively minor change in RPM this way, to really change the RPM check out this video which I did more recently:

@@DrewFixIt I like what you jigged up to test tension of various governor springs.
I have a rev country but it requires your to wind a wire around the lead about 4 times. Can be tricky if the lead is short. I wish it had the clip instead.
@@jamesfrench7299 Hi James, they are not overly expensive, do yourself a favour and buy one, here is a link: amzn.to/3PVelhu Cheers Drew
Whilst this does adjust the engines governed speed, this isn't how you change it. This change adjusts the air fuel mixture and indirectly changes the engine speed. To adjust the speed you need to change the springs on the diaphragm with different ones.
Hi Mate, you are correct in that you can also swap the governor springs around and I have actually just finished filming another video where I demonstrate this too. Once I get to editing it I will put it up as well. For me the difference is the amount of impact of the two adjustments. Cheers Drew
Some of the older G4 carbs had a grey knob/idle screw on the end of the cap which reduced the amount of force that the spring put on the diaphragm.
