He hit when I was in high school, people were angry he was white, accused him of trying to be "black", was completely ridiculous. Rick was/is an awesome singer.
"Cry For Help" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard...
Many Americans thought Rick was black when hearing ‘never gonna give you up’…he is also a fantastic drummer…thanks for reaction. He tended to avoid tv interviews in his heyday, seems a modest gentleman

What? Never heard that. I remember that time very well. He had a video out right away for Never Gonna Give You Up. So his physical presence was known from the beginning. But if you say so.
I remember that alot of people thinking he was this big black dude and being shocked when they found out he wasn't still a good song though

LOL That was his 90's Hair PanMarsh! thank you for reacting to Cry for Help NO ONE reacts to it (believe me I have asked) and they don't know what they're missing! Rick has aged like a fine wine and has never stopped putting out music. BTW he has been asked and has participated to judge in Gospel Competitions. He is well known and regarded in that community.
I saw Rick Astley live six (!) times as a result of him being the opening act for Take That in 2019 and he has a seriously good live voice. He seems like a lovely guy too! Together Forever is a bop.
Together Forever is such a bop. I always thought he was an odd choice to become a meme (one of the first!) Like, Never Gonna Give You Up high key slaps, Rick is clearly talented, soo.... I mean, if the goal was to troll people, wouldn't you achieve maximum trollage with a worse song by a lesser talent??? Idgi but I'm thankful for the Rickroll phenomenon because it introduced his talent to so many people who never would have known about him otherwise
His memes definitely led me to his discography, so I have to agree!
Rick is a huge favorite of mine since the 80s! That voice! That hair! That dancing! His dancing brings me joy. Thank you for spotlighting his beautiful talent. He is awesome in his live appearances as well!

Stock, Aitken and Waterman produced Never Gonna Give You Up, Together Forever and Whenever You Need Somebody.
They also produced Better The Devil You Know, What Do I Have To Do, I Should Be So Lucky, Shocked by Kylie and Love In The First Degree and I Heard A Rumour by Bananarama.
They were a huge pop factory in the 80s. A bit like today's Max Martin.
You are my soulmate 😉 'Stock Aitken Waterman' were such a machine in the 80s. So many artists and tunes - I think we could have some of that back now. I feel we have come back around again.

Stock aitken and Waterman produced and written for many artists back in the 80's with that upbeat happy sound. I love them. You should check out Donna Summer's collaboration with them "Another Place and Time". I wore that out and still listen to it today. Kylie Minogue, bananarama, Dead or Alive, Jason Donavon and loads of others.

CZcams Rick Astley -- Never Gonna Give You Up (Glastonbury 20230) BBC Music. Rick's incredible set from this years festival in front of thousands of fans. He slayed them.
If you think Rick's hair looked great in this video for "Cry for Help", you should watch his "Never Knew Love" video (I'm not sure if he does his own stunts in that video).
Not sure you'll see this, given this is over a year old. "Whenever You Need Somebody" was originally written for and released by O'chi Brown in 1985. I actually prefer her version better, especially the 12" version.
It Would Take a Strong, Strong Man was always my favorite too! I had the cassingle!

the production u heard, was in so many songs in the late 80s in the UK. u may have heard the sound in a few Kylie songs for example. i was a kid then. also i remember rick astley being huge, then decided to retire , i think while a song he had was number 1. sick of the business. i may be wrong tho, it was eons ago 😁

I would have been amazing to be in the same studio and to hear the ladies sing with so much power ,Rick also great.
Since you also love "It Would Take A Strong Man", you simply must hear the 12" single version labelled "Matt's Jazzy Guitar Mix". It is SO MUCH BETTER than the regular release. As a matter of fact, I never listen to the comparatively weak single version . Of course, I just made an exception for you because we're family. And yes, I've never quite gotten over my crush on Rick. It's kinda sad considering I was probably too old for him even then. Oh well.....

You should check out his song Hopelessly. I wanna say it came out in 91/92...I remember hearing it all the time on the radio when I was in Junior high school and it's my favorite song of his. I dont think too many people remember that song of his or they have never heard it but it's really good!

Random but I just finished watching your reactions to some George Michael videos and I thought I would recommend a great song and vid of his for you to react to lol The song is called "Amazing" and well..it is amazing lol For some reason people always overlook this one but it's actually one of my favorites, such a feel good tune.
