What should be my next Fujifilm camera in 2024? With IBIS?

- Are you looking to buy a Fujifilm camera? How to decide which Fuji camera is best for you? In this video I show you how I choose my next Fujifilm camera. I tell you about what Fuji cameras I have used recently (X10, X-A1, X-E2, X-T20, X-T30, XP120) and what is great about them. I’ve decided that I want my next Fuji camera to have In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS). In the video I compare the features of the Fujifilm X-series cameras that have IBIS and are interchangeable lens cameras (X-S10, X-S20, X-H1, X-H2, X-H2S, X-T4, X-T5). I will narrow down my options and eventually pick one Fuji camera that is the best for me.

Just wait for the XT-50, it will be like the XT-30 in size but with IBIS, 40mpx and better video specs. And it'll share the same battery, so you don't need to buy other battery model
Hi Don! That's a good point. I have a stack of X-T30 batteries and it'd be nice to continue using those. The X-T50 sounds too good to be true. Kind regards!
Besides the price the thing about the xt50 that bugs me is the film sim dial. Total gimmick.
@@peterleary8738 Hi Peter! Thanks for bringing this up. Kind regards!
I love how in-depth you went w/ the comparisons! Very helpful.
Hi! Thank you so much. I'm glad I could help you. Kind regards!
XT5...its awesome beast. That said the S-10 was my first Fuji camera and I really like it. The only thing was it was not weather sealed so that is definitely an issue that you didn't mention wheather sealing is really important.
Hi! It absolutely is. I hope to get one of them in the future. Kind regards!
I've been using entry level Canon DSLRs and mirrorless, but have fallen in love with the classic vintage big dial silver and black look of some Fuji models. I wish more of them had that screw hole for the shutter and a rangefinder OVF, and if it can do higher MP images, competitive quality video with audio ports, had IBIS, snappy AF, ample lens options, and was pocketable, that'd be my dream camera, except I probably couldn't afford it 😅 the X100VI is the closest but I wish it had dials on both sides of the camera, and idk but I might have wanted it to have an interchangeable lens mount.
Seeing as I'm broke, I might settle for a used X20 😄 it still has good image quality and fulfills all my "accessory" aesthetic requirements. I want to take pictures of people holding it or using it too, they are just that pretty.
Hi JJtoob! I hear you, these cameras are very pretty, indeed. Just like you mention, I also consider interchangeable lens cameras rather than fixed lens (I already own a whole array of X-mount lenses). Thanks for watching. Kind regards!
Hi,I own the Xt5. Great in the hand, Ibis is very helpful. The screen is a delight, shooting from the hip or kneeling near a puddle😊 to make a vertical. The updates in software for the autofocus was for my street photography a step forward. In combination with the newer lineup in lenses, I do not regret that I left the full frame circuit for the Xt5. It makes want to shoot, and that is my main reason. I am not lost in menus, handling is a breeze. And it gives fun and creativity to shoot. It has proven to be a reliable instrument in all kinds of situations the last months. And in all kind of weather. Xt5 is a beast.
Hi Peter! Thank you very much for your message. I appreciate your mention of how the X-T5 inspires you to shoot. That might just be the most important feature of a great camera. The X-T5 is indeed a beast cleverly disguised in sheep's clothing. Kind regards!
I own the XT5 and I own the GFX 50 SII and I love both cameras. I am eagerly awaiting the 100 SII to be released. That will probably be my third and last fuji camera.
Hi! The cameras you own are awesome, indeed. Best of luck to you!
@@tom_photo I do shoot professionally part-time so I make a decent amount of income from photography where I can afford these cameras plus I believe in buying the better end cameras because they hold their value better overtime so if you do go to sell them the better of it and cameras to hold a bit like used cars
@@nevvanclarke9225 Hi! Absolutely, I agree. The higher-end cameras hold their value better, and the rare but capable ones retain their value. For example, my Fuji X10 has become more expensive during the time I've owned it. Kind regards!
Have XT30 and like it a lot. The XS10/20 seems to me the sweet spot. Small. Lightweight. IBIS. I don’t need/want the 40MP sensor.
Hi! Yes, I feel the same. The X-S series in indeed a very nice one. Kind regards!
Fuji XT5! Has image stabilization and better auto focus! So much better than the XT4 even! 🖖
Hi Simon! Thank you, I get this a lot. People primarily recommend the X-T5. I can only agree. Kind regards!
I also own the excellent XT30, however recently I needed to tether and to my surprise, the modern XT30 failed me since it has no such capability. I had to fall back on my old trusted X-T1. So from my perspective I would recommend you add the first generation X-Trans, either X-Pro1 or X-M1 and the 2nd generation in the form of X-T1, which is similar to X-E2.
Hi! Thank you for offering your opinion. I've also thought about these cameras, especially the X-Pro1. I've owned the X-T10 before and was one of my all time favorites in terms of color rendering. Kind regards!
I believe the x-t4 to be more video-centric than the x-t5. So I’d go for the x-t4.
Hi Bert! Yes, this is true. I know of some people who use it only as a video cameras. I love the X-T series a lot. Only the X-T3 is a bit too much like the X-T30 (which I already own). Kind regards!
Battery life on the XS-10 is not good, but I'm guessing you've got plenty of them already.
I don't see that you have a need for any additional cameras?
If it was my choice to make I'd sell the X-T20 and 30s and get two XS-20s
Hi! Thank for your recommendations. That's a pretty good idea. The problem is that I like my X-T20 and X-T30 too much :). Kind regards!
I know how that feels, I have an X-T10 I'll never part with.
@@grahamniven Hi! Yes, the X-T10 has something special to it. I've taken some of my best photos with my X-T10. Unfortunately I no longer own it. Cheers!
The biggest issue will be finding a fuji that’s in stock.
Hi Peter. Yes, they are popular cameras and are typically made in smaller numbers than they should be. To a consumer, this means a high price. Thanks for watching!
I am also looking at to buy a used Fujifilm XS10 body too, but the price of Fujifilm New and Used mirrorless camera in Singapore has increase tremendously, I just can't afford to buy it.
Personally, I'm holding out for the X-T50, primarily for IBIS and cropping in a compact , versatile body. If the control layout and handling don't agree, then perhaps an X-T5 or wait even longer for the next generation X-T's.
Currently own an X-T3, X-T20, X-E2S, X-10, & X-Q2.
Previously, X-E1, X-E2(2) X-E3, X-T1(3),X-T2, X-A5, X-Q1
@happychocolate5247 Hi! Yes, the camera prices have gone up. The newer models that come out tend to be more expensive than the previous models when they were new. Best of luck to you!
@@kenlyon8285 Hi! You own some great cameras. Indeed, it's wuite exciting what the future of Fuji camera may bring. Kind regards!
Xt5 is the best choice for me.❤
Hi! Thanks very much for your feedback. It's a wonderful camera, indeed. Kind regards!
is their a successor coming?
@@-BKR- Hi BKR! Thanks for asking. Do you mean if there is a new video coming where I tell which camera I ended up getting. Sure, when I get a new camera I'll make a video. Kind regards!
My imaginary camera would be X-T20 with Beyer sensor from X-A7. My real Fuji camera is X-T200, it"s fotos are much sharper as of the real X-T20 with X-Trans.
Hi! That's interesting. Thanks for letting me know. If we cold mix and match parts from different cameras that would be pretty amazing. The X-T200 is great. Kind regards!
Hi Tom, have you bought a new fuji camera yet?
Hi Alberto! Thanks for asking. Not yet. I'm eyeing either the X-S10 or X-S20 but so far no success. Once I get it and have tested it thoroughly, I'll be sure to make a video. Cheers!
I own, and love, the X-T5 - if you like the traditional Fuji shooting experience I can’t rate it highly enough. A couple of points you should also consider:
1. IBIS is helpful but it makes much less of a difference to stills and video than you might expect. Fuji IBIS is okay, but no replacement for a tripod or a gimble
2. Autofocus improvements with the newest cameras are a bigger point of difference. Personally I would not buy an X-S10 these days (as lovely as it is) given the better autofocus in the X-S20
Given your criteria maybe you should wait a couple of weeks for the launch of the X-T50
Hi Sam! Thank you very much for your thoughtful and relevant answer. I've been wondering how much difference IBIS makes. The X-T5 is very high on my list. You are certainly right that the X-T50 is going to be very exciting. Kind regards!
@@tom_photo thanks Tom. This video was my first introduction to your channel. A happy discovery and I look forward to seeing more of your journey with Fuji cameras in the future. Warm regards
@@SamTaylors Hi Sam! Thank you so much. It's great to have you as a viewer!
If you buy that new camera will it replace your X-T20, or will it be difficult to let it go?
Hi Alberto! That's a great question :). Indeed it would replace my X-T20 and should then sell the X-T20. I just don't know if I'm actually doing it. The X-20 is quite special. Cheers!
You need the xt5 with the 40mp
Hi! Thank for your feedback. Yes, I think if all Fuji cameras cost the same then I'd get the X-T5. It's such a a wolf in sheep's clothing. Kind regards!
@@tom_photo that sensor is very underrated, much better than the XTrans 4
@@rdtstudios Hi! Indeed. Thanks so much for watching!
What lens is that on your X-E2? Seems quite small.
Hi Shirayone! The lens that I show attached to the X-E2 at the beginning of the video is Fuji XF 35 mm F/1.4 R (czcams.com/video/TsyVkPuo5mM/video.html). These days I'm mostly using this camera with the smallest Fuji lens, the pancake lens of Fuji XF 27 mm F/2.8 (czcams.com/video/0HBjon21kn8/video.html). Kind regards!
@@tom_photo thank you for the reply! It's a really good looking lens, usually when I see it in youtube videos people use it with the iconic square hood so I couldn't recognize it without one funnily enough.
Just like you in the video, I've been wanting a Fuji camera with IBIS but sadly they haven't made one with a rangefinder style body yet (I'm not counting the X100VI), which I kind of want now since I already have an SLR styled Fuji with the X-T100.
Hopefully Fuji might announce either the X-E5 or X-Pro4 with IBIS next year.
It would be a dream to have X-E5 with IBIS and a stacked sensor for better Electronic Shutter performance (I use it a lot, and predictably enough plenty of my shots got banding or rolling shutter issues); that would make it the perfect stealth setup.
@@shira_yone Hi Shirayone! Indeed an X-E series with IBIS would be very nice, I agree. Best of luck to you!
100r
Hi! Thank you for bringing up this camera. What a nice one it is, and great style, too. Still, I think I'd like an interchangeable lens lens X-mount camera as I already own an array of X-mount lenses (czcams.com/video/ndCrbW5VZ4Y/video.html). Kind regards!
@@tom_photo Indeed - the X system for Fuij has been a great success - I personally think there are too many lens choices- as a Pro I recently invested in a S/H 50r for a snappy cmera which might sound excessive but I am already heavily invested in the GFX system - so rather than buy a new system I could use lenses I already had - and I love it - however it got me thinking why would Fuji not pursue this system for many who loves the 50r but have probably left it behind in their thinking and went for something else - even an X-System - I would buy a 100r with out question - although I did miss a bit of a trick the Fuji GFX100I takes the same batteries as the XT-5 - and not a lot of people know that!!! Just to add to the conversation I am a Hass user as well and use 2 X2D's and also a 907xCFV100c with 3 of the new 2.5 lenses - 38, 55, 90 - so running two systems is much more expensive and all cameras have their different uses - but I wonder why didn't Fuji pursue the original incarnation of the 'box' camera as per their original design? I would have bought that too!!! As a former ambassador for Fuji I should have asked when I had the chance!!!
This is a cynical comment but thank you for not making your videos into some over the top art project with lo-fi hip hop or cyberpunk music and desaturated/pastel colour grading. The most annoying current tech youtuber trend. Thank you for listening to my rant 😂
Hi TTIOT! Thank you very much, I appreciate it.
You forgot to get the best one, a X-H1.
Hi! I considered the X-H1 as well. It is certainly a nice camera. Still I personally prefer the X-S series. Kind regards!
x-s20 will be better choice :)- battery/IBIS/price
Hi Jackers! Thanks for your opinion. I agree that the X-S20 would be a better overall choice. When the prices start to come down I'll be sure to consider it more. Kind regards!
