I just recently came across the story of Dan Fogleberg, whose father was the band leader at Bradley U. in Peoria. That very night I heard a musician play at a coffeehouse who told me she was from Peoria. And now, Hope. Good grief, I'm getting Peoria bombed! 🙂

I liked her. Good in The Rifleman, too

I did enjoy her role in Rosemary's Baby, especially when she just looks up nonchalantly at Rosemary holding a knife and just tells her she "shouldn't be out of bed!" Haha!

In her most famous episode, "The Pickle Story", she was called "Clara Johnson", instead of "Clara Edwards".
Of course, this wasn't the only time a character had a name change.
Goober's first appearance had his last name listed as "Beasley" instead of "Pyle".

Also played characters named Bertha Edwards and Miss Bedloe on The Andy Griffith Show.
I guess Bertha Edwards and Clara Johnson morphed into Clara Edwards.

I wonder what it was like for her children to pop open a bottle of Mrs. Butterworth in their kitchen. That'd be like performing brain surgery on Mom!

Seen all episodes several times. Never paid attention to her. The Andy Griffith show was one of the best TV shows ever. I am curious as to what kind of eggs you lay during Easter. Perhaps are they shaped like little flying saucers?

Your flying saucer comment made me let out a whoop and I scared the dog! My nickname growing up was carrot, but "Space Age Carrot" didn't have the same ring to it as rabbit. The Andy Griffith Show is one of my favorite shows, and I love the pickle story episode, so that made me want to do a video on Clara/Hope : ) Thanks so much for watching and for the chuckle!

You are most welcome. I am 75 and I live in a nursing home. My wife died 16 years ago so I spend a lot of time on CZcams. Northwestern Univ. is an excellent school. I am originally from South Bend In. I knew the Rudy that the film was made about he wanting to attend the Univ.of Notre Dame.Go watch it if you have not yet seen it.

@@tedlawrence4189 South Bend is a beautiful city! I've been through there many times. I've heard of the movie Rudy, but I've never seen it. I'll make sure to check it out : )

On M*A*S*H, as nurse Meg Cratty, she saved Henry Blake from bogus charges of helping the enemy, storming the hearing and telling the military brass that Henry helped only poor civilians, and that he was a better person than "any of you high priced bell hops!"
The in-your-face heroine role was very different from the reserved and sometimes petty Clara Edwards.

      "High priced bellhops!"
      Love it.
