I never saw Fair Exchange or Bail and...Ric Littleys of Balboa...but I sure remember Love On A Rooftop, with Judy, Peter Duell and Rich Little. When I read that she would be a regular on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In I saw it from the beginning.:-)
Thank you for this. I sometimes do searches on youtube for Judy Carne, I was 7-8 when she first appeared on Laugh In, I thought she was the funniest, prettiest thing I ever saw. Knew she fell onto some hard times, but had no idea. RIP Judy. ❤❤❤
Thank you for watching! I always thought Judy was so pretty. She's adorable on Laugh-In!
What a beauty!
A lot of people might not remember that her first husband was Burt Reynolds.
Used to really like her on Laugh In. Later on LoveOn A Rooftop. I remember watching both but never knew why she left Laugh In. She was a real looker too. 🙏❤😢
Love on a Rooftop came before Laugh-in. I remember her on both of those shows.
RIP Lynn Loring, Miss Carne's 'Fair Exchange' castmate.
At least Judy lived well into her 70's, that's one sweet gift she was given. Not all can say that much. Those misfortunes she had regarding drug busts where a common rights of passage many had; it was like a drug supermarket out there in those days, maybe still is for some caught up in the lifestyle. As a young teen, I found it very easy to get Seconal, Tuinal and Quaaludes. They sold cheaply, too. Adults would go to the doctors office just to rip blank scripts from the pad when the doctor was out of the room. This world has always had a wild side. It's good that Judy had a form of tranquility going for her later in life.
In high school there were very beautiful people that were typically football stars and cheerleader captains. I was the class clown and wasn’t all that popular. Funny how all the people I thought would be highly successful and live forever, are the ones that crashed and burn. Here I am, kind of a slacker’, and still going strong. 🤷♂️
And that is the reality of life in an imperfect world/ universe.
I did enjoy love on the rooftop. How is 12 years old. I watched it with my older sister. Sad Peter duel committing suicide. A few years later
Probably my first "crush" as teen. 😊❤
I partied with Judy Carne, and the “Help I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up” tv ad actress, at one of Michael Musto’s parties at the Limelight in the late 80’s. We were wasted. When Judy Carne saw some of the gays and their outfits, she’d just start screaming “And they locked me up!” She did it all night long. The “Help I’ve Fallen..” lady hugged everyone who came by our sofa. She ended up in the hospital the next day because the gays broke her ribs hugging her all night. It was one of my favorite nights out ever.
She had a show at the Buccaneer Inn and night club in Cincinnati in the late seventies ...I was the Hotel desk clerk ,and they asked me to clean her suite ....my pleasure .....lime shag ...spiral staircase ....full bar ....but she got arrested for passing fake scripts for pills .....😮😮😮😮 .....I wanted to meet her
After seeing Judy in a Chunky commercial, I would have gladly given her a Chunky bar right on stage. May have gotten a big hug and kiss in return.❤❤
The juvenile part in "Bailys of Balboa" was played by Clint Howard, *Ron Howard's brother!*
Had a crush on her like every other guy.😊
she did so much with what little she had
Seemed to be a good soft hearted person ruined by drugs. I always wondered how she supported herself when she moved back to England for her last 30 years. She was always broke here (drugs).
There is one guest star appearance I remember as she reunited with Pete Duel as conniving money grabbing gal in Alias Smith And Jones episode called The Root Of It All I kind of got her mixed up with Stephanie Powers but that was her. Sorry to hear about her death. Very pretty girl.
I didn't know about that one! I'll have to look for that episode. Thanks for sharing 🙂
5:10 Actually, "Laugh-In" began in 1967. Judy Carne was in the pilot edition.
Yes, you're right! She did appear in the pilot, which I think aired in the fall of 1967.
Just watched Judy in an episode of Bonanza
You are good at this! Thank you>
Thank you for your kind words! And thank you so much for watching 🙂
@@spaceagerabbit I just want to say that I totally agree that you are very good at this, too. Not all are. Thank you for what you do, and how you do it.
I was a fan of LOVE ON A ROOFTOP -- very cute and sweet show that was certainly as good, and better, than many sitcoms which were given longer runs. Unfortunate scheduling, which can kill a show faster than anything.
She was like a female Davy Jones to me at the time.
Tough career -- she kept getting featured in starring roles on shows that didn't last long enough to be syndicated after cancellation. Same deal with Pete Duel -- he was the brother-in-law on Gidget for its one season, before Love On A Rooftop (then killed himself during Alias Smith And Jones). The only thing I've seen Judy in besides Laugh-In was as a soldier's girlfriend in 12 O'Clock High -- I perked right up when she appeared. I think she could have done better by staying in England and working there.
I liked the Baileys of Balboa. Thursday nights right before a kid had to go to bed. Peyton Place was for the adults. Too bad.
And dated Joe Per4y f4om Aerosmith
