I love how that the more I'm listening to yiddish the more I understand it.

my dear friend hebrew is the languange of our holy scriptures. each pesakh you say loud and clear "בשנה הבאה בירושלים הבנויה"(next year in jerusalem) and in your wedding you'll say in hebrew and even if you can't understand its meanings "אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני"(if i'll forget you jerusalem, i'll forget my right arm!). hebrew was the languange written by our rabbies for more than 2000 years in the diaspora. hebrew kept the jews united in the land of israel 2000 years ago and now. with all

Hebrew is not my language and just because some people want to declare it my language doesn't make it so. I'm a Jew, not a Hebrew and like most American Jews my native language is English, not Hebrew or Yiddish. But I grew up with Yiddish culture and the language my family spoke for 1,000 years was Yiddish, the language more Jews have spoken in history than any other. You can't just erase 2,000 years of history to fit your socio-political paradigms.

yiddish studying is nice but it should be studied only after knowing hebrew well enough. hebrew is the languange of the revival of the hebrew nation. hebrew is the languange of every jew no matter if he's ashkenazi, sfaradi, ethipian, teimani and etc. hebrew is the languange of the jewish state god damn!
