When you are in the middle of a Carpet bagger video, and get a notification of a new Carpet bagger video, you know it's gonna be a good day!
This is an interesting musium
As an oddity collector, these videos never fail to make me supremely envious.
YUP, or proud whenever I own a similar/equivalent item haha
Agreed!!!
@@thestudio66 I will check your channel out.... Weird is up my alley 🤪
I work nextdoor to the Museum of Weird. I love those people
Please Jacob, never change your channel, your videos are always different and interesting. I once liked also adam channel a lot too, but now it only makes disney videos, or disney resort videos. stay like this and don't change 👏🏼
Do you plan on returning to Meow Wolf's, "House Of Eternal Return"? They added updates to it.
Jacob your the only man that tells His wife "I'm going to go get some strange" and she has no worries and looks forward to what you bring home.
I'm someone who's done that with my ex, and I can tell you - it is possible, there just aren't many people out there that have a genuine interest in this stuff without being super weird about it. We would preserve wet-specimens together and all. A dream, I tell you.
@Annihilator X we were, and we're friends, but he's unique, and I don't think he'd ever reconsider me that way - even though it's been 2 years since we've dated. I feel like he's always searching for the next step, and I mean going backwards - which I respect.
Jacob King Tut was buried in a rush because he died so Suddently, Rumour has it the Death mask was meant for his Mother/Step Mother Nefertiti. His tomb was in the Valley of the Kings but well hidden as the General who took over from him didn't approve of Tut or his Fathers Regime. His tomb prepared and sealed in such a hurry the Paint was still wet and the Tomb is covered in Mould!
His mummification was rushed too hence why he looks like burnt Beef jerky, But in a way wiping him off the face of the earth preserved his tomb forever and made him the most famous. Another tip for spotting Royal mummies a lot of them have an Overbite.
He died aged 18/19 but he was plagued with many health Issues like Spinal problems, Club foot etc.
Loving the Channel Jacob you've kept us all sane during lockdown and I'm sure if you had a Queen as Ruler she'd Knight you haha!
Regards
Your Pal Dr.What
Yesss the man with the carpetbag is back at a museum!
The Jeremy Bentham head is a facsimile. Jeremy Bentham was an nineteenth century British philosopher who is credited with creating utilitarian ethics. His entire mummified body is kept in a glass case and wheeled out at the annual meeting of the philosophy society he founded.
Hey Jacob! Hope you're well. I absolutely love coming back to watch old videos like this one, they're my comfort videos 😍 Your content makes so many people happy ☺️
Get one of those parking spaces in front of the museum. There is a homeless shelter next to the parking lot with the Janis Joplin and Willie Nelson painting on the building. There was a bunch of drama going on while we walked to the museum.
Both also Texans, I’m sure you know
You always find the coolest, weirdest places
The music in the wax museum sounded like the theme music from Dracula (Winona rider one).
Of all the years I lived in that city, I still never managed to go in that museum. Guess that's how you know who is local. 🤣 Would have liked to have gone though.
I could look at this place for hours! Some really cool items!
I like the artistic take on the feejee mermaid at 20:50, showing what they would have looked like if "alive." Cool sculpture!
You can visit the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato in Mexico. There is also a the famous Luchador movie “Santo and the Mummies of Guanajuato” 🇲🇽
If you head back through Beaumont, check out our Gator Sanctuary at Gator County! There's one that's over 80 years old and they'll take a picture for you with your phone practically inside a gator's mouth. Sweet people and a great place.
Tod Browning's Freaks is a great movie!
Kinda like a ripleys! Nice! 👍
Awesome museum.Enjoyed the tour. Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
I used to live in Austin back in 07/08 in my early 20's, man I loved that place! Austin is like no other city that's for sure! Keep Austin weird!!!!👽👾💛
This place is amazing! Love the Bram Stoker's Dracula music in the background. Definitely added to my bucket list. Thanks for this video.
Omg! You’re in my city! Welcome to Austin! I hope you are enjoying your stay in the city
Yes there can be a two-headed chicken because I have broken eggs and I found two yolks in there at the same time.
That’s a reasonable theory. I think there can be 2 headed anything because stuff happens sometimes & gets mixed up. (Note: I do believe this can occur, IDK if that one is real or they created it.) Sometimes it was supposed to be twins & didn’t quite get there-whatever. But idk if that supports double yolk eggs...I suppose it could but they became breakfast so we’ll never know! Idk! I just like your theory! Have a blessed day!
The “ sea devil” is a dried up sting ray lol
I SO appreciate that you filmed the museum… I was just there yesterday and didn’t take any photos. I was so thrilled by every display, especially the Cottingley Fairies photo, which I’d seen in a book when I was a kid… couldn’t believe I was in the presence of the real thing!
Nice! There's so much to see in there. 👍
"Creature in Ice" is the Minnesota Iceman, which was sold as a gaff on ebay in 2013 to the Museum of the Weird. You can Google photos of it if you wish. It is an historic real gaff..
A place of the strange, unusual and the wierd love it x
Chang and Ang Bunker did have it to where If one of them dies then they where to be separated to save the other. Sadly the surgeon didn’t make it there in time and both Chang and Ang died within minutes of each other.
Gremlins is one of my favorites too! Such a cinematic masterpiece!
The perfect stomping ground for the carpetbagger!
Yes sir that's the retro puppet master replica that you seen next to the cyclops skull 🤗
Got to visit the Museum of the Weird a few years ago. I still wear my "creature in ice" t shirt😆
Oddities was my favorite shooooow. I’m still sad about it being cancelled. Ten years later
Oh me too!
SAME
@RetroTrash Productions that makes me sad too
@RetroTrash Productions the actual store is closed? How could that be
@RetroTrash Productions wow. . . .pics?
@The Carpetbagger

You are correct, that IS one of the Puppet Master puppets
Thank you for uploading! I was in Austin this past weekend and it was closed I was so sad! I am so glad this video exists!
I love Shrunken Heads💓💓💓💓
Love that museum!!! Never been, but it's definitely on my list
I love this place!!! I went here a year ago! By far my favorite part of Austin!!! Love your channel! Shows me places to try out and it’s fun/informative to watch!
Remember…..keep Austin weird
That museum looks epic. If there is a museum in America dedicated to oddities I bet that the Carpetbagger has visited.
The creature in ice is a gaff that was purchased off of Ebay and is on display there. 😂
New bucket list. Thanks.
11:07 the mystery sphere was solved when it was found to be a big ball out of a check valve made by Bell&Howell Corp. mystery solved...but hey...you gotta admit it makes a good conversation piece : )
Jacob don't take this wrong man but your voice always relaxed me man this is like my version of asmr lol
Same here I always watch then listen while I’m trying to sleep..They’re relaxing
Thank you for this virtual tour!
"Freaking oddity history", that's nicely put. P.T. Barnum was a spirit brother of Ripley to be sure.
Very nice museum Jacob, thank you!
All those times I went to the Jackalope after a Thursday Night Social Ride in years past and never noticed this spot. On the other hand, there's actually a "Jackalope #2" on the other side of the river!! Both are some killer spots, even for someone who doesn't frequent bar culture like myself.
Born and raised in Austin,Texas never heard of this place must be new.I will have to check it out looks awesome.
Austinyte here! Yesss
Omg Gingee is super adorable♥ I feel like that two-headed chicken might be fake but I feel they absolutely can exist since other species have that occur as well.
I just went here and it was pretty cool! I would've never knew about it if I didn't see this video thank you !!
London After Midnight is one of the most famous lost films.
Thanks for commin' back down to Texas!
“ Where does that possum reference come from...were you attacked while driving your car?”
The possum is his spirit animal
Thank you so much for sharing this adventure with you.
I went to Obscura in NY before they closed and got a hat signed by the stars.
Lucky!
Didn't know Chang & Eng are in Mt. Airy, NC.
Yup. They married local north Carolina sisters and each had several kids each.
It’s Frankenstein’s monster!!! The doctor is Dr. Frankenstein!!
So happy when I get notified of a new video😁
Didn’t expect a replica of Jeremy Bentham’s head.
I have to go there! That looks like my kind of place.... Road trip!
something about the doink of the camera against the glass and then the pause makes me laugh everytime
Happy greetings and best wishes to you and the family from Joseph .
I really enjoyed this video .thanks for posting this.
King Tut was indeed buried in a tomb in a location called the Valley of the Kings, which also contains tombs of other kings. The idea was that tomb robbers would be less able to rob their tomb, did not work.
But if you could, I am curious about that voodoo place behind you.
Don’t know what I would do without your channel
I did not know they have that here in Austin I am defiantly going to have to check it out.
It's always such a cool feeling when you click on a video & start watching in the same exact minute that it was uploaded by chance lol
Nice to see a collection of CLASSIC horror film icons, rather than yet another bunch of 'slashers'!
16:50
“No, it’s pronounced ‘Fronkensteen’.”
- Dr. Frederick Frankenstein
So that’s who won the bid for that gremlins 2 set piece..
I loved watching the show Oddities! I would love to go to this museum.
My great grandmother had a miniature poodle named scruffy
Very interesting and weirdly interesting
Zoltan looks like Uncle Fester...
The critter was cute
Great museum! Love the waxworks !
I would never see Quasimodo as a monster maybe he looked scary but once you got to know him he had the most beautiful soul and was a gentle kind person and if you were kind to hIm he’d look after you Iv seen the live action versions of the film and at first I was like omg when I first seen him but by the end just wanted to hug him and stroke his cheek even kiss him on the cheek but Disney made him all cute and cuddly
Yes Audrey 2!!!
I've been to obsceura in brooklyn. It's awesome!
I'll have to check this place out next time I'm around Austin looks real cool
Really cool. That was wierd but fun. I think i would be scared to death to go in there. Thanks for taking us with you. Id love to see more of your videos. Im a new subscriber. Thank you.
Parents bought me and my two brothers a Zultan fortune teller each from Sam's club one year
Great vlog
Wow...😮...yeah, that was an incredibly neato place...🤘🏼💯✔️
Always love your videos..love from Australia 💖
Another great museum. Thanks Bob Calderon
So glad you corrected the "Frankenstein" sign to his proper name.
I’d love to visit there!
Loved the show Oddities too.
Great video
Kin Tut was buried in a Tomb in the valley of the kings and in November 1922 Howard Carter found the tomb also it’s believed to be cursed also king Tut was just 18 or 19 when he died theirs tons of theories into his death but his story and the discovery of the tomb is facinating
Another Great video carpet bagger this one's in the bag.
Omg come to Lampasas, TX! 60 miles north of Austin ! 😭
the music there is awsome
03:11 There *were* actually doctors that would separate them, but *the twins didn't want to be separated* - so much so, I believe they were buried together.
I'm going off of info from a Museum btw.
If I'm not mistaken, they took turns at each other's houses (a week each) and always wished to remain together, despite others thinking they would always seek to be separated. Ultimately, they each had their wives and family, separate hobbies and lives.
Interesting! Here in El Paso we had a pawn shop that claimed to have Pancho Villa’s trigger finger. It was on sale for around $9,500. Pretty believable since there’s a Villa stash house near the pawn shop.
Last time i saw it was in 2019. Wonder if these guys bought it? 🤔
I can't see pictures of the bearded lady without hearing "I'm the bearded lady! who are you one of the FREAKS?" from Spaceballs
Very cool museum. Just subbed your channel.
I loved this place!
The jackalope has great food and if you are 21 you can get on the jackalope but you have to have a drink in your hand
