Carpetbagger at a Ripley's and a wax museum and you know it's gonna be good.
Originally, that place was called The Southwestern Historical Wax Museum. The building was built to resemble an old western town building. Not only did it have wax figures depicting old West scenes, but it also had a huge collection of authentic guns actually owned by heroes and outlaws of the old West. The "death car" used in the 1960's version of Bonnie and Clyde with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunnaway was there too. The building had no fire suppression system and in 1988 a fire broke out that ended up destroying the building. At first, it was thought to be an accident, but it was part of a murder cover up of some sort that has yet to be solved.
I think that at least doubles the NOPE for me when it comes to the museum of fear section of Palace of Wax! I’m too much of a fraidy cat to go through there!

A wax museum seems like a difficult thing to maintain in this heat!
Is it my imagination, or are some of the wax figures in these places hit-or-miss? For example, I saw the Potter Trio and wondered if the figures were based on stunt performers instead of the actors themselves.
Australian here - they should have that statue of Brandon doing his speeches! They would make more sense!

I saw Batman Forever 3 times in the theater when it came out. I loved how visually it was so over the top. Val Kilmer didn’t hurt either. Still one of my favorites! Glad to know I’m not alone.

I’ve been there once when I was little. Because it’s been so long, I’m not surprised how much has changed since my first (and last) visit.
I also noticed the Tornado Alley section is apparently no more. I feel sorry for those who enjoyed that section in the past, but I also feel glad that I won’t have to worry about being internally traumatized by that section again, even though mom and I were lucky enough to find a chicken exit path to bypass the wind tunnel!
Maybe someday, I should go visit again, just for old time’s sake?

I always stop by to see what you are up to. Why did Harry Potter look like a 45-year-old accountant? The Donald Trump looked super weird too. The Disney hall of Presidents Trump is also strange…like last year’s left over Jack o lantern.

Went to the new Ripleys in the Dells last week. Less exhibits not the best Ripleys museum not sure its worth $30. Hope you get a chance to check it out. The new Wizard Quest is awesome. Take Jen she would love it.

Look up -- Bass Pro Shop. They have attractions inside. Some have shooter games and ponds, and one even has a motel and wildlife scenes.

Great video again but I don't think the waxworks look anything like the real people, compared to those at Madame Tussauds in London and throughout the world. It looks like a cheap copy.
I remember going here as a kid with my cousins when i was like 5 or 6. There used to be next to the Biblical section, some horror themed section. Basically different signs on the walls with arrows saying which section was scariest. I think we entered the horror section and saw medieval torture or what not but I just remember being traumatized in fear from it as well as seeing Jesus on the cross.
Ripleys attractions in other countries would be amazing if it’s doable.

The quality really varies, doesn’t it? You can have John Cena looking like he’s about to come to like or The Rock looking like Dave Bautista. I mean, unless that was meant to be Dave Bautista… And a Jim Carrey with all the personality or the kids from Harry Potter where you can’t tell which one is supposed to be which.
