The perfect razor for me. Pairs great with a Clifton Classic blade. Two passes with the grain. No pressure and minimal stretching on the first pass. Light, skillful pressure and a bit more stretching on the second pass. Luxurious shaving experience. I love the white chrome finish.

great video , I have a rockwell 6 C gunmetal and just bought a R1 gunmetal , the nice thing is that you mentioned that the R1 is a mild razor , I use normally blade 2 on the 6 C, also very good detailed explanation and description of every process in the video , this is not normal since I see a lot of shavers on the net such as Paulh films, kevy and kensurfs , the worst one is Paulh films , his vocabulary is very elemental and descriptions are very basic , the great ones just as you , are the Italian Dario Lazzarini from l'angelo della rasatura and the french person Cyril from filslade shaving , keep it up , you're great

You ever tried to shave without shaving cream? I have been doing it over 40 years with no razor burn. The trick is to let the skin get used to it. It gives a closer slip free shave because the razor makes better contact with the skin. Most of the time people cut themselves because you to miss your shaving angle because of poor contact with the skin because it's slippery. I just rinse the razor in water while I'm using it and dry the water on a towel before my next swipe. You Don't want anything slippery on your face. Give it two weeks. You could not pay me to use the stuff again.

Hi Geo, I have been shaving with proraso shaving soap and have tried variations of soaps as well. Though, my face dries extremely fast which results in a shaving soap that dries out and starts falling off of my face. Do you, or anyone else here have some tips? Maybe I do not lather well enough or maybe some other problem

Never tried the Rockwell blades but it seems they're a sh*t blades. If you use a more agressive blade you don't need to pass on the same spot 3 or 4 times. Great video as always.
    Cheers

I'm thinking you may be correct. Next time I use it, I'm popping in a Feather to see if there's a difference.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Decent, if very mild razor. However, tighten well and keep checking the tightness. The tto mechanism can become loose mid shave which is not a good experience.
