Having no dad to date that could teach me this kind of things, I'm very grateful towards you for taking your time and give away your knowledge, I've always had a hard time shaving, lot of cuts and irritation, this helped a lot
Thanks Seb! Enjoy!
No cuts, no bleeding. Most beatiful shave i've ever had in my life. Thanks!
I been shaving for about 7 months now and still have been struggling to get an irritation free shave. This tip has reduced my irritation by 3/4's and I am now getting a better shave. Thank you Geofatboy, the best piece of shaving advice I have received to date.
Did you give it up?
@@Mrachsohallo no, I still wet shave, but I'm no longer buying new products, prices have got so stupid, plus I got more shaving supplies here to last me well past my life span. Also I have found you just need to find the correct aggression level razor and blade combination to get an irritation free shave. For me that's a zero blade feel mild razor and Gillette Minora blades.
Which razor do you use?
@@christophersmeltser6564 I use the tatara masamune razor and the coloinal silversmith razor as my primary razors
I just cut my irritation significantly by getting an adjustable razor.
Made a huge difference.
I got a gillette slim in a box of razors that I bought for 20 bucks. It immediately rendered all of my razors trash. There is no reason to use any other razor ever again.
I've been useing a safety razor for about 5 months now and I'm never going back to disposable razors . THANKS 👍

This was incredibly satisfying to watch. Thanks for the great video man!!
This is incredible. I've been DE shaving for 4 years and was never happy with my shave until I followed this technique. Thanks!
HEY GEOFATBOY, THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME THAT LITTLE TIP!
You're the best GeoFatBoy, you've taught me so much about getting the perfect shave and how to shave everyday!
This video is a blessing, im about a month into my ever first saftey razor still learning.
I am in DE shaving since only 3-4 weeks and this video helped me a LOT! Tried once and got my best shave so far, Thanks Geo!
You are one of my favorites wet shaving CZcamsrs!
nahyan khan, you said it perfectly. This gentleman is a jedi shaving warrior. The absolute best way to shave and I'm pissed my dad never shared this with me. :-)
Jedi Shaving Warrior you say 😎
My dad never taught me how to shave either. Had to teach myself. The thing is my dad can't shave anything like decent anyway. I've had to teach him how to do it correctly and i'm still working on him. Not just on shaving but many other things too. He has no patience to learn anything.
This kind of shaving has been pretty much forgotten since the advent of multi-blade disposable cartridge razors. I wish that I had known about it 30 years ago.
Great video. Very informative, no fluff.
My dad died in a car accident before I could shave, and I never really had anyone teach me. So I sort of figured it out as I went along.
I read some articles I googled, but this live example with advice really cleared some things up.
Much appreciated.
That twist razor looks awesome. When I buy it I will definitely buy from your link.
i know what that's like, to lose your dad too early in life i mean. My condolences.
Thank you for the third pass technique! So helpful how to catch right angle! I’ve got Baby Smooth my first time a life finally! Thank you again

Great video as always! I just found this channel yesterday and subbed. Today I placed my first order from Shave Nation! Thanks again!

Priceless advices as always! Thank you very much, sir!
Excellent. Thanks for the guide.
I must have watched about 20 of your older videos over the past several months before this one came up in the playlist. This is the best tip yet!
Geo, you're a great instructor and I just started using the safety razor about a month ago! My goal is to shave as quick and safely as you. Keep it up and on this video, I learned about the gradual reduction and how to angle the blade just right!! Thanks!!!
Nothing like the feeling of a good shave.
Very good advices!
Thank you so much.

Never seen someone who shaves with safety razors as quick as you are. True skills right there 👍
Thanks Felix. I put in the work!
Thanks for this video. Great technique for going against the grain on that 3rd pass. That was one aspect of my technique that was a bit weak.
Another great shaving tip. Thank you!
Your videos have turned shaving into a whole experience for me rather than a mindless chore. I've been learning everything I can through your videos. Thank you.
Wowww! Thank you very much for your advise. This one with the special angle helped me very much.

Changing the angle of your razor, users of straight razor have been doing that for generations, glad that you brought back that information for current shavers.
Thanks Richard!
Awesome. Thank you for this

I’m 17 so I’m just getting used to shaving regularly. I’ve gotta try a safety razor-I’ve heard that they’re much nicer than disposable ones. Thank you for the tips!
I just turned 18 and I've been using a safety razor for a little over a month now. There's a pretty large learning curve that I'm still working on, but I am happy with the swap so far!
@@carlthefriendlyllama2126 Yeah, once you learn how to take your time and use quality products, you can make a nice ritual out of it. Shaving time is "me" time. Sometimes I play music.
I once dated a girl who liked to watch me do it for some reason.
I got used to shaving regularly at 13 years old, sheesh
22 here. I can attest to the greater quality of a safety razor.
I seriously recommend that anyone that may need a first shave just start out with a safety razor and DE blades, be ready to spend some money and get a good one like a Merkur, and use shave soap or cream rather than aerosol products. Don't waste your time with cartridge systems, it is all marketing and mostly a scam!
This is helpful thanks 😊

I am new to DE shaving although I have been shaving for over 40 years. Purchased the Henson AL13 Mild (Black looks sick). I have sensitive skin and shave every second day. This method is the bomb. I have followed it religiously and it works like MAGIC. I get a BBS smooth shave on my cheeks and an irritation-free shave below the jawline.
Geo should be crowned the "Godfather of Shaving". He's got my vote. Do any others feel the same way?
That's Great Robert! Thanks for sharing the Love and your positive comments are well appreciated.
Had no intention of shaving off my beard before this but now I’m very tempted
Same, I never get that baby smooth so I have given up. Maybe I just need to try this technique.
Man, good i found your video, I’ve been struggling with this
5:55++ has enabled me to have a proper DE shave! smooth and irritation free on my sixth wet shave. good shave good day thanks GEO
Interesting. I had some horrible ATG experiences many years ago and swore I'd never do that again. I've been trying to get a close shave WTG. It works but it's a lot of work. Your method here looks like it would avoid the problems I had with ATG and probably get me a good shave a lot quicker. Thanks very much for this video.
It does work for a lot of people.
Awesome techniques man! You are an artist with a razor. I have very sensitive skin and usually avoid against the grain unless I REALLY need a close shave. But after seeing this I'm gonna try it. Keep up the great vids. We appreciate it.

Good tip! I will try it out.
Nice. I learned some things. Thanks! One thing I learned a long time ago from a Gillette publication from the 1960's, was that the beard has different densities. The cheeks/sides of the face and neck are the least dense and should be shaved first. Then the mustache area and finally the chin. The chin is the most dense. By going in this order, at least for the first pass, the more dense areas of the beard are given longer to soften with the most dense area, the chin, being given the longest time to soften.
I just became a subscriber. Thanks again.
Thanks for your comment!

The Wanderer be a man and let your beard grow
Thomas Jefferson how about you be a man and let your beard grow like it was intended to, there is a reason why it's there..
Thomas Jefferson yes sir..
Thomas Jefferson listen , one of the main things that separates men from boys and men from women is facial hair, why the hell would you try to go against what God created you to look like? There is nothing wrong with grooming your beard and keeping it at a certain lengh of your choice but shaving it all off? That's a big no no.. And a waste of money too all that money adds up, also your cutting up your skin and putting toxic liquid on it every day, when all you have to simply do is let your beard grow and groom it at the barbershop every few weeks vs shaving everyday..
Thomas Jefferson I believe I already addressed why men shouldn't be shaving off there facial hair completely, I don't care about the other stuff your talking about..
Brother, Thank you for your videos and tips. I just shaved with my first DE razor - Parker 76R. Your tips definitely made this a nick-free shave. After 44 years and using cartridge razors 25 of those years, I feel like an adult now. I’m talkin baby smooth. 🙏🏻
That's Awesome! Congrats to you. Enjoy the BBS-ness of the shave! You just can't stop touching your face after shaving-AKA? Anybody know what that's called? czcams.com/video/5F-t_EnX200/video.html
geofatboy , These are awesome. After my first weeper-free BBS, the only irritation is from faceturbating 😂. The next frontier is a BBS on the head. Will report back after the SOTN. ✌️
Just shaved the dome with the DE for the first time. BBS like a BOSS, baby! I can’t stop headsturbating. Also took your advice on “picking up the pace” with the shave with great result. Thanks again!

Hey Geo!
Dave here from Bristol, England. Love your videos! I seem to have major issues with soreness after shaving. I use sensitive soaps such as Proraso white or Arko. I do 3 passes. I now have a Rockwell 6c that I am working with to find a plate that gives the least irritation. I have slight issues as I had Acne when I was a teenager (I'm 58 now) so my face is not perfectly smooth. I also have a 34c, and a Mulhe R89. I have used plates 3, 4 & 2 on the Rockwell with Feather blades. Do you think it would be better to use a coarse plate and work less but carefully or a milder plate? I have just shaved with the 2 plate and face is very sore. Should I just shave with the grain and have done with it? I find even going against the grain as you do here still makes my face sore. Would I be better to stick with a Silver tip brush or is super badger ok? Any advice you can give me would be appreciated. Keep up the great videos!!
Many thanks and best wishes from England.
Tr an astra blade. I am new to wet shaving myself and I find feather blades to be pretty rough on my face. Good luck, I think it’s lol about what’s right for you.. I would also suggest a sample pack of blades to help you find the match for you
@@Ou812ui Hi Mike, My post was over a year ago now so I'm much further along. I keep a shaving log as I have 28 razors, 17 brushes about 40 different blade makes and about 35 soaps.
