  • This is a tip on anyone having issues with the 2004 - 2008 5.4L and 4.6L engine shake and cylinder misfire codes. Codes like P0303 Cylinder misfire detected. These are some things you can try before doing the plugs and coils. Flashing engine lights and misfires are common.

    This worked great. I removed my plug ins to the PCM, sprayed the pins with CRC Electrical Connector Cleaner and used my air compressor to dry them out and clean out any debris. These pins were very clean anyway. Then I went to Lowes and picked up the weather stripping and cleaned off the old gasket material on the air filter case. I also vaccumed out the area where the filter goes. It is running much better. Thanks so much!!

    Different year: 2002 F150 Triton 5.4l. I replaced A/C and all hell broke loose. I had p0352 (second cylinder electrical issue) and A/C compressor would not run. Changed spark plug, injector, ignitor coil with no luck on p0352. Finally, after two year delay, I re-inspected the electrical connectors on the firewall for possible damage. I found that two of the pins in the bolt together connector were pushed back and probably not making good contact. I also found that IF I had a p0352 code the A/C compressor would not run. Every time. When I fixed the connector, both p0352 disappeared AND the A/C compressor ran. I am not sure of the reason for this. This was a key find and allowed me to finally fix both issues by making sure the connector was in good condition. If your not successful at first or only have a temporary/intermittent fix, examine the connector even more closely to make sure that the pins are clean, the gasket is not preventing full engagement, and that your connections to the ignitor coil and fuel injector are securely engaged.

    What is the hose just to the right of the PCM thicker diameter, ribbed, curved back into cab, connects to a stiff metal line/pipe. I seem to have a leak from there into cylinder 4 which is causing my truck to misfire.

    • @StraightToThePointTutorials
      @StraightToThePointTutorials  Před rokem

      Heater core goes into the cab for heat. You're probably leaking coolant into the sparkplug well and shorting out the coils

    • @Jabullz
      @Jabullz Před rokem +1

      Coolant is probably leaking into the coil. You'll need to replace the boot, spring and plug and definitely get the leak fixed or it'll continue to happen. Easy way to check is after letting your engine cool down for a couple of hours pop the coil pack off and look down into your spark plug inlet. If there's any moisture, that's not good.

    So I bought a 2008 f150 with this problem ford said it was cam phaser problem we put in new phasers, timing chains, sensors and tensioners but had troubles timing the engine so we took into a local shop and they “fixed” it for $3,600 and the truck ran great for 3 months no problems I even took it off roading in some mud and worked prefect. Last weekend I took it out to our campsite and the truck stalled out. I drove it home with little to no problem and I took it out today for a 15 min drive to see what would happen and the check engine light came on and it the rev meter was trembling and misfires and it was shaking going 80kmh down the road and the knocking was pretty bad. We put in a code reader and it had the P0300 code. So next week or so we’re gonna replace the spark plugs and see what happens and try things to get it running so I can just sell it and be done with it.

      @@JabullzI hate over engineered crap like the 3v Triton. I had a 2000 Silverado that never let me down until a rock busted the transmission. 380k miles.
      This 04 f150 is bleeding me of my time and money. It's spent more time sitting in the few years I've owned it than I've driven it. 170k miles.
      The engine is a horrible design, it's electric system is chaotic. My dash lights quit working, then the obd Port, then the 4x4, now the bad misfire. I've done timing chain, phasers, lifters, rollers, cams, oil pump... It's just a piece of shit 🤷 I'll take an obs over anything 2000s and up.

    Cleaned the plugs and now runs great with engine light off. Saved me big time 👌🏻
