I was an auto mechanic for over 50 years and got just one more project....recondition the top end on my e350 5.4L 2002 ...got 180 thousand so going to pull heads and put all new stainless steel spark plug inserts....check valve clearances and timming chains and sprockets along with watr pump ...dreading it ...dont enjoy wrenching like i use to.

Only reason that number 8 cyl had oil in it was because of the weak to no spark from faulty coif a cylinder isn't firing it will get oil in from past the rings..where if the cylinder was firing then the rings wouldn't let oil by because they seal when the compression sparks and adds pressure against the cylinder walls.

I have a 2003 DODGE CARAVAN SE and it has 4 codes, P1684, P0300, P0301 & P0420. I like the message you give in this video it's very important! I want to diagnose the vehicle. I dont know how to read spark plugs.
Those codes show that your misfire is on cylinder 1. Look up the engine firing order on Google for cylinder numbers, then check that cyl 1 spark plug, compare it to the one next to it, if they look the same, try swapping the coil from cyl 1 and the cylinder near it, then clear codes and see if the misfire is still on cylinder 1 or moved to the cylinder you swapped coils with. If it moved, it's a bad coil
The 2003 DODGE CARAVAN SE has a coil pack it doesn't have individual ignition coils, how would i go about swapping the coil from cylinder 1 and the cylinder near it on the coil pack?@@joyofwrenching
@@AlwaysDiagnoseVehicleFirstok, so ignore the coil, but you can swap wires or spark plugs, and if it's not a spark issue on that cylinder it could be fuel injector clogged on it.
