Coming from a Wing's fan, Osgood is in the Hall of Very Good. He only finished top 3 in Vezina votes once and his stats back it up. He doesn't have any career stats in the top 20 for the league. Only lead in Wins and GAA once along with playing back up most of his career.

Esa Tikkanen. He was the league's best 3rd line pest, won 5 Stanley Cups (four with Edmonton and one with the Rangers), and retired with over 130 career playoff points. He might not be the most talented player, but if Guy Carbonneau is in the hall because he's a character guy, then Tikkanen should be as well.

  • @turarosicky

Claude Lemieux. His achievements is often overlooked because of that draper hit that started whole detroit-colorado rivalry. his reputation doesn't help him either as a pest. but guy was a winner and one of the best playoff performers ever. 4 stanley cups and conn smythe trophy.
another player that is snubbed for his reputation or more about his character off the ice is definitely Roenick. his numbers are to good to overlook. yet he still is out of hall of fame

Too many of the voters have seen him play. Have you seen the clip of him faking getting hurt prior to the faceoff, despite the guy literally not being anywhere near him? Rolled around on the ice like a clown for an embarrassing amount of time. He was a cheater at heart, a stain on the game. Really not the image you want for any Hall of Fame.

I would put Curtis Joseph in ahead of Chris Osgood. He had an outstanding career and still has the 7th most wins all time. Osgood was an ordinary goalie who played on great teams. Joseph was a great goalie who played on good teams than often relied on him to win games and series singlehandedly. That may be why he is now overlooked which is a real shame.

Great list of players. But there is no way Huddy, or McTavish should be on that list. You must be a big time Oilers fan.

Didn't watch the video yet, but here's my list:
Goalies: *Joseph* - He absolutely belongs. He made every team he went to better.
He was one of the best in an era where Roy, Hasek, and Brodeur played! Lol He was right behind them, and they are possibly the 3 best goalies ever. (Maybe Dryden breaks up that top 3).
*Chris Osgood* - He was a fighter and later in his career could've been called a "money goalie" !! He was below average those later years but played awesome in the playoffs. He was robbed of the Vezina in 96, and the Conn Smythe in 08' too.
In 09 he came 🤏 < [this close] to winning a 3rd cup as a starter and he was fantastic for Detroit. He's got reg season numbers. He's got playoff stats. He's got cups... He 100% belongs.
I always thought it was funny that what's keeping Joseph out basically is that "Well he didn't win a cup, even with Detroit" while what's keeping Osgood out is that "Well he won 3 cups and 2 as a starter, but that was with Detroit" !! Lmao 🤷‍♂️
    It's hilarious.
Others on my list: *Tim Thomas* 2 Vezinas, a cup, an amazing but short career, and a Conn Smythe. He was a legendary goalie for several years. I think that's enough if it was enough for Bill Durnan..
*Mike Vernon* probably the second best goalie of the 80's behind Fuhr.
He was fantastic in winning two cups and a Conn Smythe.
*Tom Barrasso* Forgotten about by many, but awesome in several seasons of his career, and average in others. Injuries hurt him later on too.
One of the greatest stickhandling goalies ever, and huge in the Pens 2 cup wins. Add a Vezina as an 18 year old rookie out of high school hockey, and a Jennings his second year too. He struggled early to mid career-ish while his daughter battled cancer too.. but he rebounded.
    Forwards: *Alex Mogilny*
I have a feeling next year he'll get in, but they should shut the place down in shame if he doesn't.
He was better than Lanny McDonald and McDonald better be pulling for him to get in.
*Theo Fleury* He was great imo. The fact that he was so good while battling substance abuse issues, after being molested as a young player, is pretty amazing.. He was 5' 6" too, a little guy that played BIG. He was very skilled and accomplished too!
*Tim Kerr!!* What a GREAT goal scorer!! A broken leg, knee injuries, I think 13 surgeries on his shoulder, and his wife sadly passing away... it took all of that to destroy his career, and he still had a couple really good parts of seasons after all of that.
He could've easily had 7+ straight 50 goal seasons.. dude was a beast.
(If Neely is in.... why isn't Kerr?)
*Pierre Turgeon* IDC if he was "soft" at times. The dude was SMOOTH as silk and has 500g, 800a, and 1300pts.
    Put him in.
*Tkachuk, Roenick, Brind-Amour, and Brian Propp* should all get serious attention too.
I feel like Tkachuk and Brind-Amour belong for sure.
Maybe Steve Larmer too, but there has to be a line and maybe guys like Roenick, Nicholls, Larmer, Propp, etc just don't belong. I'm cool with that.
    That's all lol

There’s no question as to why Mogilny isn’t in because his best years were in Vancouver. That automatically seems to be a strike against any player. And to make Theo fleury’s journey more remarkable is he did it as a sexual abuse and assault survivor

Patrick Elias and Mogilny got Snubbed. St Louis got in last year, Elias won more cups, had better PPG totals, and head to head playoff matchup Elias outperformed him. IF Elias didn't get Hep C which changed his body completely, he would be easily in the 1200 career points club

    @father042 Před 3 lety +4

Jeremy Roenick, Daniel Alfredsson and Bernie Nicholls deserve to get in as well, Roenick doesn't have any individual awards and wasn't very well liked but had solid stats, Alfredsson was one of the best steals of all time and great captain for the Sens and Nicholls had an incredible 150 point season.
Dale Hunter and Pat Verbeek also had solid stats but won't get in because they were notorious pests.
