2:22 *That's* the version of the Scotch ad that I remember! Other uploads don't have that "Every year, win a holiday" line. (I'm glad that many tape owners chose to hang onto their recordings instead of re-recording - as I'm sure you'll agree!)
Stumbling across Sky Sports clips gets me excited that I'll find some narration that comes close to that famous Mitchell & Webb sketch but it never quite reaches that level of hyperbole.
That 'This will go down in history as one of the games played this weekend' sketch? Yeah, I associate that tone more with the late 90s and early 00s. International superstar Beckham era. Although it's still all overhyped to the point of ruining the chance to just enjoy a good match, in my opinion.

0:49 Unintentional, but still amusing. :D Glad to see you finally stumbled upon this short ad break and unique ident. :) That Worthington ad with I believe Harry Enfield in it was weird. Then there's Scotch's unbelievable 'win a holiday every year' competition, obviously 3M covered their backsides so that they didn't REALLY do that. Perhaps no one actually won the competition and that was why they avoided it? But who knows? Thanks again for uploading this. :)
Yeah, this is that clip you reminded me about, isn't it? I finally got round to tying up that particular loose end. I imagine that 'win a holiday every year' quickly turned into 'Which Butlin's would you like to spend a weekend at?' I still want to know if they'll honour the lifetime guarantee that came with their tapes...
@@VideotapeFTW Well considering that VHS tapes are considered an obsolete format nowadays, I doubt it. :D Great job there Minnesota. :D But yeah this was one of quite a few that you missed the first time around and I don't really blame you as I did sent you a LOT of stuff. :D
I think when I started on your tapes, I mostly decided to save ads for one of my compilations if the break wasn't attached to anything interesting or uploadable. I've since decided that uploading whole breaks is the more sensible thing to do, but I haven't (yet) gone back to the ones I skipped. To be honest, I've lost track - if you've got any specific requests, just say.
@@VideotapeFTW That's understandable. That and on top of the fact that I sent you so many as well, it's possible that you just overlooked a few things. (Maybe one of those things is the aforementioned T.I.G.S. programme from the other conversation we had, but I guess we'll see). I know that there was a chunk of TV-AM's Cartoon World that still hasn't graced your channel yet, though the quality is even more so-so then what is on my tapes from the turn of the century, LOL. :D
I seem to remember that there just wasn't much I could upload of that Cartoon World recording, but I'll revisit that.
Any idea what else would have been on that T.I.G.S. tape? I can't believe for a second that I'd have missed a whole episode of something like that, but I'll double check.
In the coke advert, the kid in the black and white striped top - is that danny dyer?
