    Super late to the party, but after using these products for a long while, I think the liquid wax as a foundation with the spray topper seems to be the best of both worlds. Seems to last longer than just the spray, and the liquid wax product seems to fill the micro marring just a little bit more. I still think for a one and done, the spray is unbeatable but if you want to layer it and maintain with their liquid detailer you'll really see some solid performance.

    • @raksh9
      @raksh9 Před rokem +3

      My process has been to apply Hybrid Ceramic liquid wax as a base, wait for it to cure, then apply the Hybrid Ceramic spray as a spray-on sealant rather than a drying aid. After three applications of the spray over the course of a year, water still beads after at least four months. This year, I'll be stripping all layers of sealant, removing iron particles and claying the car, then do some polishing and correction to get the car back to a clean slate. Then I'll either stay with Hybrid Ceramic or try a graphene sealant.

    For me the spray has been working great and it is awesome to see that I can wet-apply it like it says on the bottle and rejuvenate or even boost the beading during each wash. It takes just a few squirts and I also think using a flat fan to "spread" the product on the panel before it rinses off helps ensure complete coverage.

      A number of people recommend using the hybrid ceramic spray on a lightly damp car, spraying it on and spreading it with a microfiber cloth, then buffing off the residue. This seems to produce the best results, rather than spraying it on and rinsing it with a hose. I do all applications of hybrid ceramic spray this way, and water beading continues for a few months afterwards.

      Meguiar's makes a ceramic wash that boosts the hydrophobic properties after applying either the spray HCSW or the HCLW. As far as the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer goes, it is a great product, but I only recommend using it when the surface is cool or even cold. Otherwise, it streaks really bad. I have been using Meguiar's products for 41 years, and I am super happy with their hybrid ceramic products.

      Absolutely clay first. You should not have any contaminants on your clear coat. Depending upon your current condition machine polish/compound may be in order. Wax is just covering what ever is bonded to the surface already.

    I wanted the Hybrid Ceramic spray wax but it wasn't available ao I got the bottle of liquid Hybrid Ceramic wax. I think the liquid was a bit better in your video. It's all good B/C I always apply the product to an applicator anyway, even with detailer.

    I'm an old school f11 user. I ordered nexgen and tried it on my John Deere tractor this spring. Simply amazed! Have had that tractor in the mud and washed down with just a rinse after the mud dried. Next is our Harley trike. I plan on a few coats unless you don't recommend it. Anyone interested in buying some f11 , almost two bottles left. After seeing my tractor , my Sons want NEXGEN for their bikes! Damn , I had to buy extra. They grow up , but , never move out!

    Hi, I have been unsure whether to use the liquid wax first as a base and then use the spray wax afterwards to maintain the finish or just use the spray wax on its own? I live in a very dusty climate, not the USA, so for me the shiny silky finish finish is really important to help prevent dust collecting. Do you have any recommendations for me regarding a different product or is this spray wax the way to go? Great video, thanks in advance

      This is also what I was wondering, apply the liquid wax once every six months let’s say and then top with the spray on wax inbetween like every month or so

    Great video and testing Jimbo!
    That Bleach tire cleaner is that actually bleach in it. It seems to be so and very strong one that is as it took them out so quick. Would maybe be interesting to see how it does with a weaker APC or something that other products stands up to. It's like when you used the Optimum Power Clean straight before and it pretty much took everything out exept a very few like SNS.
    Perfect example of how HCW behave and why it needs to be applyied in the way they recommend. When you topped it with it self you saw their where not much of water standing on the paint. And it gave you a better water behavior directly after the application with just spray on and rinse off. On the Liquid Ceramic Wax the water was standing flat. It's here recommended that you spray it on the wet paint and then dry it with a mf drying towel. You could also just wipe it in and rinse off and see that it will working that way to. But when you have water standing flat on the paint it's not able to break through the water tension and just rinses off. So that's why they recommend you to work it in while you drying the paint. Maybe on the HCW side it had some residue of the Bleach product that you used. As this is something that these spray on rinse off products is sensitive if even you have a little car soap residue left it will degrade the performance you get from the spray on rinse off products. But interesting to see how HCW looked when getting on the standing water and how it don't works then with the spray on rinse off method and needs to be helped by getting through the water to work.

    Question: why put so much other stuff over the wax after you applied it? Why not just leave the wax itself to get a true test of how the product works?

    it's my understanding that the spray is for applying over top of ceramic or wax - such as the liquid stuff - to add protection and for quick touch up

    Jimbo, in this test Maguire's spray won over the liquid, however, you briefly mentioned there was another spray ceramic that you liked better. Which one do you like better? I like the ease of use of Maguire's Hybrid Ceamic Spray and have had decent results by following it with Maguire's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer. I would prefer better longevity and protection after use. What spray on(or spray and rinse) shine and protection do you recommend?
