    Here's a tip though, if no one has already addressed it, when you rinse the mit squeeze it outside the bucket instead of back into the bucket so it keeps your rinse water cleaner longer and when it gets low just refill.

      Man oh man black cars - I’ve bled black many times over the years. Great video.
      Given I’m not a detailing business I’d only have my vehicle to worry about. When washing I’d have about 12 mitts soaking in the wash solution. The wash wash solution costs enough (as does everything), so you may as well soak as much solution as you can all through your wash mitts ready to go. Use one, throw it in the bucket, you’ve got another freshly soaked sudsy mitt ready to go. Once you have the mitts it’s a no brainer, and you get way more from your wash solution. It’s easy to build em up through b’days/Xmas/Father’s Day etc, beats gettin socks and jocks💪💪

    I bought my wife a 2016 golf last weekend and just detailed it this weekend following this video. It looks brand new! I went to 4 different stores trying to put this ultimate collection together. Still couldn't find the wash and pre wash but found everything else. The compound gave me a lot of trouble but I'm sure the $20 orbital detailer wasn't helping the situation. At the end of the day I think my first time detailing my own car was very successful! Thanks!

      They really did a great job with this car the only thing I would change would be not to use the detailing spray with the clay bar basically all of them have a wax in them and you want your paint clean and free of any wax before you add any long lasting hard wax. This car was pretty swirled up, but wasn't faded so the heavy compound was probably not needed just the polish. I'd recommend only using the compound in heavy faded spots and only using polish in between long periods on not waxing.

    • @Steve211Ucdhihifvshi
      @Steve211Ucdhihifvshi Před 3 lety +1

      Yep agree, the compound just stripped the clearcoat back. For some reason its a big secret, but if you strip the paint, your doing just that stripping a layer of something away from it. It all comes down to the buffer but to be honest.
      Id use the wax only with the buffer and then do it a second time

    Really enjoyed the vid; as a DIY I use a variety of products to include Meg’s-their wash, compund, polish and wax are all great. Less harsh than the compound is their #6 cleaner for not so tough jobs. Also use the interior cleaner and leather conditioner which has a good scent. However, I use Cerakote on plastic trim (sorry Meg’s but this stuff is the bomb) and Invisible Glass for windows. For wheels and tires I use their Ultimate Wheel cleaner diluted 50% in a bottle and just abount any tire dressing as most are silicone based. Keep up the R&D!!

I just bought a black rav4 and was looking to find ways to keep it in this glossy finish. Great video. Clearly shows the difference. Too much background noise though. You should definitely do another one with some less noise just because the way you teach how to apply in every step is very easy to understand even as a newbie. 👍👍

    I been using Meguiars ever since I got my first car I still drive to this day. I had finally stepped a chance 2 years ago to use a DA polisher and the ultimate compound and polish. It was a 10 hour job but worth it in the end. Car looks better than ever considering it was used when I purchased it
