►About the Game -
The Extrication is a standalone sequel to The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation, and is a reimagined adaptation of the thriller film The Bridge Curse 2: Ritual. It is a first-person survival horror game, seen from the perspective of multiple characters, that uses a modern, campus ghost story as the basis for its plot.
The Story
The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication takes place at Wen Hua University, one of the ten universities in Taiwan known for its unsettling ghost stories. To attract new members to the film club, a group of students has decided to hold the Carnival of Horror in the Da Ren building, which abounds with rumors of ghost sightings. They plan on re-enacting a bizarre case that happened on campus decades ago and turning it into a horror movie, but as they rush to film in the depths of night, strange things start to happen...
At the same time, a reporter arrives on campus after receiving an eerie letter in hopes of resolving a mysterious missing persons case from the past. After piecing together a series of clues, the mystery unravels and a massive conspiracy covered in darkness is on the verge of emerging.
As they frantically try to escape, the terrifying being behind the specter-infested building gradually reveals itself... With demons closing in and impending doom at hand, will anyone survive the horrors of the night?

This game is a massive hit out of the park. So much more polished (where it matters) and not afraid to embrace camp at the same time. These devs have outdone themselves.
i watched a bit of domplays, and he complained about this game, the one thing i don’t get about people who complain and criticize how bad something is that someone else created, yet these same people don’t know what it takes to create any type of art, which to me makes no sense its like someone complaining about someone else’s food they made was horrible yet they themselves can’t even cook/bake
@@nicklopez8004 I don't fully understand it either, but indie and AA isn't for everyone - something I try to keep in mind. Personally AA titles are where my personal sweet spot lies as those titles take more creative liberties and aren't afraid to play with new mechanics. Not everything is going to hit, but generally the dev enthusiasm and vision will make up for it.
Completely unrelated, but I learned through a youtube dive that this game (like the first) is *also* based on a Bridge Curse movie that came out in 2023. It seems like the chief difference is that instead of a movie, characters were making a video game. Given how recently this came out, the devs almost had to be working alongside (or in collaboration) with the movie creative team on some level don't you think? This is far too polished to have been started after the film release.
Taiwanese and Korean devs make the best horror games imo.
They already have a lot of good folklore, but overall they just are good at the execution. I wouldnt call this game the best example, but its definetly way better than a bunch of other shit horror games that become popular (way scarier).

Man, I love the characters and voice acting in this game--so goofy and endearing. I'm rooting for an eventual happy heavenly reunion for Tan Jun-mei (Sugar Poots 😆) and Sergeant Huang. Glad to see Sue Lian alive, for now at least.

I like how additional parts of a plot are connected one to the other to make a whole picture. In all it's goofiness the story really make sense and I really hope they will help all the ghosts to leave this place.

"Poots" or "Poot" was a baby name for my baby Frenchie. Poot Lovato. Bulldogs can get the trumps, and since she was a little girl, she had poots instead of toots. Far too girly to ever fart, though she would get me with friendly fire in her sleep. These would be some of the most powerful poots ever let off. They’d actually strip varnish off a foot locker. I’ve been missing her terribly and then watching this and hearing "poots" in some random video from…I don’t know when…Made me think that she had heard me crying and this was Poots way of telling mummy that it was okay. She’s still here. Thank you, Chris, and thank you Miss Sadie-Grace, mumma misses you, Poot, and not a week has gone by that I don’t cry because I miss you so much. It will be six years…and I still cry at the thought of you.
For my fellow dog mums and dads, tell your babies how much you love them. They could live an eternity, and it still wouldn’t be long enough. They take the best parts of you with them when they go.

I'm not sure if this is scary, jump scare-wise it is, but it does feel like it has set itself up for another movie. The plot carries itself along those lines.

This game is depressing
The first game is as well but thats the point. In the first one we had a character who took their life and lost a friend which made them sad and more vulnerable to possession.
I ain’t gonna lie…A-Hai’s voice actor ruined the immersion of this chapter for me 😩 she just felt emotionless…and especially alongside the other voices who are all very expressive and very talented…she stands out in a bad way unfortunately ☹️
