►About the Game -
Welcome to the Room 817 at 6 Lane Street, the scariest place in the United States. Rumors say that Evil himself resides there. Residents throughout the neighborhood consider this creepy apartment to be cursed, but fear always attracts adventurers, and secrets are only revealed to the brave. In August 1997, two police officers disappeared in this place and their bodies were never found.
Almost a year after those terrified events, journalist Alan Parker decides to conduct his own investigation and find out what happened to the missing police officers. On his behalf, you will have to solve interesting puzzles, avoid traps, and come face to face with the terrible monsters that inhabit the place.
Will you have the courage to find out the scariest secrets of The Room 817 and survive?
A true old-school horror experience. There are no maps, hints, or tutorials here. No one will hold your hand and tell you how to breathe. Remember what
it means to survive.
Gameplay that doesn't forgive mistakes. Death is awaiting around every corner. Watch where you step! Traps and bottomless pits abound!
One life, one try. This game isn't for those who like to save their progress every 10 seconds. There are no checkpoints or save points here. Either you survive or you die.
Run or hide. You're not the predator, you're the prey. The Ancient Evil lurking here awaits its encounter with you.
Listen to what's happening around you. The faint creak of the floorboards or the heavy tread of the monster can help you understand where not to go.
Look around and remember. There's no logic in this place, only your memory and attention to detail will help you solve all the puzzles and find a way out.
An atmosphere of primal terror. Explore the cursed apartment with your camera and flashlight. Uncover all the secrets of this place and find out what happened here.

Room service simulator, watch while CJ desperately tries to deliver a plate of cold cuts.
🤣
At first this comment confused me.. until about 10 minutes into the video😂😂😂
😂
Eatiiiinnnng 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Apt.
Oooooooooh, those restarts were agonizing. 😬😂 Thanks for taking one (or two ) for the team, CJU. Next time the going gets tough, I'll remember your sage words, "Oh God, where the f*ck am I? Where the hell was it?! I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE!!" 🤣
The reaction to finding the fuse - bane of all indie horror games ever! 😂
At some point I got into the habit of saying, “Yup, it’s a horror game,” every time a let’s player finds a fuse. I’m both amused and amazed just how often I say it.
My grandmother was from Tulsa. She never mentioned anything about an eldritch family deity. I feel so cheated.
Wow, I can't remember the last time I heard Chris so frustrated. Poor guy!
You poor bastard, I can't believe you actually started up a third time.
Old school horror: Let's disarm bear traps and do some journaling! 🤣
When you cry “A fuse!“ there‘s a world of meaning in those two words, and it‘s not good.
The sheer despair.. I can't stop chuckling at those two words 🤣
I think the expansive and difficult to navigate area really drove home the feelings of confusion and ultimately despair that were expressed by the officer in the letters. I imagine this was a bit frustrating to actually finish, but I will say that it was a very fun video to watch and made for a great lunch hour. So thank you for that lol.
This is quite possibly the most animated I have ever heard Chris been in a game. Lots of gasping going on!
I admire your patience, I wouldn't be able to play this at all.
Why tho?
@@Graddg
It's frankly, kind of terrible. If it had a save feature each key, it would be a lot better.
Same. I'd have probably lost interest and given up pretty quickly.
This was all orchestrated by the high council of Henry Johnsons
I Love it 😂
LOL I needed that laugh. Thanks!
What is this henry johnson thing I've been seeing?
@@fjorgyn7438 A few days ago Chris played a game (a bad one) where every NPC was named Henry Johnson.
@@rachelsheppard9122 which one?
Damn. I was hoping to see that house return for a 4th time.
it's actually kinda refreshing to see a game that is challenging (even if it's not that complex) especially after a lot of fairly straightforward games lately
55:47 funny enough, Chris saying he wish it was the credit screen and knowing him he would’ve said the ending was dissatisfying so good thing it wasn’t the credits 😆😂😂 This game definitely gave me The Conjuring House vibes but it’s own feel I liked it!
Yessss! An hour of Chris is exactly what was needed today! ❤
This game looks extremely difficult, i understand Chris's frustration!
I loved this one!!!! Normally I hate when you're thrown to the wolves and have to figure everything out on your own but this one made it quite enjoyable!!! I'm so sorry you had to go through it multiple times but you did great and it was very entertaining!! Thank you cj!!
*Potential SPOILERS* about the room behind the door with the symbols
Hey Chris. Thought I would let you know that you didn't miss much by not getting into the room with the symbols on the door. You just get a confession note from the father and if you explore the vent leading off of that room, you can find a skull that you can pick up with the description 'The secret is found!'. That's it. The vent leading off of that room is the same vent you could see from the boards/planks earlier in your playthrough that you couldn't reach.
Hey there! Not exactly. That was on mobile version of the game. PC version contains something more valuable 😉
The secret room with the 4 symbols is underwhelming. It's a short page talking about his dead wife Anna, and a human skull that disappears when clicked.
Thank you! Was curious about that.
Thanks!
Thank you!! I was so curious what was in there
Hey there! Not exactly. That was on mobile version of the game. PC version contains something more valuable 😉
Oh, but I felt for you when you died. Third time’s the charm, or so I’m told.
That was very tense by the end. Thank you for going through it three times.
This game has more entertainment value than that flesh whatever game a few days back. Although this one was rough around the edges, this one had one thing important - true entertainment value.
Clean it up a bit and add a few inventory slots and it has a lot of potential
Glad you played this. I would not have the patience to keep starting over from the beginning! Good job!
That was a heck of an ordeal. Congratulations on surviving. You deserve a cookie (or biscuit, depending on your side of the pond).
Nice job Chris. You made it! No checkpoints makes this a no-go for me.
That gave me a, “the call is coming from inside the house” vibe.
We don't deserve the suffering you sometimes go through for our entertainment and you're the best for it. You make horrible games have really good value just because of your personality and how you so easily interact with us like you've known us since childhood.
Wow Chris is struggling with this game. The restart is cruel
If I was the dev of this game, your gasp of amazed recognition at 58:53 would have paid me in full for my work. Yeah, it was tough. It told you that it would be, in all those notes, and that was true. But what I really liked about this game is that it paid you appropriately for persevering through its difficulties, and in turn you reacted appropriately to the acquisition of the rewards. It wasn't "perfect", maybe, but it was really good. Thanks for playing and sharing, CJU!
Well, that's the most interesting thing that's happened in Tulsa in a while (excluding north Tulsa).
My brother was laughing and making jokes about the character carrying the plate of meat everywhere, saying they formed a bond. He called it Petey the Plate of Meaty. Now he's laughing hysterically at his own joke 🤦🏻♀😂
CJ is a true hero
I wonder if bahgan is a play off bahguul (sinister)
"honey where did you put the alter?"
Oh man I am so sorry for the lost time with every death in that game :'D Thank you for your service. And also for the chuckles
At the very beginning i saw those traps and i was sure that they weren't meant for Chris but the creature 😂😂😂😂😂
It said....For almost a year now, Frank Morris And Jack Thomson have been missing. 👋.
Who else here laughing when Chris went wrong turn into those spikes trap 😂😂
Chris' mapping ability is still top notch 👍👍
Appreciate your effort despite keep repeating from the very beginning ❤
Thank you Chris.
Specifically asking if the screams from an apartment are human. Hmm, well that's a choice of dialogue.
32:07 Ah, the double face-palm of shaaaaaaaaaame 😂
Oh my God, these deaths hurt me too hahaha. I thought it was a standard game, but fun to watch.
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, CJU!
Thanks Chris, you're spoiling us with yet another long video! 💗👍🏼
32 mins. The look on your face. Sorry, but that was funny.
At least you're not running around the same house again for a third day in a row.
I'm impressed by you sticking with this game.
I would've quit after restarting it...
When you died the first time, I felt that devastation. That was a labyrinth for sure.
Thank you for sticking with it.
No Map , No save system, No inventory. Very aggravating.
Except for the no save system or inventory , truly very old school gaming in some ways. No map system. Especially in dnd games , if I remember correctly...some times even with a map system it was easy to get lost and.....have very few to no clues on where to go or what to do next. You had to map out things your self in various games.
I had second-hand stress from that game. No way would I play it. Still would like to know what was behind that door. Poor police officers.
Just settled for tonight and a hour long length is just what I needed 😊 Thanks Chris. Legend as always ❤
The monster's scream is the same as mine when I burst my little toe in the office 🦶💥 ohhhhh
The drumming boy was the best part of this for me 🤭
Always so hyped for a long video upload
At 52:40 & 58:52 your excitement was through the ROOF! Almost like waking up Christmas morning racing to the tree, and know that Santa finally came! 😄🤣
I don't understand the current trend of every indie horror game having VHS effect filters when it's not supposed to be a recording of something.
Ah that’s crazy. I’m from the Tulsa area and never hear it being mentioned. What a wild ride.
Thanks for your patience Chris not something i could finish. Well done.👏
To me, this game feels like a Backrooms game with puzzles. From that perspective, it's not bad at all, although not exactly a chart-topper.
As frustrating as the restarts were, they really did add a lot of panic factor to the game. For example, the monster was easy to evade, but when your only thought is "If I die, I'll have to start over", accidents happen. For example, Chris was right by a chasm, but instead of taking a hit to get past the monster to the safety of the planks, he ran into uncharted territory and got himself killed.
It would be interesting to find out the secret of that marked door and I'm sure a clue as to the order was somewhere waiting to be found.
All in all, I think the backstory was where this game shined best. Sure, you had your typical cult explanation, but the tale of the two cops trapped in the apartment was quite refreshing. Not only were the notes intentionally left, but the idea that you were called in 30 minutes after they entered the building while they experienced potentially several days gave another hellish dimension to the cursed apartment. More interestingly, the idea that they were searching desperately for food and water with one eventually being wounded by their own attempts to trap the monster is a touch that so many games miss. It also makes you wonder why we didn't find their bodies. Were they wrapped and put on shelves like the others? Or did the two cops eventually take their own lives by jumping into the chasm?
Underneath a cool premise and some really good production value, I think the game needs more variation in its gameplay. The monster aught to have several spawn triggers and maybe more behaviors, too many notes that maybe should've been mixed with environmental storytelling and audio logs (but for once well-written notes!), and I can forgive this part to a degree, but samey locations.
The 'hardcore' element is interesting on paper, and I think makes for very tense flight-flee gameplay but, I dunno, maybe I don't like it since it feels tedious and overly punishing; especially so since many components of the 'puzzles' feels completely archaic (like that symbol puzzle). CJU explaining the game being 'artificially' difficult nails my issue with this game. The game is "short" enough, though by the end of the game, I had more than enough.
But I definitely could feel CJU's pain through the recording upon those 2 deaths. Kudos for getting through.
You were getting so red when you loss, lol. Really love you content CJU
Never felt this intense
Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed this one. Chris, as always, made this super entertaining! From the gasp of sheer joy at finding the key in the box to the devastation at having to start over I was totally here for it. At the end chase sequence I was yelling at my tv "noooo not like this" 😂😂😂 I wish we could've found out what those 4 symbols led to, but I still had a great time watching this!
the drumming toy is taken from the movie Caveat where it does the same thing. Decent watch if you're into psychological horror
Great game!! My daughter and I had a few jump scares lol. Thanks for sharing
In the few years I've been watching Chris play horror games I've never heard him gasp in such high pitch 😂 he almost squeaked with excitement at that pieceof the red puzzle thingy
I love how high your voice gets when you get excited about your progress. Lol
The little drummer boy tapping on the drums reminds of the movie Caveat. It starts to drum when around something dangerous.
One of the very few times hearing Chris sound genuinely frustrated with a game!
Love all your videos, but I'm always excited when you post an hour long or more videon😊
Here we go again with exposition being delivered through tons of random notes that make zero sense being left around haha. Find a diary on a corpse or in a desk sure but individual pages being left around and pinned to doors lol? Cheap and cheerful method of doing it I guess but I wish games would STOP it. It's getting very old at this point.
That last gasp was SO satisfying hahaha
Love how excited you got every time you found a new item lol
"*gasp in delight* - It doesn't make any sense, but I love it so." Seeing CJU lose his mind slowly is just such a pleasure! 52:42
It's a tense game and does a good job of creating a disturbing and disorienting atmosphere but it's just way too long winded
The room with the 4 symbols on it contained an Easter egg from the dev detailing his reasons for making this game.
🤫
The highlight of my day right here
I laughed hard , thanks Chris for playing this , poor you .what a good game tho , third play through oh boy. But you won
Nobody mentioned the iconic "yes, maybe, i dont know, can you repeat the question?" at 30:08 for all the younger people(born in the early to mid 2000s) its the intro song to a tv show called Malcolm in The Middle, very popular for us kids/teens back then.
I've never seen you lost before. 😅
That was very cool.
I liked the game 👍
The ending was NOT GOOD ENOUGH for the amount of gameplay wtf 😭
I kinda liked the setting here, and the basic idea. Feels underserved as a standard locker party key hunt game, though. I'd rather see a more fully featured Silent Hill experience out of a game like this. You're already dealing with something like SH4 The Room on steroids, might as well go the whole way. And it's not like the components aren't there in the first place. I loved the drummer toy as a compass, for instance.
You're the king and legend CJU!!! Screw every other horror gamer!!!!
31:45, you had that "safe path" to take cover from the monster, you could have perfectly avoided the spikes trap, i think you panicked Chris :(
talk about stretching limited assets to their max
Wow. Just wow. This was hard on him. It is safe to say we should do this game old school and get the grid paper out. 😂
I can't be the only one who finds the monster's scream hilarious. XD
Thanks for sharing, you're the best! ♥️
I think it was really fun while still being simple and the fact that you still didn't solve it in 100% shows a good idea behind it.
Really enjoyed this game! A real challenge with so much to keep track of and fun to explore the space. Also the stakes of not dying
I confess I gave up on this one after 20 minutes and started fast forwarding through the video. Kudos for restarting this (twice) and pushing through until the end Chris !
Solid effort dude well done!
I am SO loving this game and would go play it myself were it not for the lack of a "save" feature. I gotta say, Lovecraft would be proud. Good show, devs!👏👏👏
This is the best game you have played yet. Love the stealth and the puzzles and the storyline is great. Tons of jumpscares I love ur vids ❤
You’ve been on a roll. You deserve more subs.
This was pretty good! You had me laughing and on edge! I really want to know what was behind the door with the plates? Maybe the cop?
This was soo gripping!!! Love it!
Nice I started playing this yesterday,, Great video MR. CJU
Behind the door with the symbols is just a skull it says you found the secret nothing special doesnt help you in anyway in the game
34:40 still really waiting for the puzzle aspect of the game other than the slide puzzle lol poor cju running around getting chased by a giant ancient skeleton looking dude carrying a plate of flesh 😂
