Hello CJU! Dev of Horror Tales The Beggar here! First, thanks SO much for playing the exclusive Demo. I was super nervous watching you play because I knew this game was not going to be what you expected at all!
Please, add to Steam wishlist even if you don't plan to play and will see CJU's gameplay only. It does helps A LOT!
From your video I can see you loved it so yesss, I am super happy! The Wine was a very classical horror game. This one is the experimental one :)
In the final game of course the conexions with Horror Tales The Wine will be revealed and every question CJU had will be answered too. There is even a post-credits scene in this one. We hope to announce a release date for Steam, Playstation and Xbox super soon. We aimed to publish on April buuut something is delaying us in Playstation.
Oh and yes, if CJU accepts, he will get another present again. Something green probably. What could it be? :)
Big hug. You are an awesome community!
very impressive and i already love it so much, thank you for your service sir!
Not at all what I expected, but a pleasant surprise indeed! Looking forward to this one.
have you played obduction? I got similar vibes from this. looks really cool.
Love what I've seen so far. The game looks like a lot of fun! I am looking forward to the full release.
The Beggar is so intriguing and I can’t wait to see Chris play the full version when it comes out! Thanks for all of your hard work, on this and other games. I think I’m going to go back to CJU’s play through of The Wine again, to see if I can find any connections other than the name of the wine. Usually when a demo is released, it can take up to a year or more before the full game comes out. I know you said you don’t have a release date yet due to delays with the PS5 version, but does that mean we hopefully won’t have to wait as long for the full game?
I'm imagining the robot's motherf*cking overuse of a certain f*cking word is a far future AI trying to speak in what it thinks old-timey English sounds like.
When you use Samuel L Jackson as your source for your language model
The funny thing about this game being connected to The Wine is that I was just rewatching Chris' playthrough of it and I noticed he says he has a big smile on his face in both of them :)
"Oh, man--it's already a mind f*ck!" just about sums this up. Not what I expected at all. I'm looking forward to watching you play the full game, Chris.
Belive me, this is the least mind f*ck part of the game hahaha
oh yes me too, this game is super impressive i need to see more.
@@CarlosCoronadoGameDev Oh, fun! That's good to hear, Carlos. The weirder things get, the better, imo.😆 Thanks for the great games!
@@LuisaM- 😊👍
Same say😅
While the protagonist is surely tripping on the wine, I believe the developers are tripping on acid. Looking forward to the full release.
that hallow green skull is badass! ☠️💀
13:48 "It's nice that they are highlighted" he said, running past a highlighted fuse (sorry for being that person, awesome video as always, and the demo looks very interesting)
I saw him do that too LoL
hahaha saw that too!! Hilarious how our minds work at times!! 😂
Hands down my favorite gamer @CJUGames!!! There's no one else like you! Suuuuuper excited to see the full version of this and even more excited to watch YOU play it!!!!!!!! I'm already very intrigued, I can't wait to see more!
I love demos because you can get a taste of the full game and decide if its for you. But I also hate them because when the game is good its so rough waiting for the full release!
Last time you got a wine bottle as a present, Now what are you expecting, mate? Let's see when the full game drops.
Fingers crossed it's a costume so Chris can cosplay as the Beggar 😂
@@Pippa_McConnell Probably 😄
Hey! It will probably be something glowing green 😊 big hug to everyone specially CJU for playing it! ❤
a beggar? lol hopefully not
@@luneellise21 probably he will get a neon skull. 😄
CJUGames, Subscribed because your videos are so much fun!
That's a game, full of interesting ideas 🙂 can't wait, watching you play the full version
I need to see the full release, plus at least 1-2 more sequels, and a miniseries
I can't promise you that but I can tell you The Beggar will have a sequel called Iron Reich. It will be a Half-Like and will finish the Horror Tales saga :)
Wow, I really liked the lore from The Wine. I'll have to re-watch your play-through of that when the full game comes out.
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, CJU!
Let's go CJU!!!
I loved The Wine and I‘m fascinated by this one. More, please.
Curiousity, Will you be playing Jawbreaker now that it is out :D Also, LOVE the demo you played of this ! :D Thank you for your time an commitment to all these indie horrors! Always Love watching your vids! :D
This one came right in time,i was just bored :D..Thank you :)
Cool I've been waiting impatiently for the next entry in this series
I absolutely love the art in this game! I also love how a lot of the art takes on an almost blacklight effect when you're using your telekinesis glowing light. So cool! I absolutely can't wait for the full version!
I'm going to rewatch the wine waiting for this. My expectations are really high for this one already.
Me too!
MOAR!! I must see more of this game! Please play the full version when it is released.
AYYYYYYY I've been following the dev on Twitter after I saw your playthrough of The Wine. I ADORED The Wine and have been hype to see this played through. Can't wait for the full release and to see you play it!
That bit out under the sun reminds me of Amnesia: Rebirth. Resting in the shadows to not get cooked under the sun.
Oh I didn't knew Amnesia did that! In what area specifically? Asking for gamedev research!
To be honest it happens often in desert maps... there's also a thing like that in one mission in Mass Effect 2 or in Coromon too for example
The devs are definitely doing something special with this game. How creative and mind bending. Eerie, and beautiful . This will be so much fun to see where all this goes. I really hope it ends up being 4 or more hours long. Bravo devs!!
The developer. The game is made by a single person 🤯😄
My bad, then the dev. That is one creative amazing dev 👍🏻
I didn't expect a completely crazy game like this in the same universe of Horror Tales The Wine!! I'm curious to see it complete! I loved!
you know - i hear this similar intro every time and every time I chuckle. you are the funny that never gets old. NEVER CHANGE. :) one more thing: the dialogue in this game is flipping nuts and amazing. it's -- no. words.
example: "Giving it a name helps to shape it when the inevitable confrontation begins in the future." uh, what?
Ohh it's the devs that made that game with all those brightly lit environments that was both beautiful and still scary! (With SOME darker environments too, ofc.) I love their use of lighting, the darker is scarier and red is scary formula in most horror games have gotten quite old. Made the game stand out even after watching so many horror games, and I think I might try this one myself first, I love sci-fi elements! Amazing demo.
All those random F bombs had me rolling. Game looks fantastic, can't wait for full release.
I love how fast you upload games! I'm not always caught up, but I come back and watch a few in a row every couple of days. Even if multiple youtubers that I like have uploaded the same game play, I usually watch yours first because you are so thorough and fun. I love indie horror games, but I dont play them! I only watch them being played, as if it's a scary movie with comedy sprinkled in there.😂
Awww man I am so hyped for this one! I absolutely loved your playthrough of Horror Tales The Wine. (Also the monster in this one is an even better jump scare than the headless guy. That cat scream gets me every time lol)
That looked really neat. The Wine was fun, and I'd love to see you do a full playthrough of this one.
this makes me remember another indie game that had the same puzzle like worlds conected by bridges in a limbo, its nice to see the concept coming back with a twist
Wow, just wow the visuals the game looks amazing, I was left wanting to to see more and I will absolutely be watching your play-through once it posts, Thank you for such a captivating gameplay
This game looks SICK, I love the dilapidated look that is somehow still nice to look at, not rotten and disgusting. Those wolves are too cute, that little bone interaction was very satisfying because I wanted to pet them all. The deliberately messy text is fun, the story seems very creative, I might have to play this myself.
Hi cju thank you for playing 😊
It certainly has some new takes on super powers! From a telekinesis which cannot be separated from light, to changing time by literally spinning the Earth's crust to affect everything else, this is certainly a very refreshing take!
The WolfRoom waaaaaaa 🐺😍🥲
Wallpaper with the skull mooving in background for the computer can be really cool.
The PS5 retail version literally has the glowing skull as real life glowing ink :)
Thank you Thank you . I thought i was going to have to beg.. Thank you.. lol
I'm stoked, I loved the wine!
A pleasant surprise is an understatement. I can't wait to see the full game.
Hey Chris, lets Dive right on in!
That looks awesome
The swearing robot is cool 👌
Please, please, please play this when it is released! It looks like it is going to be a very unique and fun game, and I won't watch anyone else's play-through but yours.
Definitely can't wait for the full version on your channel, that's so damn intriguing 😍
I definitely, absolutely want to see more of this! I'll get back to you as soon as I re-watch your playthrough of The Wine😄. Looking forward to a(nother) good time!😀
Very unique game !!
Looks fascinating. Playthrough please, Chris! 😀
Love this! I would love to see more upon full release.
I love your intros you cheeky bastard!
Drinking age is 8 years old in this one.
Oh I was expecting 'if you want to be a beggar' but you spared us today.
13:49 there must be extra fuses bc there’s one right here bottom left of the screen 😊
The wine was such a WEIRD but anxiety ridden game all I remember is that trench coat hat dude chasing you with crazy music and it was almost painful to watch cuz it was so nerve wracking lol. That floating cussing robot is great.
Silent Hill taught me that if there's a hole, you jump in without question
Omg I'm so excited for the full game!!!! I loved the horror tales the wine and I've been wanting more from the dev so happy to see this!! Thank you for playing cj see you in the full game hopefully soon!!!!!
Wow, a great-looking game, with lots of twists and turns! DEF pick up three full game, if possible!
Horror Tales is back baby!!
Yes, and with a bald bioluminiscent baddie. What else could we want!
This creativity is INSANE I can't wait to get my hands on this!
the music during the night desert sounds relaxing
I can't wait to watch you play the full game.
This was exceptionally cool.. I really want to watch a full playthrough, pretty please with sugar on top. Lol thanks for the entertainment Chris ❤
This looks very promising! I really enjoyed Horror Tales the Wine!
At the very end of that trailer after the demo we see the apparition that was chasing us crawling in fear away from us. I'm already excited about all the chaos and abilities and such this is about to bring.
Edited to add: the graffiti of the man/men drowning in a Red Sea of wine reminded me a lot of Junji Ito’s manga/graphic novels.
Great demo and video, would love to see the full version! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to fuck off and go watch Chris’s playlist of The Wine again.
Great video! And from what I've seen a great upcoming game. I really loved The Wine and can't wait for the full release.
Hello, in our horror game, we tried a genre consisting of real footages with shots of real actors. Would you like to play our game?
😂 how original of you
Absolutely amazing! This game is just so beautiful and weird, I need more! Though those green skull dudes really scared the crap out of me, sheesh!
its like what cyan has been trying to do
I’ve been looking forward to this game by Carlos. I really enjoyed the wine. 👍
That creature looks like a slimy Skeletor, which is not a bad thing. The glowmapped eyes and mouth are pretty cool!
25:54 - They might ask for The Doors "Light My Fire"
I usually avoid a lot of your demo plays as I end up wanting to see more and not wait, impatient bugger I know. Really glad this is out (demo) to get a further look at it, settling in with dinner and a blanket (it's cold here lol).
This was brilliant, it was so perfect, know you will but have to say it, play the whole thing when it's out!!!
PS Chris you are never to hold any position of power, EVER! Besides you are a bit to trigger happy with the red buttons, your Ground Hog Day ideas are scary. I'm not god but a god 😆
This looks amazing so far!! I'm looking forward to seeing you play the full release. 😊👍
Very impressive visuals, cool mechanics, mindfucky story, and I have great memories of Horror Tales : The Wine, so I couldn't be more excited for this one ! Hopefully this will lead to a series on the channel when it's out ^^
Side note : Chris, I confess I miss the time when you mostly played series on the channel, with single videos indie games being sprinkled between series episodes (or between series). I like single videos indie games as much as the next guy, but it's harder to feel as invested in shorter games as in a several episode series. Plus Il'll be honest they tend to all blur together - except for the few gems that stand out every once in a while.
This was by no means a rant, just something I thought of while considering the last series on the channel were Reveil a few weeks ago and... Alan Wake 2, which ended way back at the beginning of December.
I think the new Alone in the Dark is a game Chris would enjoy. 😊 The gameplay is a bit janky but the story is swell!
@@TaramiBedona I was really expecting Chris to play it, even more so since he played the prologue and seemed to enjoy it, plus it was THE big horror game of early 2024 so it seemed like a no-brainer. I've seen several people in the comments (myself included) ask if he was gonna play it, but I didn't see an answer (or if he answered, I missed it).
I'm starting to wonder if Chris made a conscious decision to move away from long-running series to focus on single videos? Maybe he even communicated about this but I missed it, idk.
Yeah I was surprised too he left it alone. Maybe he tried it but didn't liked it anymore ? or then he had some bug, or he lost the footage ? who knows. There's so many kind of games! he may just be annoyed because people keep asking him about a game lol
@@PetitTasdeBoue For sure, there are many perfectly valid reasons like you said. But there are many other games he could have a played instead of AitD (as a series I mean) and he seems to focus instead (almost) exclusively on single video indie games, and that has been going on for a long time now (I noticed that even before Alan Wake 2 tbh).
I think long-running series have an issue with viewership; AW2 started pretty well with 55K views for the first part (slightly better than the average one-off video), but it dwindled to 25K within a few parts, then all the way to 10K by the end. AitD would be a shorter series (the game is only 6-8 hours, rather than almost 20 hours like AW2) but I imagine it'd see similar falloff.
If I were to guess, long-running series don't suit Chris's audience, which is seemingly more interested in low-commitment bedtime distractions than following elaborate narratives. A viewer can't pick up AW2 at part 8. He'd probably have to publish two videos (one of the series, one one-off) those days just to make expected numbers. Maybe doable, but more work.
As he does this for a living now, I suppose there's a stronger financial incentive to stick to the better performing one-offs than there was in the past.
Oh I loved The Wine!! I watched someone else play it but I was in love with the graphics and the story and pretty much all of it!!
This game is so cool! I loved Horror Tales The Wine and I'm really looking forward to exploring this futurist game in that world!!
Please correct me if I'm wrong but if I remember correctly the wine was made out of blood right. So what kind of blood were these guys using? Alien?! That might be the only way to explain the powers, hallucinations, and why it looks post-apocalyptic.
hurmm no, the wine was not made out of blood. Actually, in The Wine it is never explained what caused the wine to go that way. I am super sure in The Beggar we will know the answer. I know it because I am the dev.
Oh wow! I was not expecting the actual dev to answer my comment. Thank you for at least confirming that it wasn't blood. Because I honestly thought that is what the wine was made out of. Can't wait to see what actually happens in this one. ^^
Damn I can't wait for this to come out and for you too play CJU!!! Let's go!!
I really enjoyed your playthrough of the Wine, so please play the full game of this!
IT’S MORVIN TIME
I think I'll need to rewatch The Wine 🤔
Same! I think I wasn't impresssed the 1st time before , but this demo for the sequel has me thinking may be I should watch it again. Looking forward to watching more of the sequel once the game is complete.
I can't wait to watch you play the full game CJU ^^
I loved every minute of it! I can't wait to see and play the full game!
This was so very cool! Looking forward to the full game!
LOOOOOVED IIIT! I cant wait until you play whole game
It looks like the same city as in the wine, but modern apocalyptic setting. If there is a giant mountain in the background, this might well be the same setting.
Can confirm it is not the same city :)
I don't think that city had scyscrapers lol it also basically said multiple places where thrown into a void ? so multiple towns / cities
@@CarlosCoronadoGameDev yeah, you’re right because later on when he was on top of the cliffs in the desert, he was reading a letter that stated they were in n Australia so it isn’t in the Mediterranean.
@@CarlosCoronadoGameDevwhat was the name of the place where the wine took place??
This was a cool one I hope to see the full thing from you one day
Yeeeaaah cju is back again with a banger video, letss gooo
That looks really intriguing! I really hope it will be as good or even better than Wine.
Interesting.. Waiting for your full version video
When am I going to learn my lesson not to drink coffee during games with jumpscares.... Almost spilled it on my keyboard when the last jumpscare occured.
Aha! Another upcoming game from Carlos. Such an imaginative game developer, full of ideas. Like a combo of Bioshock and Half-Life with horror elements and just to continue the present Fallout vibes we get a trip into the Mojave haha. I enjoyed Horror Tales the Wine and this looks very promising as well.
DId you knew the sequel of The Beggar will be a Half-Like? :)
Holy damn this will be better than "The Wine", Let's go CJU!!!!
Where can I unashamedly beg you to play specific games
My gaming days are pretty much over so I'll watch CJU play the full game. Otherwise, I would be definitely buying The Beggar. The Wine was great.
IT'S MORVIN TIME
-The astronaut one isn't next?
-No shot that this dev got Control 2 out before Remedy did. Beating those walking simulator allegations.
-Why is Morvin just Ermac from Mortal Kombat?
-If drinking the Danydebosc wine was what gave Akira, uhh I mean, the albino beggar his powers, the protag from The Wine could have used that in his final fight against Albert.
-Color scheme: Morvin's powers are green (the same harmful energy detailed in the dead guy's note) versus the Beggar's violet (Purple? Indigo?)
-In most games where the protag has telekinesis, I always regret that 1.) they can't pick up the majority of things, especially small objects, 2.) they more often than not cannot lift themselves and 3.) no clear limitations/constraints of the ability are established
(hot take: Jesse Faden from Control passes all of these criteria)
Just waiting for CJU shows us his PC and give a room tour
This is very entertaining and creative
