Don’t Be Afraid 2 is a first person perspective horror game and a sequel to the 2020 game of the same title. Take on the role of David, a young man trying to cope with terrible trauma from his childhood, and dive deep into his fears and nightmares.
Relive the darkest moments of David’s life while exploring the horrific locations, gathering clues about his past and solving puzzles left behind by the deranged murderer toying with his life.
Story
15 years ago, David went through a nightmare.
Kidnapped by a pair of deviant serial murderers and forced to take part in their deadly games, the young boy miraculously survived and escaped what he thought would be his final resting place.
Scars are slow to heal, though. For years, David tried to pick up the pieces and deal with the damage those events left on him. Unable to keep a job, find a partner, or even handle simple daily tasks, he leads a pitiful life under the watchful eye of his therapist.
And despite his desperate attempts, his past might catch up to him sooner than he expected…

What an incredible teaser to be presented with! The first "Don't Be Afraid" was rather horrifying, so the expectations for the second are definitely high. The potential for story is also intriguing.
After all, there's the nurse Ann who's newly introduced and then David's mother who was briefly seen in the first game possibly making a come back. I wonder whatever happened to the clown accomplice and Franklin's daughter that had also been tormented? Hoping that those topics will be explained/explored in the full release.

I'm a big fan of the first. Your playthrough is what convinced me to get it. It's exciting that a new one is on the horizon.
I knew when I saw the "Hello There" it would turn into "Hell Here", which is a reference to Batman Returns (1992) with Christopher Walken, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Keaton. Specifically, after Selina Kyle loses her mind, and transforms into Catwoman.
This developer is insane. I can't wait to see more.

Looking good, look forward to more. Only thing is the subtitles, they are slightly small and in beginning with therapist barely readable due to light background. They need a dark background for it just like later in the game. Strange that the therapist section did not have it. And the mannequins oh boy😮, hello nightmares😂😊

Crazy. The 1st one had one of the darkest endings.. That and the game "Mor" were some of the most brutal endings I've ever seen.

@cjugames. Something about mirrors notice when you went in to the bathroom when first getting there the mirror was covered up. Pay attwntion to everything in this game. I assume one of the theoroists. Is a relative of frank. Or it could bw that david and his blackout could be franks spirit taking over dacids body. These are probably the most likely plots.

In another ending, David has to save his "mother" and when he does, Franklin gives him candy and then he wakes up to his mother comforting him. This ending is open to interpretation because even though it seems like the events of the game was just a nightmare, David's mother is singing the same song Franklin sang and at the end she says, "This wouldn't have happened if you were good". Some people believe that she may have been involved in the kidnapping if it actually happened. We see this implied in the psychiatric report we read in this video at 15:54 where it says David's mother is sometimes a victim or sometimes a perpetrator in David's dreams. Currently, it appears the canon ending is the one where Franklin is killed and David escapes as that is what was mentioned in the newspaper.

Damn. You have a terrible therapist, David. He sounds schizophrenic. I am and everything he was saying and experiencing is spot on. That therapist was sugar coating everything and giving false hope. Also, get off the trazodone. That stuff makes the hallucinations worse. Go to a new center, David 😂

I'm sorry, but all I saw in this teaser, is horror game cliche after horror game cliche.
You know who else uses the threat of violence and egregious bodily harm to stop the playing of music? The taliban. I’m not going to get into the argument about whether or not the coach was in the right to let his band finish their last song before leaving the stadium there isn’t a place in our Democratic world where the threat and then application of violence to prevent a non-violent offense like playing music is an acceptable and proportionate response. He clearly stated this was their last song the police could have let them finish what was probably only another one or two minutes of music and then pulled the Director aside after the fact and explain to him why that was not cool. Would the Birmingham police rather these kids be out on the street and not in a high school football stadium participating in a scholastic program that requires dedication and time and commitment to good grades and teamwork on behalf of the students? For some of these schools, those football games are the only times the band can get together and practice their music in preparation for competitions. I will reiterate my first point, there isn’t a free and Democratic society or collective of people in the world where the threat of physical violence and then the application of said physical violence is a proportionate or appropriate response to what has to be the least violent offense one could think of whereby high school bands students continue to practice their material in preparation for competition in events sanctioned by our public education systems. It blows my mind that some Americans are willing to accept physical violence is an acceptable response to something this harmless. Those Americans would’ve been the same folks that let the Nazis slowly take over Germany and attempt to eliminate an entire subset of the world’s population. These ideas are the seedlings of fascism.
