►About the Game -
You have to play the role of a detective. Conduct an investigation and unravel the sinister mystery, no matter the cost.
Story:
Derek, an experienced detective with a dark past, receives a call from a mysterious applicant to check out a mansion on the outskirts of town. At first it seems like just a routine check, and Derek hopes to quickly sort it out and return home to continue his normal life.
Arriving at the scene, the detective realizes that everything is not going as planned.
However, as Derek begins to investigate, he realizes that the house hides dark secrets that go deeper than he could have ever imagined. The walls of the mansion come alive with their own groans and whispers of the past, and every corner seems permeated with fear and horror.

The cat getting food is best idea. Jumpscares overload indeed. But that booty naked running baby in the end got us laughing hard and the following kaboom😂😂😂. It could have been waayyyyy better. 😅

Ringing the doorbell- strange unsettling sounds come from within- time to call for backup. I lost my phone, too bad my police car doesn't have a way for me to call for backup. Hey, there's my phone on the ground next to my police car. I am inside the house without backup but hey, there is cake! See, if I called for backup I would have to share this cake.

Might be a stock library sound effect. Or they ripped it off. With this game, I have no idea. Competently put together, yet it was still complete and utter bobbins nonsense.

I know this is only a game, but having a police officer leaving on a call without his weapon is utterly, devastatingly stupid. 3 minutes in and the game already lost me.

The developer really just try to throw every Jumpscare trope they could possibly think of. Just surprise there wasn't a man in a sheet that jump out and say BOO!!

This story was indeed rather bizarre. The first part of the story and the second part seem to be barely connected... I guess either the father got used as an "object", or all that was just part of the setup to prep "House" for an "object". Given the ending, this comes across as more of a prologue than a full game.
Yeah, I have to agree with you, Sir ScreenNameTooLongToStruggleThroughARetype. The uh, *bones* of the game are pretty good, I mean the storyline does leave a lot of room for more, maybe even a short series, but they will definitely have to tighten up that gameplay. The current number of jump scares is a bit Beavis and partner, like a couple of young teenage boys making prank phone calls. Still, I enjoyed watching and listening to Chris' reactions, which make the worst of games a must-see and the best of games a joy to behold.

Im gonna make a game with that premise 'its all in my head' but not the stereotypical way instead the detective will be the one whose dead and they think the people living in the house are ghosts moving around their stuff and taunting them.😂

Fionula Flannagan is also in it, and I adore her. Pay close attention when you watch it; I found, on my second go-around a couple of years later, that I had missed a lot of stuff.

21:58 The note thing could easily be depicted through the flashes we keep getting - in this case, a silhouette of the person stuffing belongings in a backpack, looking over their shoulder at a noise.
(Oh, like at 24:22!)
If the flashes were used more sparingly and spaced out more, the notes could be retired or made into more organic pieces of evidence.
There is *something* here, it just needs a bit more trust in the value of the atmosphere and mystery to keep our attention, rather than constant startle responses.
The basement corridor is a good sign, and the surreal parts at the end show some potential?

An unending series of rooms filled with awfulness, jump scares that destroyed the tension buildup, but an ending that left me curious and wanting more. Who is in the Rolls, what are they talking about? Still, my favorite endless rooms filled with confusion and the edge of terror will remain Kane Parsons' "Back Room: Found Footage". That kid manages to do so much with so little - he is the master of tension buildup and the master of sucking you into a minimalist story that keeps you on the edge of your seat for 9 minutes and 14 seconds, nonstop, holding your breath, eyes wide. And only 2 scares; no jumps, just heart-attack level terrifying unreal reality.

you need a minimum of 60 minutes of suspense before the rivers of blood will have any effect. simple math.
For such a short game with no threat of death it had an awful lot of auto saves.
This game though proves yet again why there is truth to me saying, 'never let CJ hold a position of world power', there are red buttons you just don't want him to press!

Well, they have achieved what they wanted. I was confused. Especially by how very linear the game was.

This is way too heavy handed. A scare every 5 seconds or less isn't frightening after a while.

Not "scared" the whole game but games where there were genuine, effective jumpscares: Erobos Heaven (one jumpscare gets him reallllly bad), From the Darkness, Summer of 58', Father's Day. These are just a few games where the jumpscares are genuine. From the Darkness is a well known indie game that got quite a few people, like Summer of 58.
Chris, you should consider playing the game “The Classrooms”. If you haven’t already. May be up your alley. 😊
