Wait... Wait.. Hit on the hand.. Hand.. HAND..? Literally a BRAND new pitcher to the MLB gets ejected in his debut, where his control isn't completely expected due to his skill and probably nerves, he's ejected for missing by maybe 3-4 inches? GJ. GJ
Cursed_Legend that’s not ok for the umpire to ejected the new pitcher the new pitcher is just nervous he didn’t try to hit someone come on MLB is Rigged
As a Yankee fan, I have great respect for the Boston Red Sox. Neither starter intentionally hit anyone. Orioles reliever clearly did it on purpose to Ortiz. But my respect also goes to Remy and Orsillo. Living in Red Sox Nation all my life, those 2 I have admired for so long and they know the game better than anyone. I'm a Yankee fan but I always watched Red Sox games because I loved Remy and Orsillo commentating
Setup inside. Pitch is inside. Gurrero lowers his hands into the pitch. Pause at 0:03, you'll see his hands go right into where the pitch was. Totally unintentional. It even looks to the naked eye like it hits the bat!
What's funny here is the discrepency of Boston announcers vs BMore. BMore announcers were looking for blood, Red Sox announcers actually recognizing the situation...
I'm an Orioles fan, I remember watching this game. The Boston commentators are right though...the pitch that hit Vladdy was clearly just a pitch that got away. You can tell by the pitcher's reaction...he was immediately upset with himself. Now, with that said, there were prior warnings and when the warnings are on, the next time someone gets hit...usually regardless of intent, the pitcher goes and the Manager goes. He COULD have used some discretion, but I feel like you know the warnings are in place, as a pitcher/catcher combo, you need to be a LITTLE more careful with pitch selection.
Im surprised it was even possible for gonzales to miss that fat loaf of meat. Seriously he's like 4 feet wide. I think he purposely missed so ortiz wouldn't come over and lay on him.
At 1:24, the pitcher threw the ball behind the batter and the batter moved out of the way from being hit by a pitched ball at 90+ miles per hour. I think it was on purpose.
To be fair, if Gonzalez actually was trying to hit Ortiz, he would have missed by 3 fe....oh wait...yeah good call. Really gotta find how I ended up 6 years back in a meaningless games highlights.
Listen to the Orioles announcers who don't know enough about baseball to distinguish intentional versus pitching inside. Gonzalez didn't even have the balls to hit Ortiz because he was scared.
JimPollard17 is it bad that when i read that comment i sounded out the aaaa sound for 10 seconds? but congratulations on just topping your previous post.
JimPollard17 It's funny how little you know about baseball to not be able to distinguish the difference between somebody moving out of the way of a pitch and it being wild even though it CLEARLY showed him moving out of the way in SLOW MOTION.
Avial It's funny how little you know about baseball to not be able to distinguish the difference between somebody moving out of the way of a pitch and it being wild even though it CLEARLY showed Gonzalez missing Ortiz by a mile in SLOW MOTION.
But the season isn't over yet, Andrew. One can never tell what September brings. We've all seen teams folding in the 2nd half of the season in the past.
Francona was the 4th person ejected. He was tossed when Wyland was thrown out. Any time pitchers are warned and get ejected, the coach is automatically thrown out as well.
Once warnings go out the next guy who hits a batter gets tossed. That's the point of a warning. Whining about it being an accident is pointless, blame the coach for putting a wild pitcher out there if you want to blame someone... .
Buck Showalter is a joke, I doubt the first 2 were intentional but the 3rd one is absolutely intentional. The ball was way behind him at a time where there was no danger with 2 outs and nobody on. Then Showalter cries any time somebody throws anywhere near his batters. Pathetic hypocrite
Imagine if you made your MLB debut and your family is in attendance and you accidentally hit a batter and get ejected from a game,I can imagine what was going through Weiland's mind then. J Phoenix I do agree with you on this. Umps are just being stupid just to get attention.
Well, right now they're not, that's for sure. I'm not so much an O's fan as I am a baseball fan all together. The O's haven't been in the post season for some time now, and I was hoping for a strong finish out of this talented team. Oh well ...
Because that's what the fans watching want to hear. For example the Red Sox commentators aren't going to say: "Oh and Kevin Youkilis deserved to be hit big time. He just needed to be hit by a 95 mph fastball" Doesn't work like that.
okay i get it, you are o's fan. that doesnt mean every other team is scared of them. They are having a good season, but they are in 3rd place. they arent slappin anyone around.
I really don't understand why the Manager also gets ejected if his teams pitcher plunks someone after a warning, even if it was accidental. What is the logic behind that? Does the Umpire think the Manager actually told his pitcher to plunk the batter or something?
That's not a crappy ump that's a horrible pitcher clearly in the first clip he threw the same pitch both hitting the batter if u can't make the pitch don't throw it. He knew from the first time he couldn't do that pitch so why would he do it a second time ya a change up is good to throw but you have to know if you will be able to make a good change up. First time Accident second time intentional
That's what you call bullshit right there Kyle Weiland was making debut he was a little wild and had trouble controlling his pitches. Plus, to be affective they need to mix up pitches so he had to throw the same pitch twice.
come the fuck on, ump. it's the pitcher's major league debut, his team is up 1 run, he's got no outs, and the tying run in scoring position. why would he intentionally hit the batter?
Miguel Gonzalez deserved it, I mean Riley for the Red Sox hit '2 batters' so Gonzalez tried to hit Ortiz but he missed. It was clear that he was trying to hit him on the back. And you see that the Orioles' manager and Gonzalez didn't argue so they all planned it.
In the MLB after warning have been issued if the umpire thinks that the pitcher is throwing at the batter he is obligated to throw the manager out as well. I think it has to do with the idea that the manager told the pitcher to do it.
The first 2 were obviously unintentional. The boston kid even was upset when he hit him if you watch his reaction

unfountrly pretty sure mlb gave them strin waring about the history both teams. and no it wasn't right but they are going by wha they believe
That pitcher looked no older than like 22 and the ump thought he intentionally hit him in a one run game lmfao what a joke

During this era, statistics show that the Red Sox were always at or near the top of the majors in hitting opposing batters.
@@arthursmith6854 sounds about right
2:17 Ejected - Vertical filming

There would have been more ejection if Greg Gibson was the home plate umpire.
B St-Denis He would've been motioning to both players! lol
ChronosJG The Dodgers would've probably been celebrating in their dugout.
And there's wizards from the future!
+B St-Denis I think these are all signs that we watch baseball highlights too much...
The baseball memes are alive

the batter threw his hands into the ball. it shouldn't have been an HBP. little kid stuff Vlady pulled
Jack Angermeier Eh, I can see a little motion, but I don't think he took the pitch, and more than the pitcher threw at him intentionally either.
Im surprised it was even possible for gonzales to miss that fat loaf of meat. Seriously he's like 4 feet wide. I think he purposely missed so ortiz wouldn't come over and lay on him.
1:21 If your gonna get ejected actually "HIT HIM". LOL
ikr xD
At 1:24, the pitcher threw the ball behind the batter and the batter moved out of the way from being hit by a pitched ball at 90+ miles per hour. I think it was on purpose.
I appreciate the umpire. He was preventing a stupid brawl.
I love ejection videos. This one is my favorite. Because of all the ejections.
LOL at Buck's face "You had one job, one job, just hit him!"
Getting to listen to the delusional MASN announcers is the best part.
The color commentator for MASN in this video was Mike Flanagan. He committed suicide a month later.
I like rooting for the underdog teams, too. I wished Cleveland would make it back to the WS. Seems that we see the same teams too often.
Im a yankee fan but that was a real cheap shot by gonzalez the other two werent on purpose

thats just a stupid statement if i've ever seen one. gonzalez wasnt afraid to hit him, ortiz just managed to get his fat ass out of the way some how

the umpire can eject people without warnings though
I hate to say it but the Os got the last laugh at the end of the year
last laugh? for this game? neither of them were intentional
JRB_03
You can't read apparently
@@KHayes666 neither of them were intentional though
One can always tell when a pitcher is wild. His teammates yell to the batter Duck He's Throwing it Again & the on deck hits the ground too.
Lol it always tickles me when umps eject ppl. Do they really have to do that lil leg kick?
lol
Plate Umpire was Marty Foster. He usually does that when he ejects someone.
But the season isn't over yet, Andrew. One can never tell what September brings. We've all seen teams folding in the 2nd half of the season in the past.
This was a wild series.
Francona was the 4th person ejected. He was tossed when Wyland was thrown out. Any time pitchers are warned and get ejected, the coach is automatically thrown out as well.
Remy is right to say the umpires need a better feel for the game
they are a pretty good team thats for sure
This was a suggested video on the side of a Game of Thrones vid. I love CZcams and CZcams loves me...
well, i am just wondering if 2nd base would be enough to make a getaway...
isnt there somthing shorter to type to get your computer hacked?
The umpire behind home plate was (#60/Marty Foster)

Yeah, that would be Jerry Remy. Welcome to the sport.
Are you talking about the Orioles pitcher? Because if you are, it was a good call to throw him out. He tried to hit Ortiz on purpose.
Props to Ortiz for keeping his cool
WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU THROW AT A BATTER IN A CLOSE GAME!!!!! SMH
they wouldnt.
+adam s its olny the fifth
It's not the pitcher's fault. One you'd throw right down the middle, and the next it could be like 1:23!
If the warnings were issued, the rule says that the umpire can eject the pitcher.
Actually some pitchers dont like throwing at guys, so they throw behind/over/in front just to send the same message as hitting them.
You Rock. stitch strange What's your opinion about this, guys 11
XxBoss You should be :) The Orioles have owned the Red Sox since he time they knocked them out of the postseason. And our schedule is actually though.
why?
Maybe for now, but who knows what will happen by September. And the Red Sox have a history of fizzling-out late in the season.
"Ejections fell like rain in Boston..."
No! This is the Internet! You never say that!
i know right
What It Did Not Come Close To The Face!?

he didn't want to intentionally walk him, he was just pitching him inside!
managers get ejected automatically when there are warnings out? never heard of that before
ya never heard of this either..i thought when the pitcher gets ejected that means automatic for manager
Only if they come out and argue and get their moneys worth.

Name another sport where a coach wears a uniform
ump shows up the rookie pitcher wow just wow
That umpire just became stupid with power

3rd in the east. We're so scared. Go Sox.
the second one made sense but the first one, that was the umps fault he just threw a wild pitch
I dunno, the way he's been running this year he'd still probably catch you.
Umpires brought a lot of this on.
oh yeah he sure didn't try to nail him with a fastball in the hand.... again!!
1:21?
Why on earth would someone throw at Vladimir Guererro?
Ump probably thought he missed a pitch to the back. After a few hit batters almost anything can look intentional.
Rex Sox?
1:24 yay
Er, got any Crow left-overs? I think I'll be eating a lot of Crow now.
looked to me like he said something after he hit vlad. there was a bit of a gap in between.
i play baseball and he went fr him everytime
When David Ortiz was batting, the baseball didn't hit David Ortiz. The baseball went behind his back
Yeah there was Weiland and Franconia and when he threw behind Ortiz he and Showalter ..so that's your 4
you're right. I was being stupid. i apologize.
When the Os were bad ... Few glad we got better
To the Boston Color guy....Go move your Caaaa!!!......lol
Those are some crabby umps...
On the pitch to Ortiz,Juuuuust a bit inside.
Orioles made it last year but didnt get to far deep. Redsox fear No one. Escpecally a 3rd place team. Thank you. :))
dont worry, he won't catch you, unless you have food of course
that's two
You're all wrong there were five ejections. Three pitchers and two coaches. Mwahaha... Lol
come the fuck on, ump. it's the pitcher's major league debut, his team is up 1 run, he's got no outs, and the tying run in scoring position. why would he intentionally hit the batter?
These NESN announcers are absolutely ridiculous. Side note. Big Papi gets back by destroying Orioles dugout phone.
no pitcher in their right mind would intentionally hit a future hall of famer in their major league debut. wow that was bullshit.
1:07 just a little outside... on the other side of him.
me and u the same thing, putting trolls in their place
am i correct that they didnt score with the bases loaded with no outs? after he hit vlad, come on now.
Miguel Gonzalez deserved it, I mean Riley for the Red Sox hit '2 batters' so Gonzalez tried to hit Ortiz but he missed. It was clear that he was trying to hit him on the back.

its mike gonzalez. enough said. that clown couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat
that's all the warnings do, is give umpire unnecessary power to eject people
Different story for the David Ortiz part....
haha he couldn't even hit him when he tried.
Dont think he'll catchup
gonzalez threw at him, the boston pitcher...no.
