HP Umps have been really good this year. Umpscorecards has data on calls in the last 7 years, and in that time there has never been a perfectly called game. Though there have been 17 games where only one pitch was called incorrectly. 3 of those have been this year with 2 happening on the same day. In contrast, the worst called game this year was by Gabe Morales, but that was only the 272nd worst game.

It was a strike why get upset? He swings at 2 balls and watches the strike. And protecting one o their best players? I mean time will tell but Story is almost JBJ like so far this season. .196 Avg. no homers and only 10 rbi's. He might turn it around but this is the risk of signing Colorado players who play half their games in Colorado's thin air. Also speaking of JBJ, really could use Hunter this year at least he has power. Dumb trade, and I like JBJ.

Fwiw, I think he get the call right. It's on the edge of the zone, and that's what makes it a great pitch.

Kulpa get the heck out of there. Torres wasn’t being physically attacked or outnumbered. He didn’t even get to him and you already rushing in there. If he was brave enough to throw Cora out without leaving dugout he can handle the argument. This makes umpires look bad and when they have to have someone bail them out all the time and go 2 on 1 with manager. We are supposed to base our mechanics on perception but the way ejections are handled now are terrible. When managers and umpire would argue 1 on 1 back in the day, baseball was the top sport in America and umpires didn’t get nearly as much hate as they do now.
