Ejections are the best way to determine how good or bad umpires are in my opinion. Each and every one of them is going to make terrible calls at some point, it’s just too hard to rank them by accuracy.
The good umpires are the ones who only reserve ejections for when either a player’s temper is very hot (self-explanatory), when a play commits an unsportsmanlike conduct (like a pitcher retaliating with a HBP after allowing a home run), or when tensions are heightened (like ejecting a pitcher for hitting someone with a fastball after warnings were issued).
The terrible umpires eject players when there’s no tension in-game (the first clip) or when the ejected player has no temper (second and third clip)

I have said before, these umps get a real tough guy look when they throw an ejection. Its like they think they accomplished a great feat of strength and physical prowess.
If MLB reviewed ejections, no doubt they would find every single one justified, based on what "might have" been said. So there would never be a fine or suspension. We need to make umps reluctant, and the only way I see absent MLB assessing discipline is to make the ump stay after the game to write out a detailed report, longhand, of the entire incident. Alone. No help from anybody. Maybe one or two will stop and think "is it worth the paperwork?"
Its not much, but I don't see MLB doing anything punitive.
I contacted MLB about umpire behavior being unprofessional some 25 years ago. I got an actual dead-tree response supposedly signed by the Commissioner himself, promising he was forming a committee on just that problem. You can tell what thst promise was worth. Of course it was just a form letter, one of dozens of templates MLB used. Some minimum wage staffer just takes one off the appropriate stack for the complaint and stuffs it into an envelope. First one: Catcher should've went too -- more of a cause to toss him than the pitcher.
Second one: That was a Fuck You -- and when the catcher called him on it (in whatever form he actually did), gone.
Third one: Only problem I have with this one is toss him to his face. It's clear Balkin' Bob wanted to do it, so just do it and be done with it.
Fourth one: Joe West should've thrown Buehrle after the first balk, because it was clear he was gonna get on him til he tossed him.
Fifth one: That's the "mound visit to argue balls and strikes". To me, that should be the pitcher gone too, as an administrative point.
Sixth one: He literally pointed right where that pitch was -- you point, you gone. That simple, same as for batters!
Seventh one: This is why Bryce Harper ain't. worth. shit. Serious intensity problem and umpire problem.
Eighth one: Same kind of play with Harper.
Last one: Arguing balls and strikes.
Nice video. Maybe TWO of them qualified?

Really simple way to silence a lot of the criticism of umpires being able to power trip and not be held to account is making ALL punishments for umpires public. Of course, the glorious workers union will not allow that, and it would bring to light the fact they're not doing a damn thing to punish these guys that fuck up.
All of them need to be Mic'd, there needs to be a review of every ejection by off sight personnel, and continuous overturning of the ejections need to be grounds for termination.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't think the A.J. Burnett ejection was entirely unjustified. The context was that Burnett had been unhappy with a previous call near the same area, and was basically saying "oh, so you wanna call that one a ball when the last one was a strike?" Showing up the umpire like that is likely to get you ejected, it's just not a wise thing to do. I think the umpire's reaction was a bit extreme, but I also think he had the right to throw Burnett out.
