Guyanese Sponge Cake Recipe

In this video you will learn how to make sponge cake. Sponge cake is a delicious, buttery, soft dessert that can be enjoyed on different occasions. My family bakes sponge cake on special holidays, especially for Christmas.
Ingredients:
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups Butter
2 TBSP Baking Powder
1 1/2 TSP Essence
1 TSP Nutmeg (Freshly Grated)
12 Eggs (Medium Sized)
Baking temperature: 350°
You will need two nonstick baking pans. I used two 9 inch round springform baking pans. You also need pam spray and flour to coat the baking pans.

My only advice for your cake not to fall is, don’t open the oven too much especially when the cake is starting to rise, because the cake need to maintain the same heat so it can keep on rising, and opening the oven will reduce the heat and that will make it fall, But I’m sure you will love this recipe and the outcome.
