- Today you are coming with me to an abandoned man, that was home to a mysterious and talented designer whose creations captured the hearts of many. His success in the world of design was unparalleled.
Known for his unconventional style. the designer was a true eccentric, always pushing the boundaries of traditional norms. His bold choices and daring innovations set him apart from his peers, earning him a reputation as a true visionary in the industry.
Seeking solace from the chaos of his glamorous life, the man made a radical decision to retreat to a secluded wooden mansion deep within the heart of a dense forest. Surrounded by the serenity of nature, he found a sense of peace and inspiration that had long eluded him in the bustling cities.
One fateful day, his solitude was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of his long-lost best friend, a companion of his youth with whom he had shared countless adventures. Reunited after years of separation, they embarked on a whirlwind journey that took them to the far reaches of the world.
Together, they braved the scorching sands of the Sahara Desert, the icy heights of Mount Everest's base camp at 20,000 feet, and the vibrant landscapes of Indonesia. Each new experience deepened their bond and fueled their creative spirits, inspiring them to new heights of artistic expression.
Tragedy struck when his best friend met with a sudden and untimely demise in the kitchen of their woodland retreat, leaving the man shattered and grief-stricken. Holding his friend in his arms, he felt the weight of loss and sorrow that would linger in his heart for years to come.
A true artist in every sense, the man poured his emotions into his work, creating breathtaking paintings, exquisite clothes, intricate rugs, and other masterpieces that reflected his inner turmoil and profound experiences.
In 2019, without warning or explanation, the man vanished from the public eye, leaving behind a grand mansion filled with his creations and memories. The once-bustling estate now stands abandoned, a silent testament to the incredible figure who had once inhabited its halls.
Rumors swirled about his whereabouts and fate, but the truth remained a mystery to all. Some speculated that he had embarked on a new chapter of his life, while others believed he sought refuge in a distant land, far from prying eyes.
As time passed, the legend of the enigmatic designer endured, a reminder of his extraordinary talent, his insatiable thirst for adventure, and the enduring legacy of his artistic genius.

I found the man who owns this mansion. He is not dead, and posted on his personal blog as of April 2024. He travelled overseas in 2017, 2018, and again in 2020 to Burmese. It’s unknown if that’s still where he is at. I imagine he doesn’t return to this home simply for the memories. He doesn’t seem to handle grief well and considering he buried his partner by hand on this very property, I can see why he doesn’t wish to return. He is, if he hasn’t passed since April, 92 years old. His partner and him fell on financial hardships too well before the demise and departure which explained the houses state. Fun fact, this man bought this house from a business man who earlier committed suicide. Beautiful pieces inside which I wish could be preserved though.
Definitely haunted property. Very cool place indeed.
What is his name? Or how did you find him?
Caitybug can you please tell us his name or the name of the blog ?
I was thinking yes he could be as young as late 70s to early 90s .
For some reason I thought he would be up around the Himalayas or in Nepal .
I wasn't too too too far off .
Wonder what he's doing in Burma ... yes it is a very Buddhist country but last I heard they still had Civil War . Gems come from Burma .
I wonder if he's visiting an old friend ... or is there studying and meditating under a special Buddhist teacher .
My second thought is he would be on a beautiful island somewhere .
It's very sad about him losing his partner .
Please can you tell us the name of his blog .
I hope he still alive. He need to get back to his beatiful house and give all his precious lovely arts items to the museum or art gallery. He also kept some spiritual sacred stuff like the Barongs and (seems antique) stones crosses. I am from Indonesia so I recognised some of those sacred and art stuff from Bali island inside the house. He is an amazing man. Too bad he left everything owned by him behind - just like that... If I were him I will give it to the local government to make it as a must visit art gallery! I wish he is well and happy wherever he is now...

There are too many ignorant comments left to mention from people who should just say nothing at all. If you don't like it don't watch it. It is very easy to sit and criticize something you don't do yourself. This CZcamsr is trying to give you a glimpse into an abandoned mansion you otherwise would have known nothing about. Bankz gives you enough info to do your own research if you want to know more. If you don't like his comments you can watch it with no sound. Be respectful of his efforts to bring you this video in the first place.
@bigbankz actually blurred what others forgot to blur... As the magazine cover in the living room.....

Hey oh tall one you are respectful of persons and properties. I stopped watching others who were not. Sometimes I hear my mind screaming please save that but your calm respectful way is the best⚓️💕
I think he does an EXCELLENT job and I find this kind of exploration fascinating! I agree with you...each of these adventures into an abandoned space makes me imagine people moving about and living life in there! If the walls could talk, what a story they could tell!
@Annie497 Oh, annie, you don't respect anything. You have stated several places in the comments, how this man's art is not art. That it's basically trash, and it wouldn't belong in a museum. Because you said so. 😂 You're a wicked little imp.
Swamp hotdogs? I have always referred to them as cattails.
Same
And yea, most parts of a cattail plant, are edible.
You've been calling it the wrong name 😭😭😭😭
I’m so happy to see that his mansion hasn’t been vandalized.
It will be now. Every time an urb-exer shows the outside of an abandoned house, vandals trash it within a month.

Cant they go through archive pasenger list of flights at the time of his dissapearance feel he may have returned to Asia to find inner peace _^ no family members left to inherit house amd contents? If not a museum should be created in his memory
Someone should empty that house and categorize and preserve those pieces in a museum.
Absolutely!
I agree, this should be preserved. I’m curious to learn more about him, because he seems so mysterious. It’s fascinating to see all of the contents in this house. The property should be protected.
Queen believe it or not he probably doesn't even care about the things in that house anymore . But he does have a Blog and nobody will tell us the name of the blog .
Since I'm a Tibetan Buddhist I would have loved to have asked him questions about his travels to the Buddhist countries especially in the earlier years when he was there ... no doubt .
I also wanted to ask him about his Buddhist teachers but I will never get the opportunity because people who do know the name of his blog or his name will not share it with us .
I think this a bit odd since his blog probably means much more to him than his material possessions and he obviously wanted to share his mind with the world and yet some of us are being blocked from communicating with him and reading what he has written and I think that is such a shame .
I'm sure it's some point I will find his blog and then let know that some people feel he needs to be
' protected ' and wouldn't share the name of his blog .
... I know what he will say as a Buddhist
.. he will probably say there is nothing to protect ... and they usually say that with a laugh 😂.
Some of his pieces are in a few museums.
And it is all going to mold and rot? Was the designer so selfish not to will it to someone or a charity? Why doesn't an Art Organization look into purchasing the property from the State so that they could save some of this?
Someone, please, save that stuff, it’s incredible! It does need a local historian, or art historian, to go through and catalog and preserve what they can. Great video.
Only if the owner makes that choice
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.. DAM SHAME IF IT IS ALL LOST TO TIME.

No way! That's amazing- is the story as people are telling it true? What can you tell us? We heard he used to throw crazy parties. How so was he able to keep his business running in wherever this is in a small place or did he leave everything and go there to create? I'm just very curious? This is his intentional & final work of art .A tribute to his Lover, Love & Life. It should be up to him as to what's to become of it ,be it to crumble & fall. It feels like a lot of medicine sessions happened here!!!Tibetan flag. His Sacred Alter!!!! His Shrine Room I Ching Divination coins. He was a artist. Made beautiful paintings. So very sad some of his artwork is in that house decaying. It should be in a gallery. ❤ Love your channel.
It's not great art. Very amateur, actually.
This place was unreal beyond words the artwork he made.should be saved. Thank you for sharing
Once black mold is present, everything is unfortunately trash. That’s probably why he left everything.
You can kill black mold
He has a lot of work museum's and collection's around the world. Mainly fabric work.
Who is the designer?
Someone needs to catalog and preserve all these precious and interesting artifacts. It would be terrible to let mold and time destroy everything.
Fascinating explore.
I second that recommendation
After he passes away I imagine the house, artwork, rugs will go into his estate. I wonder if his "next of kin" knows what's going on.
It's a shame that all that beautiful artwork will not be seen by others. He is an amazing person and artist. Beautiful! beautiful! Artwork, history, and culture. He traveled the world and created his own artwork inspired by his travels, very opened minded person. Dolores
I thought I heard the guy say the owner had no next of kin. Regardless of one opinion or the other, this house and it's contents should NOT be left to rot. I make guitars. I would love some of that old aged wood to make some instruments. I wonder how the owner would feel about that?
This stuff is worth thousands if not millions , what a waste sitting there rotting. They should be shared with the world. ❤❤

Now that's a contradiction. Saying the house is insane, requires you to make assumptions about the artist and his mental stability. I would call that "getting into an artist's head", and making an unprofessional, unsolicited judgemental pseudodiagnosis.
I’m excited and hopeful that he is in fact still around, and he keeps his word on his showings in Singapore and Paris. He didn’t fit the norm, or society’s norm that is, and did everything his own way, unapologetically. A true artist.

He maybe doesn't want to be reminded of that time. He obviously has enough money to live off. Great video. Artistic people are not like your average person. They are in their own world. Always learning. Always creating. Their eyes see things most people overlook. The instrument in the prayer room with the long neck with the giant bowl on the end is a sitar. I believe George Harrison learned to play one.

Crazy BEAUTIFUL !! Pining over the art. Someone should definitely contact a gallery to get that out of there. Don't want them to mold up like his wool yarn and loom. Absolutely Stunning. Thank-You.
What makes old, moldy wool or an old loom valuable? What makes this art museum worthy? Think about the type of art acquired in museums. There are MANY talented artists in the world, but very few ever make it into a museum. I appreciate the uniqueness of the items in this house, but I am beginning to think very few understand what museums are all about.
@@Annie497He or she said a gallery and not a museum. There is a very big difference between the two. Perhaps you should fully read a comment before you make your remark. Additionally, the writer doesn't intend the moldy wool and loom for the gallery. The comment is a desire to conserve the art so it doesn't become moldy like these previously mentioned objects. Like the art of listening, it really helps if you take the time to fully read and comprehend what this writer is expressing before you prematurely shoot your load!

I theorize that the reason there are so many chandeliers in this mansion is because electricity wasn't really commonplace in homes until the 1920s. Essentially, it was added later and it would have been WAY too much work to run lines in the walls.
Most people who say “omg these should be saved” doesn’t realize the reason they were never tore down. Not just mansions but any house before 1978. They are full of lead and asbestos. Takes millions and hazmat crews safely take these down and not worth saving and making cities and towns sick. The sad part is by time they were abandoned, they were fully beyond repair at that point.

To leave such treasures and art to just turn to ruin is heart wrenching. Perfectly understandable that the memories keep him from returning. But he must have people in his life who would help him preserve what is left there. Here’s hoping that comes to fruition.
Excellent explore, my gosh I’ve never seen anything remotely like this. Awesome. Thank you for sharing this shrine with us. Take care, until next time ♥️🇨🇦
Its incredible what people leave behind. His pain must've been great. They were definitely eccentric. You can tell they had financial problems in recent years. Praying for him. Hope all these items find their way to a museums.
Cheers to the Queen who lived in this house, there’s plenty of proof he was fabulous. I wish we could have seen all those stacked canvases in the attic! He had a wonderful choice in colors. You don’t have to blur art sir, we can handle it.
😂😉
I agree but I believe CZcams requires the “blurring”
Thank you for putting verses on your channel!!!
I like the scriptures as well! The main reason I follow Big Bankz ❤
Wow, LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this house! And the art.. Wow!! THANK you for the fantastic tour!! ❤
,hes like a hoarder but in a good way...so artistically kind of person...as an asian myself i can tell he is really have huge interest of asian culture and religion and beliefs and everything...i love this mansion tour the history is rich and so mesmerizing
I bet that place was a nightmare to dust! Also, crazy he had his own loom in the house.
I believe The long item you wanted to know what it is. I think it's called a Chinese, Marching Parade Dragon. Usually, multiple people are underneath it due to its length.
The dragon used to be in the foyer when you first walked in
Thanks big banks❤ This was very interesting and sad as well. Looking so forward where your heading next , but safe travels and hope to see ya soon. Love ya Cindy
I personally thank you soooo much for sharing this gold mine of a mansion with us!!! It's absolutely astonishing what's left behind here!!!:❤😊
The little room off the kitchen with all the dishes is called a butler’s pantry. We had one in our house when I was young.
If only his family could preserve and catalogue all of his works.
He likely doesn't have family. A comment above said he is in his 90s. It sounds like he was gay and likely doesn't have children.
The Mercedes looks like something from the 50's. Fascinating tour and video. Thank you.
Absolutely incredible, thank you for the journey - this one was so, so special.
Watching this has caused me to become very emotional and cry. Why would this effect me so? He was a very handsome man I might add. I'm surprised squatters are not living there!
It's out in the middle of nowhere. There's no resources. Squatters tend to occupy vacant or abandoned buildings in an urban environment where there's access to resources, work, food, and in some cases drugs and alcohol.
Beautiful room. Love the harps
This is my favorite of all the places you have explored! However, I loved your European ventures. I love that you are doing this! I work from home and do not really have funds to travel. You take me away from my desk, my home and I can "arm chair travel" with you! Thank you! God Bless!
I love your videos!!! I binge watch every Sunday evening. Your voice is so calm and relaxing. Thank you and your crew for your urban exploring. 💯🎥📸🏠
So very neat
A great pity that this house has been left to the nature and abandond. Old houses have emotional, and sentimental value.❤
And regrettably the neighbors want it torn down as soon as possible
@@gardensofthegods Perhaps a goed idea to renovate this huis voor the homeless. Homeless could help in making it a better place to live. 💪
What a wonderful time capsule. Sad back story to this home. Thank you for third real Gem . Love and blessing Wendy London Uk 🇬🇧 🩵🤍
There is something deeply moving, somber even, almost depressing about how this was all left. So many many personal treasures are placed lovingly, with such thought and care all around this home. In every inch, there is either space purposefully left or something taking up space with purpose. Each undoubtedly has its own story. Its own memory. This place clearly was bursting at the seams with love, life and energy at one point.
And yet, it was all left where it stood. I understand there may even be the remains of a deeply loved individual buried on this very property? All left behind with the items, the home, and the land. For natural and time to take over, take its toll and change what once was, at will.
Its really quite poetic in its own right...to put so much of one's time and energy into making such a glorious mansion a home. One that was truly LIVED in, and enjoyed. Only to walk away from it, for one reason or another. Maybe many reasons. Also its interesting how even with all of it and its belongings serving purpose in one way or another at one point in time, its also unfinished in many ways. Possibly unfinished on purpose of course. Exposed brick. Unsealed vaulted ceilings. Exposed beams and many other details lived in undone. Paired with such refinery of decor. How this home, how its ended up and how the story of the intriguing wildly interesting man who owned and lived here, and even his partner, all ended up. Once larger than life. Living life to the fullest. So much work put in. So much of ones self. And then..poof. Its no more. Seizing to exist in anyway other than the memories he took with him of this place, his partner and the times spent, had and celebrated and mourned here.
Its funny if you think about it...Art really does imitate life. Especially when someone is an artist at heart, much like this man is. His life while here was living breathing art in motion. I think this quote by Howard Barker helps to summarize my interpretation of the choices this designer made and his story surrounding this home etc. ; "Tragedy is the greatest art form of all. It gives us the courage to continue with our life by exposing us to the pain of life. It is unsentimental, it takes us seriously as human beings, it is not condescending. Paradoxically, by seeing pain we are made greater, it becomes a need."
I believe that area you were unsure about is probably a butler's pantry. Not that he had or did not have a butler, but... that's generally what that is called -- with all the storage of dishes, sets, urns, serving pieces, etc. I THINK.
This is so amazing I have seen a lot of abandoned mansions Aretha Franklin
I would love to have some of his art hanging on my walls. He was a tortured soul as you can see in his paintings. They are so expressive and beautiful. Wherever he is, I hope he finds the peace he is searching for. 🙏🏻
Absolutely stunning and colorful house! I will remember this house! What a super find! Thanks!
