Yes, that door opening is kind of weird. I did not see it the first time, and had to rewatch it a couple of times to see it happen. Yes, that does open, I would agree with one of the other comments, that is i being a welcome. Or it is a message to look into behind the door for a clue on something that had happened. I would have opened the small bag in there to just see if it was a message.

The Jennair stove is the very stove that was in our house we moved into in 1994, house was built in 1956. And the glass blocks, we have several of them that were under our crawlspace and some are outside. Apparently they were either not used here at all and something else was used in their place. Will never know.

The piano is a square grand and from some I have seen before, it more than likely was with the house when it was built. The fireplace in the Living room has cast iron place cover is also original as is the cover in the large bedroom fireplce on the main floor. In response to your question about the power being on.....more and likely it was an estate being handled by an estate attorney. Some elderly person related to a wealthy owner ergo the taxes and utilities. Once the house was vacant possiabily the place was put up for rent and if a renter had failed to pay and skipped out........there you go all this trash and old cheap furniture. Maybe the re Ted was subletting the place....like a flop house.....more beds more cash. Bet if you ask around older residents they will tell you.
