I'm gonna say something controversial...I miss when Joan Rivers did the fashion police. I am 100% convinced that celebrities actually tried because they didn't want her to insult them.

Gosh I miss the days of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. When the clothes were stunning then and now. These asymmetrical looks look like someone didn't know how to sew or draw a straight line to me. There's nothing wrong with style and panache. But that lime green number... that was horrific. And the pink stringy crooked thing... she looks like she put it on wrong. This is not fashion. To me, this is people trying to be edgy but being too lazy to pull that off. That or imagination really is a thing of the past.

I find it grotesquely hypocritical today that tarot card readers on utube have to clothe their naked angels on their cards & the real females are practically walking around naked.

I just don't get it. Do these young ladies think they have dozens of more opportunities to grace the carpet in the future? ,so they don't wear anything to remember in a positive manner for decades to come? . Opportunities are limited for such events ladies...wear the best you can get your hands on, not the worst 😢
One question, one comment. Why do actresses think they need to be naked when going out? Remember the story ‘ The Emperors New Clothes’. Are they just seeking attention. They should be embarrassed! Also can you play like long ago paper dolls? That is take a ‘fail’ and when you suggest what was wrong, can you fix it by overlaying correct or improved items to show us what you can do. Wow. Only one or two ensembles that I would call beautiful or glamorous. More examples of thinking that pantyhose suffice as pants. 😐 And more examples of women “of a certain age” (i.e. Heidi Klum, Carmen Electra etc.) clinging to risqué and skin-baring looks. I AM a woman of said age group, and I’m fully in favor of including fun and whimsy in our outfits. But doing so while still acknowledging where we’re at in life is apparently a skill lacking in Hollywood. Again, your analysis is on-point. 👏🏼👏🏼

Billie Eilish has drawn some funny comparisons already, but my first thought was that she’s rocking prosthetic feet.
There was a time way back when, when celebrities were the gold standard when it came to fashion. This modern generation doesn't seem to have any understanding that they need to look perfect in every way when presenting themselves in public. They either need to get a stylist or get a better one.
The only decent dresses, IMHO, were the Balmain minidress on Ariana Greenblatt (I don't know who she is) and the dress Katherine Hahn wore. But they both missed the mark on hair and makeup. The plum cowl-necked dress was a beautiful idea, but the crotch belt and lack of hemming RUINED what could have been a fantastic look. Two of the men looked terrific -- the less said about Glenn Powell, the better. Everyone else looked ridiculous!

Re: do celebs know what the backdrop is going to be. I’ve thought that Princess Catherine’s people get carpet swatches for events ever since the Earth Shot awards. Her green dress and that green carpet could have been a disaster had she not had the opportunity to tonally match them when picking her outfit for that event.

I don't mind that this red carpet show is a bit late. With awards season over it is nice to see. The colour and draping of Haley Kalil's dress was beautiful. The Dorrit Kemsley outfit looked like they forgot to take off the security tag before leaving the store.
