- The Critics Choice awards red carpet fashion was a massive disappointment! Let's take a look at some of the most drab, frumpy dresses, who made the worst dressed list? There was SO MUCH black & white, where was the color? Maybe more importantly, where were the necklaces?! What happened? What are we doing, Hollywood?! Despite a plethora of tragic frocks, a few looks were nice, but even the nice dresses seemed to lack the styling they needed to stick the landing. We were missing interest, wow factor, and we were definitely missing zest. Join me to see who made the best dressed list too; spoiler alert, there's only FIVE!!!!

I don't miss the shoulder pads. I have broad shoulders (and did even as an adolescent in the late '80s), and those pads did nothing for me.

I honestly don't know who three quarters of these women are. I think they should take the backdrop more into account when choosing a dress, because these all black dresses are hard to see the outlines as they disappear into the all black backdrop. All the oversized jackets look like they have raided David Byrne's old Talking Heads wardrobe!
Probably something they owned or could afford. Perhaps even a much lesser known designer. Why sMeg looked so terrible on all the "lesser red carpets" she walked.
The lack of jewelry on some that needed it for the look is because they aren't "big" enough for the HIGH end Jewelers to loan those pieces. The security costs etc.
Though Carrie Mulligan is such a fantastic actress. I'm shocked Winston or Bulgari wouldn't love to adorn her looks. 😮

The stars want to experiment and it often does not work. Also they change stylists so often and it shows. Zendaya's style is good but she has worked with the same stylist since she was 14.
Probably wore them for a bet. Like one of the earlier commenters, I haven’t a clue who most of them are, but Rachel Brosnahan looks like she’s got her dress on back-to-front.

I really don't understand the fashion vibes anymore. One used to dress to make oneself feel and look beautiful, accentuate the positive...but lately it is show every inch of skin or wear clothes from your worst nightmare 🤔
Yes, my favourite was Margot Robbie, but for me she had NO competition because most of the others were awful. One thing I also thought as I was listening to your rundown of the fashion was "who are these people?" since I barely knew any of them. Must be a testament to the fact that I don't watch many movies or subscription TV such as Netflix. And the fact that I must be getting very OLD.

I don't know almost anyone here, I've never even heard these names. Fashion like everything in our society has been absolutely destroyed. These are awful dresses.
We are slipping into socialism, which uglifies everything.
I think the deep V neckline has to go, along with any gown that requires breast tape. Almost every woman needs to wear a bra. The other trend I hate are the very masculine hairstyles. We don’t all have to look as if we’re transitioning.

6:09 that polka dot dress which plunged at the front, with horizontal straps holding it together, was one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen. It looked like she’d forgotten to put a shirt on underneath. Honestly, could you imagine Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly turning out in something like this?

What has happened to design? Dresses that offer no boob support, splits to the navel? It’s hardly rocket science to create beautiful dresses, I’m not sure if they choose the dress or a designer does, but some are so wrong.
lack of support is really UGLY if you don't have a perky well rounded boob. Not a heaving out of control boob either.
The problem with red carpets these days is that the actors themselves are not particularly glamorous, not like they used to be, and a lot of them don't seem to have much fashion sense. The reality is that the glamour of Hollywood is either lost or temporarily on hold, and I'm really sick of the 'quirky' designs, just go back to the glamour.
I must be too old. I don’t know who these people are and I don’t understand why these people can’t find better outfits. The metallic blue color you liked was my favorite.

I'm a woman and I have to say I am so very tired of seeing boobs everywhere. It is not necessary to basically expose yourself to look beautiful. I'm new to your channel and subscribed a few videos ago. I love watching. You know your stuff. I also believe that you aren't saying women's bodies, especially the older ones, have to be perfect but that they need to be conscious of what they wear underneath. I agree. edit I should say that we are feminine and of course a little cleavage shown is fine.
And don't forget *all* those fleshy thighs!! Whoever wants to see all that?? Just who are they trying to impress? Emperor's got no clothes...
I am sick of boobs being the focal point, and not being ugly but few of those flashing have good ones. I am especially SICK to death of seeing JLO's. She is always acting like some porn star, or a playboy bunny wannabee centerfold. I wish she would STOP pushing her rack on the world. Not like she doesn't have some talent, but she is more interested in the world knowing she has boobs ALL the time.
These are sad. It looks like no one cared and just grabbed something out of their closet last minute.

I also don’t know most of these women. But the one that was really, truly awful (imo) was the short skirt with feathers look…my view, a plucked chicken. Oh dear for most of them.

What is going on this YEAR Beebs? All the award shows so far have been the WORST! Is it the designers or stylists, I just don't know. Camilla Morrone NEEDS to do something about her hair, always looks tattery if that's a word. Finally Tracy Ellis Ross got it right!!! Really really 🖤 her dress. An awful lot of droopy boobs! Maria Bello has been doing this white shirt and skirt for all the award shows. I used to look so forward to the fashion at the awards shows, but again, this year is HORRENDOUS.

You're wrong with the Givenchy dresses. The one with the single pearl was much better than the deep-wide v, double buckle, polka dot disaster.

I just don’t get the types of low “slit “cleavage necklines (like the effect of being unbuttoned 1,5 buttons too far🤔)🤷🏼♀ Don’t get me wrong, I have NO problem with showing a bit of “sexy” cleavage/skin, but in my opinion that this style does absoluely nooothing good for anyone beyond an a cup - and even then it isn’t flattering! The deep vertical shadow does not enhance or flatter any bust, but simply elongates and ages, making even the most northseeking boobs, visually dribble a depressing south, like beagle ears in a wireless bra long past it’s “support date”!
And as for those slits to the navel...

One thing I am seeing in these recent red carpet looks is the severe center hair parted and pulled back. It's so unattractive. They need to stop it.

Out of all the awards shows I’ve seen so far, I love Jennifer Lopez’s pink with opera coat. It was so beautiful. I also agree that opera gloves would look so beautiful with some of these dresses. What is going on with Hollywood? When are the “old glamorous” looks coming back around? Not this year I’m afraid.

My favorite was the gal who rivaled the Princess of Wales at the 007 premiere. Her light gold dress with the cape like sleeves was just beautiful! And I do agree with you that most of the outfits were dowdy, frumpy and downright ugly.

Since I don't watch these shows I appeciate your round-up. You're right. This was a drab/ridiculous lot. I didn't like either of the polka-dot dresses (which I usually love) and the Rachel Brosnahan dress looks like she put it on backward. 😅

Yes, Duo Lipa's dress was my absolute favourite here. I have been mesmerised by that colour and sparkle ever since I saw Dorothy's shoes in Oz.

10:34 it's giving me The Meg flashbacks in that awful Safiyaa London dress at the annual Royal Variety Performance in London in 2018. Those straps are not doing them any favors. At least this one doesn't make her look like she's wearing a pillow under her bodice.
I found that red, textured dress instantly repulsive and nerve-wracking. But, until you said it, I didn’t know why exactly - it resembles the flesh of a body ripped open! Whatever happened to beauty, charm and class?
My pet peeve is when women stand with their legs crossed like they have to pee.
But there's nothing covering their peejina!
