Thank you for calling out the lack of fabric on the tops of dresses! And the strapless ones that sit too low! It doesn't come across as current or edgy, it comes across as not attractive. Womens bodies are considered art in these dresses. They are designed to be art, especially at the Grammys where you can get away with alot more. And i miss slits on dresses that were subtle, not so freaking obvious.
Then the paparazzi start screaming "Show some leg! Show some leg!" and the red carpet walker shoves a leg out through the gigantic slit at an awkward, unbecoming angle that makes the leg look untoned and weird, trying to keep the "out" foot centered over a 5-inch strappy stiletto. That's something they NEED to practice, because they KNOW it's coming and they all seem to absolutely mangle that maneuver. If you ask a butcher to show you a nice leg of lamb, that leg (poor lamb) will get a better presentation than these red carpet strutters can manage for their legs that they are proud enough of to wear dresses open up to their skivvies.

I think the people in charge of backdrops on the red carpets need to consider that so many people are going to wear black, so many of the styles are “lost” on the background.

“That’s not fashion that’s art” is usually in the comments in most fashion shows these days. Unwearable, unfashionable, unbecoming. Those words should never be used for fashion. There are so many amazing designers. It’s just a shame they are going the way of bad creations that no one should ever wear! “Art, not fashion” what happened to the big fashion houses? Only “Vintage” dresses were pretty.

I'm a financial analyst and I would be so curious about the total cost for the dresses ( outfits) alone, even if they were loaned by the designer - not including hair and accessories - (although the watermelon bag does interest me cost wise). Hi Beebs! I agree on the visible undergarments not helping the look and the chunky shoes really don’t go with a form fitting dress. In my opinion it destroys the sleek silhouette you try to create.
Miley is youthful, so small and slim, the dress fits that image. When she danced, it had movement and shine. I agree her hairstyle was off but, dang, she was so happy I couldn’t get past her enthusiasm.:)

That was rough! I couldn't believe how many terrible looks there were! I have no interest in seeing anyone's undergarments or doing a double take b/c a dress seemed to be completely see through The biggest shock to me was that I did not recognize Chrissey Tiegen...JS The last few looks were really nice. ABSOLUTELY TRAGIC! That silver dress was RUINED by the lack of appropriate undergarments! This overall trend of see through styling is a huge fail. It utterly detracts from the design, and draws the eyes to what should be concealed. And, can no one do a bustline correctly? Such a simple issue, but so often it is a fail. Again, too much stiff fabric & overlong in the front hemlines. So many are either drowning in fabric, or way too tight & exposed. Costumey looks are fun (when done right), but these are mostly a major miss! As for the worst list - Nightmare Fuel! And the men were just embarrassing. This entire event was a Clown Show! Dressing up for a night out has just - gone! Sometimes they put on a nice dress but it doesn’t look like they’ve even combed their hair. Just wash and air dry and off they go. Such a shame. And the fashion in showing their u dies! Oh, so tacky. No glamour anymore, well - not much. That pregnant lady looked beautiful, just beautiful. No tight dress with bulge sticking out - oh yuk! Main lesson: Underwear quality, fit and show is important, hair makes a dress, and clunky shoes (which I hate hate hate ...I do not get why they are bringing that of all things back) is not fashionable if you do not have a churnky dress (a.ka. balance your look).
I truly enjoy when you discuss how outfits might be improved (undergarments, etc.); I don’t know of anyone around my age who even knows what a slip is and its use. Would you consider creating a video that identifies when certain undergarments ought to be used? For example, a lightweight dress vs. a heavier halter dress? How might bras differ depending on the fabric of a blouse? Thanks for taking the time to read this. 🙂

There must be a hashtag out there for #I came (almost) naked to the Grammys, and #You could see my bellybutton at the Grammys - whether clothed or not. I was really drawn to the 40:05 white ballgown with the tie in front, but that maternity gown was out of this world. And, I gasped when I saw the copper gown at 41:23. Oh, to have the figure so you could tie that gown at the hips and have it look so fantastic! I also thought the color so complimented her skin tone. Not many people could have gotten away with that color dress. It looked like it was made just for her.
Looks like there was a shortage of fabric this year on some outfits , and they gathered up to many old swatches and fabric scraps off the sewing floors to overcreate the rest plus bought some cheap sheet sets for them to last minute use a pair of scissors to cut out for capes terrains or whatever 😮

It seems that nobody these days knows how to put an outfit together, with hairstyle, jewellery and shoes working in harmony. Isn’t it obvious that a dramatic neckline cries out for an updo rather than long straggly hair obscuring the shape, or that acres of bare chest needs a statement necklace for balance, or you don’t wear shoes that clash with your dress? Coco Chanel would be turning over in her grave. I can put together a more cohesive outfit from Kmart.

I don’t understand why most of these women don’t appear to have had their dresses altered to fit their body. Only one or two barely pass, but then there’s some other distraction. It really makes one appreciate the dresses Princess Katherine chooses to wear. It’s not that she has a lovely body, but that the dress is altered to fit her body. They also still stand like it’s their eighth grade photo. Absolutely no grace. I crave the 1940’s Hollywood look that at the stars were wearing. They hand sewn, altered to fit, with incredible fabric. These stars were breathtaking and stunning!

It was not too difficult to figure out actually. Grammy's was a tribute to the late great Miss Tina Turner who had passed last year. In a pre Grammy interview Miley spoke about artists and icons in the music industry that she respects, admires and who have inspired her. Her hair was a nod to her Godmother Dolly Parton and her dress during her performance, some of the moves more especially the last part was her homage to Tina Turner. It was a nod to the 70's/:80's vibe! PS: Southern women have a saying: The higher the hair the closer to God and the other is, Tease it to Jesus. 😀

My pet peeve is weird , random cutouts. They have ruined many would-be gorgeous dress. The naked dress with undies showing is just plain tacky.
As for the best looks, the white ball gown (I didn't catch the name of the woman wearing it) and Paris Hilton (did I really just type that?).
I would add to that the pregnant lady in white. Truly elegant.

“That’s not fashion that’s art” is usually in the comments in most fashion shows these days. Unwearable, unfashionable, unbecoming. Those words should never be used for fashion. There are so many amazing designers. It’s just a shame they are going the way of bad creations that no one should ever wear! “Art, not fashion” what happened to the big fashion houses? Only “Vintage” dresses were pretty.

I'm a financial analyst and I would be so curious about the total cost for the dresses ( outfits) alone, even if they were loaned by the designer - not including hair and accessories - (although the watermelon bag does interest me cost wise). That was rough! I couldn't believe how many terrible looks there were! I have no interest in seeing anyone's undergarments or doing a double take b/c a dress seemed to be completely see through The biggest shock to me was that I did not recognize Chrissey Tiegen...JS The last few looks were really nice. I understand it's the Grammy's but you can wear something more artistic without the cringe factor..imo🤯

That silver dress was RUINED by the lack of appropriate undergarments! This overall trend of see through styling is a huge fail. It utterly detracts from the design, and draws the eyes to what should be concealed. And, can no one do a bustline correctly? Such a simple issue, but so often it is a fail. Again, too much stiff fabric & overlong in the front hemlines. So many are either drowning in fabric, or way too tight & exposed.
Costumey looks are fun (when done right), but these are mostly a major miss! As for the worst list - Nightmare Fuel! And the men were just embarrassing. This entire event was a Clown Show! (Except the very few 'best dressed ')

Dressing up for a night out has just - gone! Sometimes they put on a nice dress but it doesn’t look like they’ve even combed their hair. Just wash and air dry and off they go. Such a shame. And the fashion in showing their u dies! Oh, so tacky. No glamour anymore, well - not much. That pregnant lady looked beautiful, just beautiful. No tight dress with bulge sticking out - oh yuk! She just looked lovely. Star of the night. I think she’d be the star whatever occasion she attended in that ensemble. 🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Main lesson: Underwear quality, fit and show is important, hair makes a dress, and clunky shoes (which I hate hate hate ...I do not get why they are bringing that of all things back) is not fashionable if you do not have a churnky dress (a.ka. balance your look).

Would you consider creating a video that identifies when certain undergarments ought to be used? For example, a lightweight dress vs. a heavier halter dress? How might bras differ depending on the fabric of a blouse?

I think designers are still figuring-out how to dress non-thin people. Most of the non-thin women don't look good in their garments for these events.

There must be a hashtag out there for #I came (almost) naked to the Grammys, and #You could see my bellybutton at the Grammys - whether clothed or not. I was really drawn to the 40:05 white ballgown with the tie in front, but that maternity gown was out of this world. And, I gasped when I saw the copper gown at 41:23. Oh, to have the figure so you could tie that gown at the hips and have it look so fantastic! I also thought the color so complimented her skin tone. Not many people could have gotten away with that color dress. It looked like it was made just for her.
Looks like there was a shortage of fabric this year on some outfits , and they gathered up to many old swatches and fabric scraps off the sewing floors to overcreate the rest plus bought some cheap sheet sets for them to last minute use a pair of scissors to cut out for capes terrains or whatever 😮

It seems that nobody these days knows how to put an outfit together, with hairstyle, jewellery and shoes working in harmony. Isn’t it obvious that a dramatic neckline cries out for an updo rather than long straggly hair obscuring the shape, or that acres of bare chest needs a statement necklace for balance, or you don’t wear shoes that clash with your dress? Coco Chanel would be turning over in her grave. I can put together a more cohesive outfit from Kmart.

I don’t understand why most of these women don’t appear to have had their dresses altered to fit their body. Only one or two barely pass, but then there’s some other distraction.
It really makes one appreciate the dresses Princess Katherine chooses to wear. It’s not that she has a lovely body, but that the dress is altered to fit her body.
They also still stand like it’s their eighth grade photo. Absolutely no grace. I crave the 1940’s Hollywood look that at the stars were wearing. They hand sewn, altered to fit, with incredible fabric. These stars were breathtaking and stunning!

Grammy's was a tribute to the late great Miss Tina Turner who had passed last year.
In a pre Grammy interview Miley spoke about artists and icons in the music industry that she respects, admires and who have inspired her.
Her hair was a nod to her Godmother Dolly Parton and her dress during her performance, some of the moves more especially the last part was her homage to Tina Turner.
It was a nod to the 70's/:80's vibe!
