I don't get the need to change clothes for an after party. Also, the sense of glamour that used to permeate all things Oscar has gone. It looks like everyone is trying to be semi-nude or otherwise outrageous rather than beautiful and elegant. I miss the old days........
It's called get comfy
After the Flashy, Tight + Uncomfy clothes
ALSO
B4 U go 2 the After Party
U have to give back ALL The Jewels That u BORROWED
Back TO the Bodyguards!
I understand the desire to change before an after party. The dresses have boning, they’re tight as Dicks headband and most are so long they need to be held up to walk and move about. Red carpet dresses are not party dresses.
Fashions circle back, don't get rid of your elegant gowns!
But then many of them changed into something just as difficult to wear.
Poor Charlize! Tragic is indeed the word!
Too few could be described as elegant.I miss the old days when they competed to be the most elegant. Today, well, they seem to be competing for the most shocking.
I agree, bring back the glamour and elegance. ❤
Yes, absolutely. But they don't shock, rather disgust. I don't understand the desire to be semi-naked at a formal evening, it's ok for the beach, where everyone is swimming or sunning themselves etc, but this? - it's not serious, it's not fashion, just - what's the word? Exhibitionism, that's it. Not at all attractive. EDIT: If it was a parade of beach ware, it wouldn't matter, but it's a formal evening, a cultural event, more or less, and to want to stand out from the norm is in this instance just crass behaviour. But maybe I'm too old-fashioned.
@@soniavadnjal7553 agree 100% with you Sonia 👍👍❤️
I so agreed with you
I swear some of these women wear such hideous outfits for a bet.
For those questioning Beebs’ view on Balenciaga, it stems from their ill advised 2022 advertising campaign in which children were pictured holding teddy bears dressed in bondage harnesses and costumes. The brand was accused of condoning pedophilia and child exploitation.
I mean, there was also the fact that the photographer who set up that campaign has a history of very creepy posts about children and photoshoots centered around a combination of childhood and sex.
Thank you for explaining it!!! So basically wearing that designer they're accepting his behavior????
Noooooo this isn't ok!!!! OMG!
@@karkirchBalenciaga is a fashion house. Unfortunately, the original designer passed away many decades ago in Spain.
I was literally at this point in the video when I got to your comment. Thanks for the information.
Good for Beebs and sticking to her convictions.
😮😮😮
I absolutely hate the underwear/sheer skirt look. I don't know or anyone that wears it well enough for me to say, "I love that!"
Even prostitutes have more class than celebrities now
Well, they are looks that probably do very well at 2am on a Vegas Strip street corner
I want to yell out And A 5 6,7 8......💃👯
Lol, they make me think of Lollypops when I was in dance school lol!
I also hate it, it isn't elegant, it looks sl---y,
I also cringe when people who are very overweight or just badly shaped, insist on shoving their flesh in one's face. Nobody wants to look at your fat legs or beefy arms and shoulders. Time was that people dressed to disguise their physical shortcomings and to look as as elegant as possible. I wish those days would return.
Most of these really come under the heading... what's the word... ah, yes. Ghastly.
I'm really tired of the underwear look. A little class would be nice.
I fail to understand so many things about the women's frocks. They don't fit, they fail to flatter, they are in poor taste. With all their money & connections why is this? Too many stylist appear to be incapable of doing their jobs. It is the women themselves who are responsible. Really!!! All the talented designers out there - where are they for these red carpet events?
Knowing nothing about fashion, I don't usually comment. But you have educated me on why I burst out laughing at some of the outfits on the red carpet. More money than sense is my favourite grumble. 😂
The majority of ‘celebs’ need a reality check style wise, in my humble opinion. Their stylists seem to dress? them like expensive street walkers. What happened to stylish and elegant? The clothes wear them.
Beebs, you are so incredibly kind to so many of these women. A large number were unmitigated disasters, unworthy of being called a 'dress'. Many were nothing more than what had to have been a sick joke on the part of the designer, to see how many were silly enough to fall for the jokes.
👍!!
Most of the dresses looked either frumpy, tacky, and ridiculous, and lacks style. I can't believe how little self respect these celebrities have to wear these clothes or do they not have a mirror at home.
I wish celebrities would stop wearing sculptural dresses on the red carpet. It almost never looks good on the carpet, in my opinion, and they look uncomfortable. It’s painful to watch them try to navigate their way through the shows 😂
How about the bathroom situación?
Chrissy Tiegan told 16 year old Courteney Stodden to un alive herself. I'll never not out her.
It's very telling for today's fashion that the most beautiful dress was a 20-year-old vintage piece!
Your commentary is always spot on. Shame on everyone who wore Balenciaga.
I don’t even know who most of these people are.
Phew. Thought I was the only one!
Poor Charlize! Someone stole her mirror!
And her slip 😂
and her hair dryer 😂
The bodice of the one with the bunny ears has Got to be some sort of hazing ritual or something.
And why would one wear a long train to a party?
And totally agree on the "shame"
I didn’t even recognize Salma.
Hilarious! Who do they think they are going to impress??
When Beebs was trying to describe it, I kept yelling "Bunny Ears, bunny ears". So funny and terrible.
@@leahmollytheblindcatnordee3586 😁 me too.
I agree that they need to move on from the exposed looks. I am happy to see more being done with colors for men. Thanks Beebs!❤️
‘Loin cloth vibes’ 😂 that should definitely not be a thing. Ever.
As I look at these outfits, why do I feel the need to scream-in my best Phoebe Buffay voice- MY EYES, MY EYES🤯🤯🤯
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh, Charlize. That’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen her wear!
Amerigo forgot her pants…trying to one up each other seems to be the biggest vibe of these gals….in doing so they mostly failed…just my opinion..🤷🏼♀️
America Ferrera's pink dress was so, so gorgeous. She looked amazing in it, and she was absolutely glowing.
Way, way too tight. I thought she looked squeezed into it. Horrible.
That sculptural dress looked like a puzzle piece.🧩
It certainly puzzled me!
It reminded me of Gumby.
Everyone in this thread is so funny. I laughed out loud at all three of your comments!
Don’t worry about it being late, Beebs! Saving the best for last 😉 Thanks for covering it! Love your honest and unbiased comments! 💕
I love your videos. Take your time getting them out
I’d rather see them later than rushing to get it done that we don’t get to see as many outfits. If that makes sense?☮️❤️
What a tragic lineup. Everyone looked ridiculous, with the exception of Emily Blunt, who thankfully lost the tighty whitey dress, and whoever that was in the sherbet dress. I also didn't hate Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and Lily Redfern looked okay.
It’s as if the collective goal was to see who could look the most idiotic. Lol
Overall... Boo. Hiss. Most of these choices were bad. A few were good. You need to take over as stylist consulting for Hollywood. Bring back the glamor.
This sheer lingerie is not an outer garment .. it is obvious most are dressed by others. Some are just fabulous and some are just sore on the eye Woke. Thank you Beebs 🩷
Same body, different face. That's what I say. 😊 I agree with you.
Thanks Beebs for calling out those who continue to wear Balenciaga. Shame on them!
Just curious. Is there a reason other than the styles?
Never mind. Saw the post below
I can't believe some of these women left the house in their dresses and from the looks on their faces they can't believe it!
looks like she forgot about her pants on with her tuxedo jacket
Yes, and she’s got stocky legs, which didn’t look good.
At least she was pleased🤣🤣🤣
@@GradKat She just looks odd and not in a good way.
Good for you calling out the Balenciaga choices! Can’t shame them enough! Hate all this sheer junk! And no one knows the bust isn’t working?
Another beautifully narrated parade of good, bad & oh--- what were they thinking!! Love your videos, Beebs!
Gads! At an after party you want to be comfortable! Put on some damn sweats! You want to have a good time! Glad I'm not fancy!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I watched all.of this however, it was not easy. I'm older and remember Hollywood of the 1960' and shake my head in dismay. Natalie Wood..Elizabeth Taylor..Audrey Hepburn and others who were CLASS from their heads to the tip of their little toe..are rolling over in their graves. YOU deserve some type of extra compensation for your amazing ability to construct any artistic construction of verbiage suitable to elevating these dress disasters of magnanimous proportions into passable pablum.
I did watch it all..like a train wreck I could not move away. Now that it is over.I need a martini.
Most of these looks were just vulgar and tasteless.
I am not that old but I remember as a child the woman were so glamorous and the men all looked the same to me. Today I am shocked on the strange dresses designed. You have the eye my dear. Enjoyed watching
I do like that men are starting to wear color, but I wish women's fashion would GO BACK
Oh Beebs, thannnk you for saying, “Shame!” every time someone wore B. (I just won’t even write the name in full.)
You are a sensitive, aware, and intelligent woman. Hear hear for virtuosity! 📣🌷
Agreed! I think the problem is that some of these people have no shame...
Lol, there is some film, I can't remember the name of right now, where some supposed witch is burned at the stake wearing a Balenciaga dress (she loved the designer for some reason) and screamed out the name as they set her on fire.
@@Tlyna1952That was during American Horror Story- Season 3- Coven.
@@gnostic268 Thanks. I remember thinking while watching it that being that hooked on a designer was a seriously bizarre thing to put in a movie like that one.
Anya's dress and headdress was just strange, not pretty, strange. America's jacket dress was a great color on her, but looked too big, and the hem ended at the largest part of her leg.
I gather the style is meant to look like you're wearing a men's jacket as a dress, so it's meant to look oversized. I . . . don't really get it, personally.
@fibanocci314 Yeah, not the most flattering on many women.
Thanks Beebs for all the effort you've put into this video. Some interesting looks and quite a few awful ones. And I agree about Balenciaga.
I think of all the money that has been thrown at these outfits and I despair! Have these people no mirrors, no friends to give them advice!
You are spot on as usual! The sheer fabric with briefs underneath and poorly fitting undergarments ruined most of these looks! I agree with the best dressed and also the worst. Who cares that this video is after the fact? ANY styling or awards type videos are the BEST! 😊❤️
How can some of these celebrities be seen on the red carpet looking the way they do? Don't they have the final say on how they look? Either they were duped into wearing these monstrosities or they are delusional and think they look stunning! How Sad!
Hallie Bailys dress is one of the oddest, apparently accidental, cuts I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen deliberately boxy cuts or plain strange shapes, but this lumpy dress couldn’t do justice for anyone!
I think you were very ‘kind’ with your analysis…. There were some real corkers there!!!
‘All the gear - but no idea!’
Great Video Beebs - just when you think you have seen it all the celebrities do not disappoint. I did like Lindsey Lohan's dress and Emily Blount. You have such a wonderful fashion sense I so appreciate.
That off white dress you didn't know what to call: The Bunny Ears dress. The bust thing looks like bunny ears. 🐰🐇🐰 Although the nose & mouth would arrive at unfortunate area. Fun vid. Take care and have fun!!! 😎😃😎
it's funny there was a bit of a negative reaction to Princess Catherine wearing opera gloves, but now all of Hollywood is copying it.
You could call Sandra Huller’s dress the rabbit ears design perfect for Easter.
19:25 Dearest Beebs, you had me laughing my head off at your expressions and comments on this hellscape of a dress. Hilarious, cheers x
Oh lord, only 2 minutes in and already desperate to comment! 2nd dress looks like it was originally entirely sheer and the sparkly bands were a last minute desperate add-on when someone finally remembered she'd be arrested if there was no coverage over the 'rude bits'. 3rd dress looks like a lampshade made from toilet paper. This video is obviously going to be a fabulous ride. I'm pausing to fetch coffee - I'll be back.
Back again: Had I not seen that with my own eyes, I would never have believed it possible for any garment to make Charlize Theron look that bad. W.T.A.F?
The desperate attempt to cover naughty bits just drew more unfavourable attention.
As always, I love your videos, brava! I particularly love that in this video you are shaming those wearing Balenciaga. Thank you for doing that!
Would you ever consider doing a video on Balenciaga and other designers and the positive and negative parts of these companies? I know that’s a huge topic but I’m sure you could come up with all sorts of videos off of that one umbrella idea. Have you watched the show on Apple about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel? It’s a historical fiction and I’m really enjoying it. It would be so cool to do some videos that touched on other designers and their history. You already have done a little bit, but maybe it’s something you could explore more of? Thanks again!
I love this idea!
Always good to see Beebs. I enjoy your channel 😊
So many of these designers seem to be thinking, "how weird and how bare can we go?"
I think high-necked halters with low cut underarms make anyone look droopy. Not great.
Also, your outfit today suits you so well. Looking simply beautiful!
I really, really liked the orange and coral one shouldered chiffon dress. The colors were yummy. Like a Tequila Sunrise.😄
If I may be so bold I'd rather the Balenciaga fashion not be shown at all. I appreciate your "Shame" on it but it's still given attention. I'd prefer those who wore the brand be named and shamed. Balenciaga pushed their evil agenda and thankfully were exposed for it. Now it's made deals with those celebs to showcase their brand in the hope people will "forget". Don't forget! Balenciaga's campaign was intentional.
I can see the merit in your argument. 🙂 However, I also think that talking about it makes the general public more aware of their shameful ad campaign. Hopefully it will encourage more people to not give Balenciaga any of their money. 🤞
Most of these dresses look like they belong in cosplay at a sci fi convention, not smart, not classy, just a "look at me!!" dreadful disappointment from so called celebrities
The red crocheted gown could do with a matte black lining.
Beebs, I love your observations! I am not a fashion educated individual, but I love all the details of the right and wrong. I don't ever think you criticise individuals. It is just a precise critique of the wearing of the garment. Bravo!
Nine times out of 10 Emily Blunt looks fabulous!! Am definitely over seeing everyone’s knickers and look forward to what the designers come up with as a replacement!!
I will show my age when I say, "Egads! What were they thinking!"
We didn't reveal so much back in the 70s and 80s, but we were still plenty desirable. 😅 just saying.
Join the club!
All these dresses seem so short. The one with the hefty leg sticking out of the long dress looked like she was going to step on a bug or something. I'd hate to have been that bug! 😮
She’d have no problem post holing through 4’ of thick, heavy snow.
That dress was doing that leg no favours!!
Right out of the first Hairspray picture
Beebs, It would be fun if you did a video of the fashion show from the 1939 movie, The Women. The comparison from then to now would be fantastic. Thank you.
As usual I don't even recognise most of these people. No wonder they have to wear "look at meeeeee" fashion. I find myself channelling my mother: "they haven't left anything to the imagination". No class anymore.
I thought I was the only one who didn’t know most of these people
I love your fashion videos. Your fashion and style analysis is always so thoughtful and well-presented.
You are way too kind! The trend of sheer dresses with no lining or undergarments is atrocious, and too few of the dresses are elegant and flattering to the person wearing them.
Ladies....please.....no matter your "size" or figure.....please never, never, never wear horizontal stripes !!
Hello Beebs! I wanted to affirm you for your clear and generous articulation. You speak so well and teach as you do so. I also have to enjoy someone who likes what I like and hates what I hate. This proves you have great taste! 😅
Suzanne tg
Don't know why but that pink tiered dress brings to mind Carol Burnett and the skit about Scarlet OHara and the curtains, maybe it's the shoulders 😂
That Balmain dress with the bodysuit looking thing is disturbing. How she looked in the mirror & said, “ Yes, this is what I’ll wear,” is beyond me
The ladies wearing those sheer undergarment revealing dresses would look elegant and glamorous if the material was not sheer.
Outstanding commentary and analysis, just great to see Beebs. Hello to the little beebs I hope they come back soon.
As a person with sloping shoulders the off the shoulder straps drive me nuts. I liked the shoulder pad era😊. If I still dressed up I would still wear them but discreet ones.
I miss dressing up 😢 No-one does it any more
Beebs…you need to be a celebrity stylist. First thing to outlaw are bellybuttons. There are not many that look very good. You have never been wrong in your clinical diagnosis of celebrity wear. Your eye is so discerning…you can see how to fix a look or when to scrap a look. You could be the best. You seem to know the upcoming designers and also appreciate the classics. I enjoy all your critiques be it anything from formal wear to shape wear.
There were a lot of beautiful features on many items that, unfortunately, were countered by faux-pas or unpleasing elements. As a Star Trek fan of many years, I liked Tracey Ellen Balmain's shoulder features. I think the concept you're trying to figure out on Sandra Huller's dress is rabbit ears. It's unfortunate, because the ears had some beautiful artsy elements on them.
The floating straps are reminding me of the sandwich boards from the great depression! 😂😂😂
9:57 that pink dress really reminds me of Madonna’s Material Girl video.
Wow, the dramatic sculptural ruffled dress was amazing and a "good attempt" for sure❣️
I agree but wonder how she walks or sits in it🤔
Best - Nicole Ritchie. Worst - Kathy Hilton. KH is way too old and out if shape for a see-through dress. Great video, Beebs! ❤
Word of the day: "Situation " 😂😂
Hi Beebs! I can't tell you how much it has helped me watching your videos. I look at clothing completely differently! Love your channel!
I liked the sherbet dress that flowed like waves 🌊 of sunshine ☀️
I love Emily Blunt so much! And her fashion choices are almost always on point. She's one of the few that I look forward to seeing and know I won't be disappointed.
She is pretty, but at least in this picture, the blush tint is too pale, and overall, the dress looks like a nightgown.
It looks like someone taped a piece of cardboard to her chest for some odd reason. She doesn't look happy in it either so I dress at the end
Horrible and it looks sooooo uncomfortable
@@maryjuchnevicius7075 True, How do you sit down in that thing? The cardboard front looks as though it'll pop right off.
I want to know what it looked like from the side!!??? Was there anything there covering her or just total boobage?
Loved this commentary Beebs. My favorite was this black dress with ruffled peplum, think it had a ruffle short jacket. Reminded me of the American standard poodle.
Margot Robbie looks like she was in the middle of getting dressed and the oven timer went off. She’s wearing a corset and an enormous double oven glove.
It would be perfect if she were playing the Madeline Kahn role in "Blazing Saddles."
Emily Blunt looks amazing!
If they wore a slip underneath it would 99% better. The sheer look with no lining can't go away fast enough.
Two exceptions are that beautiful pink dress. and the one you called the best dress on the night, pink and peach looking how an evening dress should be, elegant and charming.
Really loved watching this. You are fabulous Beebs. Some of these dresses were so bad!! I did love Emily Blunt 's look though.
Your comments are on point.
Wow, some ppl know how to do frumpy better than others, that was awful❣️
Thanks for the video. I always like to hear what you think about these fashions and I have learned so much from you🤩💗🤩
you're really good at that, I love how you communicate your sharp eye,
pointing out things I wouldn't have thought of...
I did like Matthew McConoughey's wife outfit, the 'chaotic' one, lolol..
SPOT ON!! My favorite review EVER!! Just what the fashion/entertainment world needs. WELL DONE BEEBS💝😇
You often say, “Why did they do this to her,” or something similar. Don’t the celebrities get to choose their clothes for these events? Can’t they request better tailoring or simple changes?
I think the designers are having a laugh at these women. I can't imagine the celebrities are alright with so little coverage and/or support. 😮
Celebrity egos.....
I think Beebs may say it because she holds the stylist as the most responsible party whenever a celebrity or public figure doesn't look their best. (I tend to agree - it is their field of expertise, so a stylist should know what they are doing). I also think Beebs tries really hard to keep the focus on how and why an outfit flatters or does not flatter a person. I've noticed that she tries to steer clear of being critical or insulting towards that person's body or their character. Saying "Why did they do this to her?" allows Beebs to get her point across without being cruel or rude to anyone. 🙂
I do think celebrities get to say "no." I'm not sure why some of these unflattering looks happen, either. Sometimes I wonder if a particular celebrity has just not had the chance or the desire to develop a good sense of style? Or perhaps they do not see or understand what looks good on their body? Or maybe they are a people pleaser, and are afraid to go against their stylist's opinions? I'm not sure. 🙂
Hello, i absolutely love your channel. I enjoy watching as you explain the styles. The Do's and the Don't. You are on point. I have the 40's 50's 60's styles. I must say these Hollywood styles are Ridiculous, who designs this stuff ? Hollywood has LOST IT'S CLASSY STYLE AND GLAMOR..In my HUMBLE OPINION
You are looking gorgeous ❣️
