The internet is FULL of examples of What NOT To Wear to a Wedding, let alone a Royal Wedding. So I was shocked to find so many peculiar wedding guest outfits from the likes of Meghan Markle, Naomi Campbell and more! While we may not have the budget to pull out all the stops as a wedding guest, these attendees certainly have far less of an excuse to come looking disheveled.
This Special Fashion Edition Features some of the most notable wedding guests from Princess Eugenie's Royal Wedding to Jack Brooksbank and a sprinkling of Amal Clooney at another notable royal wedding in a most fabulous yellow number!
We're also taking a glance at the Meg's most odd wedding guest dress, the big, blue, bedsheet misadventure. What ended up looking like her grandma's dress gone wrong with a toilet tissue hat was not a great start to her wedding guest reputation & it only got worse from there. But I have found an alternative for her, from the same designer, nearly as eye-wateringly expensive, but would have actually looked nice!

In answer to "who would turn down an invitation to a Royal Wedding?" Apparently Reese Witherspoon did turn down an invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding because she "didn't know them"

Announcing a pregnancy at another bride's wedding is low. I was less than three months pregnant at a family wedding (having had our wedding only four months before) when my husband's aunt asked us if I was pregnant. We were both flabbergasted at the question but didn't want to lie. We told her we weren't telling anyone yet. She very quietly gave us a congratulations and a smile and didn't say another word about it. We made an announcement a few weeks later where she acted surprised. 😆 If it weren't for being asked point blank, we would have never even hinted. Also, MM wearing that dress that was hiding a non-existent bump was begging for someone to speculate about her pregnancy. It was practically a giant announcement in and of itself.
Had the same thing happen to me! I was 6 months along though and wearing a cultural dress did help hide the bump. I also had an auntie and grandma ask me point blank and we said we were but didn't want to cause a scene at someone's wedding. We also got quietly congratulated and then they just moved on like nothing happened! We got calls the next day from other aunts but was glad to keep it on the DL for the wedding as much as we could
Completely agree! The dress, strategically chosen by the attention-seeker, led most people to speculate about a possible pregnancy, so even if she hadn't made an announcement, she was stealing the bride's thunder nonetheless! You do not, under any circumstances, steal a bride's thunder!

Yeah, like she was six weeks pregnant. The fetus is the size of a pea, but she's wearing her coat open. What a bitch!
@@tooma4886 The way this dress coat was made M could not flip the coat open every time she bent forward. She learned her lesson and in future made sure she could flip open a coat or jacket to point out her baby bump.

I think also when spoken to about a poor choice, or requested colour choice by the RF when they were part made her purposely dress wrong. When asked to wear cream, she wore olive, when asked to wear pastels she wore frog green, so if asked to wear non revealing dress to a wedding, she'd roll in in an expensive bedsheet or tablecloth.

Until now, I didn't realize Tom Inskip's wedding was in Jamaica. I knew MM was "frequenting" Europe during that time period. In order to crash that wedding, she had to fly to Jamaica. That is very disturbing.Very desperate move. Now, why would a normal person do that?

My rule for weddings if I would be upset if someone announced a pregnancy, engagement, or wore white at my wedding, I shouldn’t do that to anyone else. Anyone announcing a pregnancy at a wedding is poor taste.
Yes, and if you do that, then you have to HAVE a baby, or a story why not. That’s another story people are ragging these two about. Where are the kids?
I come from a different sort of family, we would have it announced at our wedding if we knew someone was expecting. And it was a tradition for us that we would celebrate the next bride to be by putting the brides veil on her and a flower from the bouquet in the brides hair. The matrons of the family would sing a traditional song of the moving from maidenhood to womanhood

At the front of the church she wanted to hold hands, Harry knew this was inappropriate so he let go. MM grabbed his hand again and was SO triumphant and arrogant and Harry was furious. How romantic 💜💜💜

Catherine and Anne always look neat and tidy (not to mention beautiful and classy) but I wonder why more women don't wear stockings or fix their hair nicely so it doesn't look so messy? Wearing stockings and having nice hair just seems to be a given at any wedding but especially for a royal wedding. Love your videos, Beebs!! PS: Madam M's bed sheet/floral curtains "dress" and toilet paper hat mixed with messy hair and a scowl look AWFUL! That woman couldn't have any class if her life depended on it. MM dresses like someone who just came into unlimited $ for her wardrobe and impulsively bought a ton of expensive outfits online/without trying them on. She won’t have her clothing tailored because she thinks everything automatically fits her, and won’t use a stylist because she knows everything.
Beatrice is Most Improved-since she’s been with Edo, her looks have become elegant, classy, and beautiful. She really had a frumpy era, but no more. Unfortunately I think Eugenie is still in the frumpy era.
I loved the Duchess of York’s green dress at Eugenie’s wedding. Beautiful color on her.
MM was like 5 minutes pregnant at that wedding but acted like she was 13 months-the loose fit, the coat unbuttoned at her belly-🙄

I did not like the red one, too. Red is the bridal colour in some Commonwealth countries and signals a former sexual relationship of the guest and the groom in some European cultures.

Markle's coat dress for Eugenie's wedding was OK, it was the fact she chose not to button. it all the way down as a "hint' that she was expecting a baby. I'm sure she thought she was being clever, but it was beyond rude. I'm sure Fergie would have loved to put Markle in her place but didn't want. to make it an even bigger nightmare. As far as Markle's jewelry overload, it reminds me of a child playing dress up. As a matter of fact, all of Markle's outfits remind me of a child playing dress up, a child with no fashion sense what so ever.
An “insider” said that one of the ways MM got extra $$ from Charles was to wear loaners to events (thus untaillored) but tell Charles she paid for them.

What is this about Royal ladies not wearing gold jewelry? I've seen Catherine wear gold jewelry and during the day, and we all know she follows protocol!
One will not see British royal women decked out in pure gold earrings, necklaces, tons of gold rings (other than a wedding band), gold brooches and bracelets during the day. There’s a reason Diana, Princess of Wales’ engagement ring is in silver. The same for Sarah’s engagement ring, etc. And to my recollection, any continental royal women either. All of the Queen’s brooches she wore during the day are silver or platinum, but not gold. It is considered too ostentatious.

I agree that both Beatrice’s and Catherine’s (surprisingly) dresses at Eugenie’s wedding were not their best. Maybe it’s just me, but a ring on every finger screams “high school” or just “cheap.” Such a Meghan choice. Also agree that Liv Tyler looked matronly - bummer on such a pretty woman. British weddings are always such a feast of interesting fashion.
The navy coat thing MM wore to Eugene's wedding appeared to be an intentionally sly way adding grist to the mill for pregnancy rumours even though she was no where near far enough along to need that style. I saw it and felt like this was just one more way of making a RF event all about her and coupled with the announcement it was in my eyes narcissistic and despicable; however, I think that was the event that opened most people's eyes to her true colours.

Cressida’s dress was gorgeous, and I agree that she seems like a really fun, nice person :)) And I loved her friend’s cookie box handbag! It was quirky & British, and brought a touch of whimsy to her otherwise elegant outfit.
I really liked Cressida's dress and headband. She looked very pretty.

The worst outfit, by far, in this category, was Oprah’s dress at Harry’s wedding. I could NOT believe my eyes when Oprah showed up. The woman is a billionaire and can purchase the very best, but she looked like ten pounds of potatoes in a five pound sack. She was also teetering on super high heeled shoes. Just hideous imo. An excuse that was given was Oprah had to change dresses at the last minute because her outfit was off white and the color was not acceptable for a Royal wedding. I’m not buying this excuse. Even if this is a true story, there’s just no excuse for the extremely poor fit.

I do like Amal Clooney’s dress. The line is lovely and flowing, but that shade of yellow is better on someone with a warm complexion and warm-colored hair like dark auburn. I love her in maroon tones. She rocks cool colors. Markle was a true disaster in what looked like her grandmother’s drapes. Catherine always looks great because she listens to stylists as nearly all royal women do.
I could had bought at least 100 dresses and still looked better then that hot mess. MM was swimming in that dress. And the price was an outrage. She’d be smart to find/discover some new up coming designer who is willing to dress her.
I actually liked the dress! It was just too big for her and not appropriate for the occasion 🙈 but yeah, money doesn’t equal style

I just have to say, walking side by side my husband and I always held hands. No, it wasn’t that desperate clinging that Megan does to Harry, but we always held hands. I never felt we were doing anything Inappropriate or childish. He was my sweetheart until he died. But you can tell by M & H’s other body gestures their hand holding is not done in affection or love it looks like desperation to me!

You're right JudyW, holding hands can be very sweet, it's the desperate clinginess that looks bad.
My Mum and Dad always hold hands in various ways and it was never needy or clingy.
Same with my husband of 40 years. I’m notoriously clumsy so holding his hand is a self preservation necessity 😊
Zara and Mike hold hands a lot. But Zara doesn't have a Markle Claw-type grip on him. It's second nature to them and you can see that they are so comfortable together. But the Harkles make it look forced. And I really think that the hand-holding during a royal engagement was the wrong thing to do. You're at work. PDA is inappropriate.

The woman in pink at Eugenie's wedding is Pixie Geldorf and her husband George Barnett. Apparently, in a few steps the wind takes the cape away from one shoulder. She's gets it back in place and then is left holding her fascinator as her husband George readjusts her cape.
Under the cape is a not-so-terrible but plain sleeveless pink dress, with apparently no bra. Or a very unsupportive one.
Oh so Bob Geldof's daughter? The dress, shoes, hat and clutch were awful.

I also thought something was off with Beatrice's dress at Eugenie's wedding. She looked nice BUT it made her look heavy set/back an odd shape. But have absolutley loved her more recent looks!!
A lot of these ladies have weird dress-lengths, Beatrice included. But her lovely smile in most photos, fortunately, makes up for sometimes dubious choices

A lot more hits than misses. But one thing I would point out is everyone looks pretty natural. Most times Meghan looks awkward or like she’s lurking. There is so many photos of her looking like that. Especially here 9:38, 9:59. Very strange.

I also have a walker, but I need to work on my strength (very questionable), so I was just trying. But she gallops all over the place in ill-fitting high heels

I used to work for an embassy here in Japan and I remember to have read the outfit protocol when attending events of the Imperial Family of Japan somewhere . I noticed that the protocol of the English Royal Family in general is very similar to the Japanese one so I was surprised to see that guests here had no idea about the colors and accessories to wear. Very sad.

I had another thought. So many times I see these kinds of photos and think to myself, "Why is that woman wearing that color?" Even a terrific style can go wrong when the color doesn't flatter the wearer.
Beebs mentions that Harry and Meghan look like they were fighting when she was wearing that too big Oscar de Laurenta. I think they were. She looked terrible, I think on purpose and he knew it was on purpose. Harry knows how to dress and how to look for weddings. If I had gone out looking like that, my husband would have been angry too.

I think Beatrice often looks wonderful. She looked lovely at the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving service and the Coronation. She also had a gorgeous look on one day at Ascot this year. She does however sometimes miss badly. Eugenie also can look wonderful. Her figure is trickier to style and she often does not look great which is such a pity.
