    I purchased a set for my '99 FRC and love them. Also installing the Android 10 version of the Joying 8.8. Toying with the idea of the push button start as well. Thanks for the vids. Your Joying install video has been a big help to me at least.

    As you mentioned safety, my only concern would be if they would protect you in a rear-end crash. I had a cheaper set in a Mustang a few years go that broke the recliner in a rear-end crash. I wasn't injured, but the seat was done after only 35 miles. Hopefully you don't test that out on yours. Be safe out there.

    Drove from Garden City Kansas to Carlisle Pennsylvania lately with these seats. Very comfortable. You do sit a little lower. I am 6'2" so that didn't bother me. Very happy with them. Would recommend. Installed in a 98 C5.

    The seat disection idea is interesting. I have a trans am Firehawk and recently purchased eBay seats that are pretty similiar and I'm curious myself.
    Also, heads and cam packages on the LS cars are good to go. I'm running an LSx street sweeper can on ported heads with an ls6 intake on my car. Drivability is still there. Cool thing about these LS cars is the forums solved all the issues that come up in these things a decade ago. Every problem is well documented with its solution.

    A foot stool performs as good as OEM's and need replacing if you drive a Vette they way they're intended. Mark, your sets look great and seem to be holding up well for what you spent. I went with Corbeau A4's and they cost 1,300 with the brackets. Expensive yes, but they've held up great and no complaints.

    I think these will be miles better than what is in my 40 year old car, appreciate the review, it's hard to get cheap seats over here like people can get in Japan with Up Garage. Our version of that would be Pick n Pull some kind of OEM seat that is currently plentiful and not super worn out in the wreck yard, most of those kind of seats would be too big for my 74 Celica & just look out of place compared to a nice basic aftermarket seat.

    Hi, I have been watching a lot of your C5 videos and just finished up installing my Joying headunit like yours and am loving it. Question though, I am using the Torque app to try to utilize the bluetooth obd readers and the two different bluetooth obd readers ive tried connect fine but say they cant communicate with the ECU. Have you messed with this or gotten it to work? If so which OBD reader did you use?

  • @tksperformance8789
    @tksperformance8789 Před 11 měsíci +1

    I've got these exact ones. Funny enough got them from my son who didn't want to go to the trouble putting them in his C5 so i bought them from him. They're decently comfortable but i can tell you first hand not safe. One night super late made a terrible judgment call and the next thing i know a tree ran right into the back right corner of my Z. I didn't realize it at the time but when i took the car apart to repair it i noticed that my recliner jumped a few notches back, which loosened my shoulder harness and allowed my body to sight up the now inclined seat with my head denting in the cross structure piece just ahead of the top of the hatch. My car is just about ready to drive and I'm searching hard for some quality racing seats. These are not safe and I'm very fortunate to not have a head or neck injury or worse, you just vnever know

    For airbags do you have to remove airbag fuse will airbags work and passenger seat air bag sensor what do you do

    • @dham99
      @dham99 Před 9 měsíci

      removing fuses does not generally work, you have to have a resistor that mocks the factory signal so the computer doesnt think anythings off. Usually within the forums of the platform you're modding (C5 for instance), there's plenty of ppl who've documented how to get rid of Airbag lights safely with simple Radio Shack/electronics store items. The C5 is one of best track cars and nearly all hardcore drivers probably replace the seats, so there has to be plenty of options if you just search the forums

    1st world problems, ya know. The blessing of and yet the irritation of living in America and driving a Corvette with a squeaky arm rest. If Joebama keeps it up, we'll be lucky to keep our 1st world problems. I know I'm not driving my Pro street 72 442 much. 540 BBC likes to drink! Thinking about putting the LS 5.3 I just swapped into my 93 Impala clone into the 442. Going to get a decal for the intake tube that says; Filling in for a 540 until 2024. One can only hope. Anyway, back on topic. Looking to replace the seats in my 91 Z28. They're terrible even though they're mint. I got lucky and bought some Cobra Misano's years ago and love them, but they're too much money, and I went from a 32 to a 38. They're tight now! I'm really hoping that a company comes out with some C8 knock offs with the floating headrest, but that may take a while. Thanks for the 1 year video. One never knows how good these are otherwise.
